Shadows Never Die
In a time when the three great kingdoms of Hizal are in total harmony and peace is spread throughout the land, a dark shadow shall spread. With hell’s forces at her side she shall strike the world. Armies will face and fall before her mighty power. However one child will protect the world. Born of Elf and Neko-jin she shall have the energy to stop the evil presence. Joined by two friends, she will march into the heart of the darkness to stop the evil from spreading. The land will return to the peace it once knew. However the child must pay a terrible price for this victory.
Chapter 1:
Fayt was walking home from an elder council meeting with much on her mind. For a few days now she had been sensing a powerful dark energy slowly growing in Hizal. She was getting worried about it and was meeting up with an old friend to discuss this issue. Her mind was swirling with thoughts so that she missed the little feet quickly approaching her.
“Miss Fayt!” a group of small children called. The old faerie turned around to see happy smiling faces.
“Good day my little ones, what can I do for you all?” A warm smile spread across the faerie’s face.
“Can we hear the tale of Shika and Namona’s battle again,” a boy with lime green hair asked. The other children nodded with excitement.
Fayt gave a light airy laugh. This seemed to be their favorite story out of all the ones she ever told them. “I have some time before I meet with someone. Shall we sit under the trees?”
The children again nodded with excitement as they lightly pulled the elder towards the trees.
Fayt waited for them to settle down before speaking. “Now where shall I begin?” she questioned because there were so many battles between the two.
“Start when Shika is evading Delzor,” the same boy with green hair stated.
“And can you please tell us how Norax and Niisha got together. I love that part.” a shy girl with light purple hair requested.
“Yes my little ones. I can do both,” Fayt told. “It all started one hundred and thirty five years ago…”
Storm clouds were looming over Ashura, the dark kingdom, like always. The land was barren and cold. Its only structure was known as the ‘bleeding castle’. It was made of rough dark stones that would piece through the tough of armor, and stuck together with monster blood that would run when it rained giving it its nickname. No sane creature would ever venture here. It was the home of the ‘Shadow’s’ dark army. The monsters killed anything that lay foot on the island and eat it raw. The only person living there was Namona. She was chosen by the ‘Shadow’ to lead his army in war to take control over Hizal. However in a turn of event the leaders of Hizal joined forces and pushed the dark army back to their island.
Namona was standing in her throne room watching the events outside unfold. Earlier that morning, the leaders of Hizal’s kingdoms, Shika the Elf, Mai the Neko-jin and Nataku the human had begun their raid, a huge army of Elves, Neko-jins, a human type creature with cat like qualities, and humans backing them up. Namona had ordered her top warriors, the Harnezals, to protect the castle. But slowly the allied forces were moving forward clearing a path for Shika to get to the castle.
“This is not good.” Namona mumbled to herself after Shika disappeared through the castle doors. A few days ago the dark elf had received a vision of her, own shining death. Although she was now prepared for this event, she still did not want it to happen.
“My lady, Shika has made her way inside.” Zanon, Namona’s favorite henchman reported. “What are your orders?”
The dark queen turned to face her loyal servant with mischievous smile. “Let her come. I shall kill her myself.” A murderous look shining in dark purple eyes gave Zanon the chills.
“I shall do as you wish, my lady.” He bowed out and went to tell the guards of the new orders.
Namona returned to her window once the door was closed. The commotion from the battle outside was fueling her anger. “Come my daughter. This will be the last time we see each other.”
Several floors down Shika followed a trail of sparkly dust. She ran through the bleeding castle halls and up spiral staircases, careful not to slip, to the back right tower where the dust was leading her. An ominous feeling in her gut telling her something was not right here. It was too quiet. The only sounds were coming from her running steps and the squeaking of the empty black armor, used as security, as they turn to watch her run forward.
The rain started to pour heavily outside as Shika slowly drew near to the throne room, her bad feeling never leaving. Shika came to a stop at a double wooden door. She was leaning over slightly to catch her breath before the long a waited battle.
Namona hearing the panting outside the room made one more last minute preparation. She flicked her staff to create small black sparkle that zapped away all the furniture giving them plenty of room. She also killed the candles leaving the room in darkness except for what little light shone in from the outside.
A flash of lighting filled the room right when Shika kicked the door in, her emerald green eyes locked with Namona’s purple ones in a pure hated glare. “This is it mother,” Shika spat as she walked in. “I will not allow you to take over Hizal.”
Namona only smiled at her daughter’s determined expression. “It seems you are more like me than you think my child.” Namona was referring to the killer look in the green eyes that were glaring at her.
