Slaughter
**************************
Harsh are the words that come out of your mouth
Stabbing, ripping are your words, uncouth
Slaying every speck of esteem
Hardly any space left to dream
Spitting and hissing,
And whipping too
I long have stopped begging
And can only woe
Attempting to explain, to defend myself
I might as well talk to a shelf
The answer I get is always the same
Painful whacks at me you aim
And yet you insist that I stand my ground
How can I whilst suffering from your words profound
Insist that I speak out, voice out my mind
Psh, sure I do, but you remain blind
This is a give-and-take-issue, sorry dude
I only see one participant, don’t want to be rude
Remaining passive, I bear every blow
Your effort only spared to make me feel low
Miserable in speech, quiet scapegoat
Bending to your will, watching you gloat
I find the only solace to escape
Here, in my writing, where my worth you can’t scrape.
