Epitaph

This is MY poem. I wrote this.
This poem is pretty obvious in its content and its meaning.
But then, I'd liek to see how this comes onto poeple, and how they interpret this.

Enjoy the read.

Epitaph

See the eagle rise above the open plain
Golden in the morning glow
Beneath it the sun doesn’t reach the ground
The grass flowing, flick’ring below…

See the clouds arrive above the open plain
Ashen with sorrow and pain
Bearing with them news of loss and chagrin
Tagging behind them, not wanting to let go…

See the shadows grow and spread in the open plain
Brimmed with regret and mourning
Bringing sombre mem’ries in their wake
Raining down coolly, crying and hopeless…

Hear the cries and tears rising from the open plain
Hues drowned down by the dark
Lay down on the land, dark, cold, sheltered
Covered from the warmth of the Sun…

The cliffs up high sing
The boulders hum along
The pebbles tingle
The caves woe their song

So high above all
They offer shelter
They will enfold you
Mineral comfort…

Can you see the darkness flowing in the open plain
Can you feel the dying beat
Touch your forehead against the cold slab so old
Can you still not hear their cries?

See the battle rise, here, in the open plain
See the sad glow of the Moon
Can you feel the gash and the weight of hurt
Can you see the gash on the tomb?

See the eagle soar in the open plain
See the eagle glide down the Land
Watch as he circles the shadowed, bloodied soil
Feel how he mourns such loss…

See the eagle land on the open plain
See the crumbs of white fall off
See how the shadows linger in his eyes
See his clutch on the Epitaph…