“I am nothing like you!” Shika yelled losing control of her temper. Soon a dark red energy surrounded Shika as her anger rose. Her hair flaring up in different direction as the energy grew. It rolled off her as a powerful wave throughout the room. The force knocked Namona back to the floor. Her eyes wide and she was shaking with fear as the energy continued to flood the room. Never has the evil queen felt such built up anger. Not even from her mysterious master. The wave continued to spread to throughout the room and blasted the walls and ceiling apart, the rubble and dust to fall everywhere creating a smoke screen in the area around the elves. The hallway outside the room became blocked and screams could be heard outside as debris fell on victims below. The rain and wind whipped around them, neither bothered by the cold.
Lighting flashed and thunder clapped as the two elves stared each other down. Each showing no emotions on their faces as the wind blow their long hair and dresses around them. They had their staff wands at the ready waiting for the smallest opening the other gave. Moments past where nothing happened except the two staring each other down. The only sound was from the raging war below and the elements above. Both knew this could be their last breath in this life.
Light filled the dark sky again and Shika took this moment to cast the first spell. “Freezing water ice spears!” Crystal spears started flying through the air. They cut through the rain making a straight path to their target.
Namona smirked as she watched the ice spears hurl her way. “Fire Wall” A great wall of flames appeared in front of the dark queen melting the ice spears. Steam rose when the rain drops landed in the fire, but that was the only effect the water had on the flames. “It will take a lot more than that to kill me child.”
“I know.” Shika began to twirl her staff in the air, chanting an ancient faerie spell. Her green eyes went unfocused as she concentrated on the spell. “Earth, fire, water, and air! Yami and Hikari! Hear my plea and lend your powers…” a soft pink light began to shine from the stick.
“What are you doing?” Fear shone clearly in Namona’s dark purple eyes. She knew this chant well. It was a forbidden spell. A spell that controlled a person until the task was completed and then it killed the caster. It was never to be used even in the most dangerous of situations. Even she, the dark queen, never thought of using it.
Shika ignored the question and continued to chant. “…I offer my life to the gods and goddesses so I shall defeat this evil darkness. Grant me your strength so the world can be saved!” The glow faded as lighting struck Shika when the last word passed her lips. Her body was surrounded by an unearthly glow. “Now you shall die.” her voice had taken on a haunted, eerie sound. It was Shika’s regular soft tone and a deeper more ghostly tone with it was clearly something not of this world. She dropped her staff and slowly stalked over to her mother. The once emotionless expression now glowed with a murderous smile. Green orbs became golden with a bloodlust stare. The new power gave her the ability to cast spells without a staff. She also had all the knowledge of every faerie spell.
Namona shrank back. She needed time to cast her spell if she hoped to live. It was a good thing for her that Shika was not in the right mind to remember the clone spell. “Power of Yami hear my call. Grant me illusions to trick my foe. Spare you loyal servant life by sending a copy to take my place.” A blackish purple orb surrounded Namona. “Teleportous!” Right after a loud creak was heard.
The battle outside was raging too. Swords sparked as they clashed against shields and armor. Blood splattered everywhere as people were mercilessly beheaded or gutted. Limbs were ripped off bodies and used to distract enemies from the real killing strike. The air slowly began to fill with the smell of blood and rotting corpses. And above all this noise a loud creak was heard from the sky. Mai and Nataku were forced back when the noise come. Their sword and spear and shields holding off their monstrous attackers as they briefly chatted.
“That doesn’t look good.” Nataku said referring to the light. “I wonder who cast that spell?”
“Don’t really care. But we should go give Shika some back up.” the neko replied.
“Then what are we doing here?”
The two leaders nodded to each other as they forced the evil troops away from them. With swift movements their swords slashed the deformed bodies in half killing the beasts. Blood splatter covered their armor, face, hair and weapons. Slowly they advanced slaughtering any enemy in their path as the two moved towards the dark crumbling castle.
“What is the point of that mother. It did nothing to me,” Shika informed as she continued to close the distance between them.
Namona smirked at her daughter’s ignorance. “Whoever said that all spells were to be used for attacks?” By now Shika was standing right in front of the dark queen ready for the killing strike. Neither knew of the audience that would catch the final act.
Mai and Nataku ran at full sprint to reach the top of the tower. Mai was following Shika’s scent to lead them. “It’s just up ahead.” the neko informed.
The leaders skidded to a halt as the hallway disappeared because of all the rubble and watched the elves fight. Shika was glowing with the unearthly glow. “This is not good.” Nataku groaned as he watched his friend cast a spell.
