Nemo/Siren Teaser

Nemo stood gazing blankly out the window, one hand rested lightly on the kitchen counter, a half filled glass of water held in the other. He brought the glass to his lips, absently sipping the cool liquid as he watched the traffic go by on the street below. It was the evening rush hour, all the working folks heading home to their families for the night. The idea made Nemo feel strangely lonely. The concept of going home to a loving family was something he’d never know.
He sighed and took another sip of water, stretching his wings restlessly. They were stiff from disuse, and not for the first time since his exile Nemo thought about driving out to some remote country area where there would be no risk of someone seeing him flying.
Just the thought of flight made him long to feel the wind on his face, to know again the freedom that been so harshly taken from him. Nemo closed his eyes, and for a few moments was lost in memory.

The sound of bare feet slapping softly on the kitchen tiles brought him back to reality, and he turned to see Siren standing in the doorway. The pale Angel was watching him, an almost worried frown marring his delicate face, and he seemed hesitant to come any further into the room.

“Siren, is something wrong?” Nemo eyed the other man carefully, still uneasy to have him living in the same house. He didn’t trust him, and although Siren had been quite docile the past few weeks, there was no telling when he might snap again.

Siren sighed, blowing aside a lock of snowy hair that had fallen across his face. He appeared genuinely bothered by something, and after a few moments he moved to join Nemo at the window.

“I wish it would rain.” He turned to Nemo, a faint smile curving his lips. “Do you remember when we danced in the rain? I was so happy that day ...”

Nemo shifted uncomfortably, knowing Siren must be referring to an experience he’d had with Lunar. Refusing to look at the other man and keeping his eyes focused on the road outside the window, Nemo said softly;

“That wasn’t me Siren. I’m not Lunar. I’m his brother, remember?”

“What?” The frown returned to Siren’s face and he tilted his head to one side, studying Nemo with slightly clouded eyes.

Nemo bit his lip, afraid the unpredictable Angel was going to turn on him. The hand that still held the glass of water began to shake, and Nemo quickly set it down, cursing his fear. But he was well aware that if Siren chose to, he could easily kill him. Siren was still immortal. Nemo was not.
Forcing himself to meet Siren’s pale eyes, Nemo was surprised to find them clear again, a brief gleam of violet shimmering in their depths as he moved his head.

“I’m sorry, I forgot ...” Siren dropped his eyes to the floor briefly, and when he lifted them again they were wide and bright with unshed tears. “Solei ... I’m so scared!”

Nemo’s breath caught in his throat. He wasn’t sure what shocked him more - Hearing his real name, hearing Siren admit to being afraid, or seeing the childlike innocence on the Angel’s face. He shifted his stance, wanting to comfort Siren, but still wary to be anywhere near him.

“What are you scared of?”

“Myself.” Wide eyes, colourless once more, blinked at him. “What’s happened to me? I feel like I’ve been shattered into tiny pieces, like glass ...” His breath hitched and he blinked furiously to prevent the tears from spilling down his cheeks. “And I’m all alone ... Help me Solei ... Please. Please help me?”

“Oh, Siren ...” Pushing aside his fears, Nemo drew the shorter man against his chest, rubbing his back in slow, soothing circles. “It’ll be okay. I’ll help you, I promise.”

“Don’t promise!”

The startled desperation in Siren’s voice made Nemo shy away. Abandoning the embrace and backing up against the counter, the wariness returned to his eyes.

“What -”

“Just don’t promise. It’s a lie. He lied ...” He shuddered, battling with his sanity. When he felt he’d regained some semblance of control, Siren stepped forward, closing the short distance Nemo had created between them. “You won’t lie to me, will you Solei?” A pale hand lifted to stroke the midnight black hair that fell about Nemo’s face. “You won’t lie to Siren ...”

