The Meeting....
Raul
1900’s New York City a rainy day in the newly budding metropolis, People went about there task as always maybe with an umbrella in there hands, and like always a Raven hair blue eyed young man sat on he’s window bench and read by the dim light of the sun though the clouds. He’s name was Daniel a bright eyed if not a bit naïve 18 year old who wasn’t in the best of health otherwise he would have been working in one of he’s father factories by now. Instead he was at home reading a book. Daniel let out a sigh as he heard the rain drops hit the stain glass window of he’s bedroom. Sure he’s family was rich and they lived in the best house that money could buy and they even had this new thing called a hot water heater. But that was beside the point he wasn’t very happy at the moment mostly because he had just learned he was to be wed to someone he hadn’t even met. For this reason only he had drove into one of he’s favorite books. If only to escape from he’s real life for a moment. Just as he had gotten to a god part in the book he’s Father called from him. “Daniel come down stairs at once I have a job that even you can’t screw up!” came the commanding and rather scary voice of he’s father.
“I’m coming father there’s no need to shout the walls are very thin after all.” Daniel said a bit of spite in he’s voice two of them have never gotten along even though they where blood relations.
“Watch your tone you good for nothing son of my!” His father said as he slapped the boy across the cheek his mother who had just walked in the hall where they we’re standing quickly garbed Daniel and held him close giving her husband a glare.
“Edmund please he’s 18 you have to expect some rebellion from the boy there was no reason to slap him like.” She was a sweet woman, and she loved her children more then anything else in this world especially Daniel.
“Lilly please Daniel need to be taught to respect he’s betters!” Edmund said in the same commanding voice he always used.
“He’s betters? Edmund you and he are in the same social class there is no betters here.” She snapped back silencing her husband. She let go of Daniel and checked him over quickly. “Good that slap didn’t leave a mark after all you are going to met your bride to be today.” Daniel groaned a little and his mother gave him a warning glare.
“I know I know I have to do this for father.” He said sighing slightly he dad had now walked off, and he’s mother was guiding him towards the door with money in his pocket.
“Go to the flower shop on center and pick her up some roses their her favorite flower oh yes and her name is Elizabath.” Lily said with a proud smile on her face.
“Oh right mother but can I have an umbrella before I go out in the rain.” Just as he said that a brown umbrella was handed to him and he was off walking. He could have taken a carriage but today he wanted to walk, It would after all delay the meeting with he’s Bride. “I really don’t want to get married.” He let out another sigh then slowed down just a bit. He really wasn’t looking forward to having to buy flowers for some girl and also get married to her when he didn’t even like girls to begin with not that he could tell anybody mind you. They’d more then likely lock him up for being insane. But he wasn’t insane just cause he liked males didn’t make him a bad or crazy person. At least that was he’s opinion on the matter. He decide to take a longer route to center by going down the back allies. That would prove to be the most fateful decision of his life but at that very moment the head of a very power clan of vampires was also walking down the allies looking for he’s next meal. Little did the both of them know that their fates had now been intertwined and their lives would be changed forever.
Raul the self proclaimed oldest of all the remaining vampires. He was vain, power hungry, and most importantly he smoked a lot. As he puffed on he’s cigar and walked down the back allies he sighed there wasn’t an person to be seen and his stomach was starting to growl very loudly if he didn’t find someone soon he might end up having to feed off of one of he’s servants. “Yuck! Most of them taste like old shoe!” He made a face then took another hit from he’s cigar. Stopping and looking at the cloudy sky he smiled slightly. On rain days like this he could get out with out free of the sun. Which would explain why he a vampire was out in the light now. Raul yawned a little then notice what he thought was someone walking rather slowly. “Hmm looks like I found lunch!”
Daniel sighed and kicked a stray tin can that was laying in the trash filled ally. He put away he’s umbrella and looked up at the sky letting the rain hit his face. It hide the tears that had started to fall. He wasn’t crying cause he had to get married he was crying cause his father still hated him. That was the one thing besides smokers that Daniel couldn’t stand. “Why do you hate me so……” Raul stopped again when he heard sniffles from he’s target. Was the boy crying what could such a lovely raven haired beauty be upset about, and what was he thinking humans weren’t lovely they where food he is food.
“But he seems so sad.” Raul whispered to himself. He stared at the boy for awhile then took a deep breathe and decide to turn around and find someone else to feed from. “I can’t do it for some reason this boy makes me want to protect him.” A crashing sound coming from behind him made him look at the boy who was now lying face down on the ground. He’s eyes grew wide and he rushed to the boy and picked him up. “Did someone else!?!” He checked the boys neck and there where no wounds. “Thank god he just clasped, Well looks like I got no choice kiddo gotta take you with me can’t leave a cutie like you out in the mean streets when it’s rain, would ruin my honor as gentlemen.”