“Total hikari grace!” Shika whispered after placing a hand on Namona’s chest. A huge bright light burst out of her body as she was thrown back to where her staff lay forgotten. She lay on the floor unconscious.
Namona was surrounded by the heavenly bright light that blasted Shika away from her. Screams of pain filled the morning air as the light began to break through her body, the blood dissolved instantly in the light. When it faded she lay shriveled and dead on the ground.
“Shika!” both Mai and Nataku called as they jumped the barrier blocking them from their friend. They were ready to do whatever was possible to save her.
The elfin warrior lay on the ground with shallow breaths a look of peace on her face. “Shi, can you hear me?” Mai asked. Tears beginning to form in her eyes as her friend lay unresponsive. Mai took Shika’s hand as away to keep the elf planted in the living world
“Shika-san, please wake up. You defeated Namona. Hizal is saved thanks to you.” Nataku explained. But still Shika did not budge. She was lost in her own head.
“Young one?” a singsong voice called to Shika. “It’s time for you to wake up.”
Slowly her green orbs opened to see a pure white space. There was nothing here. No walls or ceiling or floor, Shika felt like she was floating. “Who are you?” she asked when a person appeared near her in this white nothingness. The lady was dressed in pure white robes with clear incandescent wings poking out from her back. Her warm small and gentle eyes had a look of sorrow in them as she looked at Shika.
“I am Fayt, a faerie. Do you know why I’m here?”
“Yes.” Shika replied in a sad tone. “I used the forbidden chant. Now I must sacrifice myself to pay my debt.”
Fayt gave a small nod. “You are right. But do not be afraid. Because of the sacrifice you have made for the world, your spirit shall live on in the faerie kingdom. And although you may never return to this world you will be allowed to aid your people in times of need. Now take my hand.”
“I just wish I could say good bye to my friends.”
“You may. Now just take my hand and I’ll do the rest.” Fayt’s kind smile reassured the elf. Shika took the offered faerie's hand. In a blinding light they disappeared.
Mai pulled her hand away from the elf. “Nataku, she’s burning hot.”
The human lord looked down in time to see his friend and fellow leader start to combust. The heat coming off the body was enough to singe hair without the person actually touching it. Mai jumped into Nataku’s arms as the tears finally broke free. Nataku was only able to hug the girl as she dug her claws into his leather armor. He was too busy trying to stop his own tears to give comforting words to the neko-jin. Both were so wrapped up in what was happened and trying not to puke with the cause of the burnt flesh smell, that neither noticed the fire taking a form. The searing heat faded to a dull warmth that felt like standing in the sun on a windy day, and the smell of burning flesh completely disappeared.
“My friends please do not be sad.” the fire image of Shika said. Mai and Nataku whipped their heads around at their friend’s voice. Shika smiled at them. “Mai you are too beautiful to cry, so please stop.” The neko nodded and wiped the tears away.
“Shika how is this possible?” Nataku asked being the first to find his voice.
“It’s a long story my friends. And may we one day be reunited so you can hear it. But know that I’m okay and will always look over Hizal.” Mai and Nataku were softly crying now. “And please tell my family that I love and miss them. And watch over Norax. He’s a bit of a trouble maker.” a light hearted laugh came from the flame image. “I must go now. Please take care my dearest friends.”
“You take care too Shika.” Mai whispered as the imaged disappeared. When the fire vanished all that remained was a pile of ash and Shika’s staff.
“She’s really gone.” Nataku murmured.
Mai bent down to pick up the staff. “There’s nothing left for us to do here. Let’s tell the forces the battle is over.”
Mai and Nataku walked back to the forces in silence, the death of a friend weighed heavily on their hearts.
Outside the allied forces were celebrating their strange victory. After seeing a bright light from above the monsters all disappeared into dust returning to the pits of hell where they came from. Only their armor and weapons lay on the ground. However everyone fell silent when Mai and Nataku solemnly walked out. Mai was hugging Shika’s staff for dear life.
“What happened?” one elf demanded.
The two leaders did not reply. They only down cast their eyes signifying a great loss. Those who saw this gasped in disbelief. The ones that were too far to notice started to whisper wondering what was going on. Slowly the news of Shika’s death spread throughout the ranks.
The three allied armies left the island of Ashura behind, saying a silent prayer for those who had died in this horrific bloody battle. Mai and Nataku were taking this time to mentally prepare themselves for delivering Shika’s tragic news to her husband and young son.