“Of course not.” Nemo said softly, feeling the hard edge of the counter pressing against his backside as he tried to move further away from Siren. His wings twitched, the long flight feathers dragging on the tiled floor, and he desperately sought for a way to escape the situation he’d unwittingly trapped himself in.
Apparently happy with the response, Siren smiled and moved a cool hand to Nemo’s cheek, lightly tracing the contours of his face.

“You’re a good man. Better than your brother. I should have been with you all along.” Siren’s fingertips glided over Nemo’s lips, then along the line of his jaw to toy with the silver hoop through one earlobe. “Do you love me Solei? Do you want to be with Siren?”

Siren’s touch made his skin tingle, and that, coupled with the beautiful, lean body so close to his own began to rouse long forgotten desires. Yes, in a much earlier time Nemo had lusted over his brother’s lover. He had fantasised about what it would be like to kiss that sensitive mouth, to feel those slender artistic hands gliding over his body. But that was before he had met Phoenix, and learned the difference between lust and love.

“Siren I can’t ...” Nemo averted his gaze, unable to look into the other man’s eyes. “I still love Phoenix. And what about Lunar? You know he loves you. And you still care for him.”

If Nemo had expected Siren to get angry, he was to be disappointed. The pale Angel merely observed him quietly for a time, then took his face between both hands and forced him to meet his gaze.

“Phoenix and Lunar aren’t here. It’s just us ... Don’t you feel lonely? Don’t you want to feel that you’re not alone, if only for a little while?” Siren sniffed and blinked back tears. “I don’t want to be alone. I’m afraid, and you promised you’d take care of me.”

Nemo didn’t have time to think of a response, let alone speak one. Before he could react Siren was leaning towards him and placing a soft, chaste kiss upon his lips. It was so different to the previous times Siren had kissed him. Before he’d been aggressive and violent, his actions fueled by madness. But this time ... This time he was gentle and undemanding. The man Nemo had longed to know all those years ago. The man his brother had fallen in love with.

“Siren stop.” Nemo turned his head away, stoically ignoring the stirring Siren’s kiss had brought to his groin. This had to end now. “I can’t do this. Move out of the way.”

“Why?” Siren tilted his head, confused. “You promised ...” His voice trailed off and suddenly he was a child again, lost and desperately seeking assurance. “Don’t you care about me?”

“Of course I care about you, it’s just -”

“Then why? You let me touch you before, why won’t you let me do it now, when I’m not even trying to hurt you?” Siren pouted, his hands rested on the counter either side of Nemo’s waist, refusing to let him escape. “Do you want me to hurt you?” This was asked with genuine confusion, though it could easily have been a threat, had Siren been in a less vulnerable state.

“No, I don’t.” Nemo said quickly, though his wings twitched again and an image of himself with his wrists bound and Siren forcing him into submission came unbidden to his mind, making him grow harder. As he tried to think of something more to say, he noticed something subtle shift in Siren’s eyes. They didn’t grow murky as they would if he was losing his grip on his mind, but they did lose that shimmer of innocence and vulnerability.

“I think, you don’t know what you want.” Siren said slowly, long fingered hands moving from the counter to rest on Nemo’s hips. “You want Siren to decide for you, don’t you Solei.” It was a statement, not a question. When Nemo began to protest, Siren silenced him with a kiss, this one more forceful than the last. His tongue forced its way into the other man’s mouth, tasting the hot wetness within, while his hands delved under Nemo’s shirt and pressed flat against his stomach.

Nemo closed his eyes and struggled to suppress the groan that rose in his throat. This was wrong, he had to make it stop. But the feel of Siren’s hands working their way up his chest was so distracting, the taste of his kiss intoxicating. Nemo couldn’t remember why it was so wrong.
Cool fingers brushed over one already hardened nipple, making him shudder. He felt Siren smile, even as the Angel pulled away from his lips and turned his attention to his neck, kissing and sucking the skin from earlobe to collar bone.

“Siren -”

“Be quiet.”
