His Smell

His Smell
You miss the way he smells, the way he talks, the way he walks
You miss the looks, the kisses, touches, that greeted you each morning
Tears seem never ending reminding you of all you’ve lost
Sitting alone on summer days, remembering sweat glistened arms
That caressed you.
His smiles brightened your life; his laughter lifted your spirit
His touch sent shivers down your spine, you surrender lost
You know the taste of him, the sweet nectar of his essence
It burns to know this taste is no longer yours to own
You shudder at your loneliness
The house smells different now that he is gone
Dandelions fill the air, its smell disgust you
Tears still come on cold winter nights
You miss not the arms that encircled you
But the smell that surrounded you