“Children what’s wrong?” Fayt asked noticing the tears falling from very child’s eyes.
“Its so sad.” one of the girls pointed out. “Why did Shika have to die?”
Fayt smiled at them. “Do not cry little ones. She was happy to give her life to protect everyone she cared about. She had no regrets doing that spell. Now shall I continue? Or have you heard enough for today?”
The children all gasped in shock. “Please continue Miss. Fayt.”
“All right then.”

The sky was over cast outside Hoix castle. The usually bright, smooth, gray stone walls seemed cold and dark under the weather. All the royals, nobles and even some commoners throughout Hizal had gathered in Deningrad, the Elf kingdom, for a memorable banquet in honor of Shika’s brave sacrifice. All the bright colorful decorations spread throughout the palace were taken down and replaced with cold and dark, like black clothes under black roses. The laugh of children running and playing in the halls was replaced with silent tears.
The guests had all gathered in the grand ball room so they could talk and move around freely without being squished together. In the back, hidden in shadows was a young neko-jin girl wearing a dark purple kimono. She had long wave sky blue hair tired up in pigtails. Her cat ears and tail were a soft shade of purple. Her ruby red eyes were following a young Elf male. Her face was making a ‘lost in thought’ expression.
The boy she was watching had long silver green hair tied back in a white silk ribbon leaving his bangs free to cast a shadow over his eyes. It was hiding the sorrowful sad look shining in his orbs. His clothes gave the impression that he was a high ranking noble or of royal blood. He was following his father around, going to the different groups to talk with them for a few minutes before moving on to the next group. He seemed uncomfortable having to do this.
Unknown to the neko-jin, she was being watched. A few feet away her mother, Karin, was talking with a group of women, her keen golden eyes never left her daughter’s form. Noticing the expression she decided to see if she could help. “Ladies it’s been nice.” she said with a slight bow and moved away.
“We’ll talk later.” one of the women called after the older neko-jin.
“Who are you watching Nii?”
Niisha jumped at hearing the voice. She wasn’t even aware that someone was near her. Let alone her mother. “Mother, don’t scare me like that!”
Karin giggled. “Were you lost in thought my little one?”
“Need you ask that?”
“No. Now tell me, who are you watching?”
Niisha pointed to the elf teen. “He seems uncomfortable, like he wants to be else where.”
“Ah, the young prince Norax, would you like to help him out?”
“I couldn’t,” Niisha replied. A heavy blush covered her cheeks.
Karin only smiled. Her daughter was a shy modest girl. “Don’t be silly. It’s not good for two young teenagers like you two to remain anti-social. Now come with me and I’ll introduce you to him.” Karin took a firm grip on her daughter’s wrist and carefully lead her through the crowd to where Norax and his father, Nepheral were talking with people.
Neph noticed the two Neko-jins approaching and quickly ended the conversation he was having. “Good day Lady Karin.” he greeted. “And who is this young lady?” he inclined his head towards Niisha.
“Hello Lord Nepheral.” a kind smile spread over Karin’s face. “Allow me to introduce my daughter, Niisha.” Her cat ears were pressed closed to her head and her tail was stiff between her legs, showing some of her embarrassment.
Nii gave a polite curtsy. “Hello My Lord.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Lady Niisha. Have you had the chance to meet my son, Norax, yet?”
Ruby eyes glanced into dark green ones. “Not yet My Lord.” she whispered never breaking the gaze and her cat ears began to perk and her tail lightly swished.
“It is my honor, Lady Niisha.” Norax greeted before gentle kissing her hand. A light blush soon covered her face.
“Oh no, the honor is mine your highness.”
Karin and Nepheral watched their children with knowing eyes. Although it as a sad occasion they were not going to let the teens pass this opportunity by. “Norax, don’t you think it will be a good idea to show Lady Niisha around the gardens? There’s no reason you two should have to remain here bored to tears.” Neph suggested.
“But father…”
Neph raise his hand to stop all protests. “Don’t worry about a thing. Now the weather is clearing up so take this nice young lady out for a pleasant stroll.”
“I think that is a lovely idea. Go on Nii. Have some fun.”
After a few more long moments of getting pestered by their parents, Nii and Norax were walking around the garden. The sky had fully cleared so the stars where twinkling down on them. The night dew sparkled in the moon light giving the area a mystical glow without magical lights. They strolled around for a while talking about anything and everything, just getting to know each other.
“Lord Norax, this place is so beautiful.” Niisha admitted when they came a fountain.
