The Thorn and The Rose
Okay, this is the first time I’ve let anyone read this poem so if you review please by nice. The text with the * around it is the demon speaking. The text without the * around it is the angel speaking. This poem contains slash. It also probably contains spelling errors. Any flames will be fed to the dragon living under my bed.
THE THORN AND THE ROSE
*He was the light to my dark
The purity to my sin
The sanity to my madness*
He was the temptation to my once stable world
The wave that overwhelmed my senses
The shadows entrancing
*He was the holiness that enthralled me so
I saw him bathed in sunlight
And my stone heart cracked and shattered
He was the innocence to my tainted soul
He was the only one to keep my interest*
He was the flame that consumed my dreams
I saw him basking in the moonlight
And my thoughts became his
I was confused
I couldn’t understand
Why did I care so much for him
*He as like a dove
A frightened, fragile thing
The first time I held him, kissed him
My long dead heart fluttered
And started to beat*
He was like the sea
Untamable and wild
The first time he held me, kissed me
My hear beat faster, my soul soared
I was overcome by the passion
In that love hidden as lust
*He was so beautiful, so gorgeous
That night I made him mine
My heart seemed like it would break
I knew then I loved him
When I saw the love shinning in his eyes
I knew I’d give him anything*
He was so gentle, so kind
That night he made me his
I could barely breath for the joy
I looked into his eyes
Saw the love for me there
And knew I’d sacrifice everything for him
*He was my world
My sole reason for living
On the day we left together
I pledged my life to him*
He was my life
The only thing that kept my heart beating
On the day we left together
I pledged my life to him
*That night as he lay in my arms
I thought of how my life had changed
My soul still rests in the dark
But he’s tainted it white
I realized I’d go anywhere for him, do anything
I whispered to him while he slept
“To you I give my heart to hold”*
That night as he held me
I thought of how my life had changed
My soul still rests in the light
But he’s tainted it black
I realized that I would do anything to stay with him, no matter what
I heard his whispered words, let my heart rest in their gentle caress
And whispered back my own,
“To you I give my heart to possess”
