Shadow's Winter
Shadow's Winter
It was simply another day in the world of Pirating. Captain Winter was standing at the helm and was barking out orders every now and then. Suddenly, the lookout screamed out. “Cap’n! Hurricane a coming!” the man shouted. “Get to work then you dogs! Loosen the lines a bit! Keep close to your posts and for the love of god; don’t hesitate when I give you orders!” Winter yelled out. Soon the storm over took them. Rain fell hard upon the crew as Captain Winter looked out over them. “Close the sails!” she yelled. Winter’s curly black hair was soaked and was sticking to her forehead as she realized water was aboard ship. “To the pumps you dogs!” she yelled at them.
Once the storm passed, at the helm still stood Captain Winter Moonlight. “The damage is done…get some food in your bellies then set to fixn’ up the ship!” she ordered. A chorus of “Yes ma’am” followed her orders. Looking out from the helm, Winter sighed a sad sigh. “Damn..” she whispered.
When the men finished eating, they set to work immediately. Looking a bit suspicious, Winter yelled out. “I want two men in the nest! NOW!” she shouted. Three men suddenly jumped at the job and all three got into the nest. All of them playing look out.
Suddenly a cry from the crow’s nest got her attention. “Captain! Black ship approaching!” one of her men cried out. “Captain! Our guns were damaged!” another shouted. “Oh silence you whimpering dogs! Get up thy arms! Pistols! Daggers! Swords! What have you. NOW!” she shouted to her crew. “Aye Aye Captain!” they all cried.
Once the black ship was close enough, she saw hooks fly over and attach to her ship. Captain Winter looked at her crew. “Men, prepare thyselves to fight to the death.” she said.
When her crew didn’t respond and simply started at something behind her, she turned, rapier in hand and glared at what she saw. A shadowed figured was standing at her helm. A grin plastered on his face. “We’ll be taking all your plunder.” a rather deep, and husky voice said. “Board her men!” he shouted.
Winter’s first mate looked at her and called. “Be careful Captain!” he said. “I will be downright dangerous..” Winters said with her own grin. A blade came into her view as she looked at the man attacking her. She had caught the blade with her own. Pulling out her small dagger, she went to stab the man’s belly and gut him, but something went wrong and all she heard was loud crew men and the sound of cloth ripping. The shoulder of her corset was cut. “You bastard!” she yelled as he fought him a little while longer. Lunging and parrying at the appropriate moments. “You shall pay for my new corset you prick!” she yelled at him.
“Oh I think not Missy..” the other captain said as a hilt came down on the back of her head. As the world turned black she heard cheers…