“Please Lady Niisha, just call me Norax. I do hate this titles placed on me.” An embarrassed little blush tainted his cheeks.
Niisha giggled. “I too hate those irksome titles. So Norax what shall we do now?”
“Do you like to cause trouble?” A sly smirk crossing his face, his eyes glancing over to the window in a way Nii’s followed his glance.
“What are you thinking?”
“Just follow my lead.” Norax replied and gentle pulled Niisha back to the castle.
The two teens had found a prefect spot in the ball room for their parents to watch their little prank but not notice their faces. “Are you ready?” Norax asked in Nii’s ear.
“I’m not too sure about this.” On the way inside he explained that he wanted to get all the servants and guests gossiping about a little romance springing up at a bad time.
“Don’t worry Niisha. This snooze fest needed some lightening up.”
“Alright then, I’ll do it.”
Norax began to lean in close to Niisha for a kiss. At first everyone paid it no mind thinking it was going to be just a little peck on the cheek. But then he didn’t move away so the gossip started floating around thanks to one of the noisy servants.
Soon the rumors were being heard near King Nepheral and Niisha’s parents. The three adults turned to see their children were locked in a fierce tongue battle in the middle of the room. Nii had one hand buried in silver green locks and the other wrapped from his lower back to his shoulder holding him close to her. Her tail swooshed happily behind her. His hands were both circling her back with one looking like it was a bit too far south. Norax smiled when he noticed the attention from the people he wanted it from. “They’re looking.” he whispered.
Niisha giggled. “When shall we run?”
“Wait for my dad to start yelling at us.”
“Norax what do you think you are doing! Show some respect,” Nepheral began to yell
from where he was standing, before trying to stomp over to the teen. Karin was standing there mortified at her daughter’s behavior, until her husband tugged the sleeve of her kimono getting her to follow them. They wanted their children to get along, but what they were doing was completely inappropriate for the occasion.
“Looks like it’s time to run Nii-chan.” Norax moved away grabbing Nii’s hand and began to pull her out of the room. Neph, Karin and her husband were quickly following the teens.
“Where are we going?” Niisha asked as she was lead up the stairs.
“I would have to say this way.” He pointed in the direction they were running. “I have an escape route upstairs. It leads to my secret hiding place. I think you’ll like it.”
The teens ran around several for several long minutes hearing their parents yelling behind them to stop. Nor lead the way corners and back tracked down different hallways and up a few flights of stairs to throw the adults off their trail. Eventually, once the shouts following them were no longer heard, Norax opened a door to a small tower closet on the fourth floor. “Why are we in here?” Nii questioned.
Norax ignored the questioned as he searched the wall for a loose stone. “Here it is.” He removed a large stone revealing a slide down the tower. “Niisha this will lead to behind the castle near the forest. From there we can get to my secret place.”
“Lead on then.”
Norax crawled in into the small space first, quickly disappearing down the twisting smooth stones of the slide. Niisha went in not long after, when she couldn’t hear Nor’s screams of pleasure anymore. The end spit them out a few feet above the ground in front of a forest. And lucky for Nii, Norax had gone first and was able to catch her as she came shooting out of the hole.
Norax lead Niisha into the forest. He cast a pink fire orb spell that floated above his hand so they could see the path and not trip over the tree roots. The fallen leaves and pine needles crunched under their feet. They stopped just as a huge tree with a dug out hole came into view. “Wait here and close your eyes.”
“Okay.” Niisha closed her ruby eyes and place a hand over them so Norax wouldn’t think she was peeking.
He walked over to the large tree and mumbled another spell inside, soon after he returned to Niisha. “Come with me.” he said taking her hand again and leading her inside the tree. “You can open your eyes now.”
Niisha opened her eyes to see multiple colored lights shine down at them, each one casting different shapes on the walls. The lower pictures were a variety of sea and land animals. And up higher were flying creatures, everything from small common birds to mystical dragons. Although the picture lights weren’t needed since the walls were already covered with beautifully framed paintings. It was everything from portraits to complex landscape scenery. To put it simply it was breathtaking.
“Do you not like it?” Norax questioned when Niisha didn’t say anything.
“It’s beautiful.” she explained continuing to look at the paintings. “Did you draw all these?”
“It’s a little hobby of mine. You really like them?”
“They’re lovely. You must have spent a lot of time working on them. The details are exceptional.” Niisha was looking at one in particular of a woman. She had long light blonde hair and emerald eyes that seemed to shine even on the canvas. Her smile was like Noxar’s, kind and warm. “She’s beautiful. Who is she?”
