Metaphor

My heart is like a toothache, it hurts but you ignore it
You leave it alone, thinking it will heal itself but you
Know you’re wrong. It will keep hurting until you deal with it, but you
Know you are afraid of dentist so you won’t even try to fix it.
So it stays and it hurts and you cry at night when the pain is at its
Worst.
By morning you think, okay I can deal with this, so you take a pill, to
Kill the pain, later that night you go to bed happy, and the next
Morning guess what the pain is back, that’s what you get when you
Are afraid of dentist,
I tell you my heart is like a toothache, it hurts and
I do nothing about the pain I’m all about quick fixes
Yeah I know that’s not the answer, well what do you
What me to do, face my fears go see the dentist
I can do about anything, face about everything
But face it, overcome the toothache
Even I am not that brave.