“She’s my mother.” Norax looked at the ground as happy memories of painting this picture flooded his mind.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you sad.”
Norax shook his head pushing the memories away. “You didn’t. You just reminded of some good times I had. There is nothing to be sorry about.”
A silence filled the room as Niisha looked over the others. Most were of landscapes during the different seasons. Some of those contained different wildlife creatures. Her favorite was a simple one of a snow covered field with the bunnies. The others where just pictures of objects in the castle, or domesticated animals or just random villagers. “You truly are an expert at this Norax. They all seem to capture your subjects with a life like feel.”
“Thanks.” he murmured turning his head to hide his blush. “But this is nothing compared to what my sensei can do. He’s the real expert.”
“Don’t be silly Nor. You are a truly gifted artist. Back home we have no one this good.”
“That might be true Niisha,” he turned to look in her eyes, “but these are nothing compared to the beauty I’m looking at.” he whispered out loud instead of keeping it in his head. “I just said that out loud? Didn’t I?”
Niisha nodded. “I should probably return to the castle. It’s getting late.”
Norax wanted to shoot himself for his the stupid mistake. If he could have kept his thoughts to himself better then Niisha might not be as uncomfortable now. “I’ll walk you back then.” he sounded a bit dejected.
Niisha didn’t miss the sound of his tone. “Norax I did have fun today.” The smile on her face proved she wasn’t lying.
“Do you think we can see each other again?”
“I’d like that. I’ll be staying in the castle until my parents leave in a few weeks. So I’ll see you around sometime.”
“Sounds like a plan to me.”
When the teens made it back the castle it was past midnight. The banquet was over and everyone, including their parents, had gone to bed. Apparently running around the castle searching for them, tired the adults out quickly. Only a few dim lights remained on incase someone decided to get a late night snack or just couldn’t sleep and wanted a walk. Norax decided to do the gentlemanly thing and walked Nii to her room.
“Goodnight Lady Niisha. Sleep well.” he whispered before kissing her hand.
“You too Lord Norax. See you in the morning.” she smiled at the prince before closing her door. This was the best day of her life because of the young prince.
Norax walked back to his room in a trance like state. He was thinking about all the fun he had had with Niisha and all the more fun they could have. Deep in his heart he was wishing that they could remain together forever.

“That was so cute.” all the girl faeries squealed. The boys had a look of disgust. Fayt laughed at the different reactions.
“I‘m afraid that is all I can do today children. I must be off to meet a friend.”
“Aw, must you leave Miss Fayt? Cant you tell us one more battle story?” a boy with dark brown hair asked.
The old faerie gave a sad look. “I’m afraid not today little ones. I was supposed to meet a friend a little while ago. Now go play and have fun. Maybe tomorrow I can tell you more stories.”
The children cheered at the thought of more later. “Thank you Miss Fayt.” they said before running off to play.
“Good bye children,” Fayt called back as she began strolling along the road to where she was supposed to meet her friend.
“You seemed to be having fun.” Fayt jumped at the voice.
“Shika how long were you standing here?”
The Elf shrugged. “I was here long enough to hear how my son and daughter-in-law got together. It was very entertaining.”
“So you didn’t mind waiting for me?”
“Fayt I’d rather you tell the children stories then refuse them for me.”
“Thank you my friend. Now shall we go to my house and talk?” Shika nodded and the two
women headed off to the faerie’s house.
Fayt made sure the house was securely locked and no one was around. If this news got out then the whole kingdom would be panicking. “Shika I trust you have been sensing the growing dark power.” the good humored tone in the faerie’s voice from telling stories was gone and replaced with a dead serious one.
“I have. What do you think it means?”
“I believe the Dark Lord is making his move sooner than expected. But it’s not only him; it appears that Namona survived the battle of old.”
Shika had a look of horror on her face. “How is that possible? I killed her using the eternal light spell. She should be dead.”
“The Dark Lord must have found some way to protect her. But that doesn’t matter. What does is that she is alive and beginning to gather her forces for his evil purpose.”
“This is not good. Has the child of prophecy been born yet?”
“No. But she should be born soon.”
“Is there any way we can protect the child after she is born?”
“Shika relax. I will send a message to Mondra. From there it will be up to Norax and Niisha to do as they wish. All we can do is watch from here and send messages when the time comes.”
“But what if they don’t listen?”
“We just have to pray that they do.”

“We just have to pray that they do.”
thanx much guys for reading my first chapter. i hope you enjoyed and please review.
