Of Good an Evil
“I’m sick of being alone.” He spoke to no one in particular stretching his wings out behind him in the breeze. The pure white feathers ruffling and singing in the morning air as it welcome its creator. The ocean below the cliff he stood on sparkled and danced at his presence.
“Alone however you shall always be, that is the price of the position you took” came a calm and cold voice from his left. Turning he came face to face with his practical twin who watched him with eyes blacker than night. Black hair pale skin and membranous wings the man was something else altogether. Possessing the same unnatural beauty as he did the darker side of himself was more suited to his position.
“No one asked you” he sneered turning his back.
“I know,” whispered his twin running a black nailed hand along his tanned waist pulling the man against him. Both figures in perfect contrast, black and white, beautiful and seductive, good and evil, both cursed in opposite ways.
Hooking one arm under his feathered wings the dark man pulled him into a deep and deadly kiss trying to devour him. Fighting franticly against the other man he managed to break the contact coughing and spluttering. Feeling as though he was going to be sick form the taint of the other he did nothing but glare.
“You bastard,” he snarled angrily.
“Now, now my dear… we can’t have God swearing now can we, after all brother… aren’t you supposed to be above all that.” He smirked licking his lips.
“Go to hell,” sneered the white winged man again making the other laugh.
“I’m sorry my dear, I don’t feel like going back to work just yet. After all if God can rest would it not make sense his twin damned brother should be able to do so as well?” the black haired man turned on the blond catching the light hair in his hand letting it run through his fingers. “After all are we really so different you and I.” he asked, the membrane in his wings stretching as he shifted the massive appendages subconsciously.
God pulled away angrily glaring at the man, over head storm clouds rumbled and below the sea began to turn deadly in response to his feelings.
“Yes we are Devil, now stay away from me I’m warning you.” He growled as thunder cracked over head. Again the other just laughed before spreading his wings to there full extent challenging the storm and the sea as it raged below.
“Do not call me Devil you know my real name is Satan if anything and I despise the others. However I am curious to this warning dear twin, after all being God as you are you can’t technically do anything to me… can you? Well that is apart from threatening me with storms and such. However I on the other hand…” he stepped closer to God those all black eyes still regarding him. An arm shot out trying to wrap around his waist again, God only just managed to dodge it.
“Satan stay the fuck away from me. You know the damn rules so just fuck off.” He screamed at his brother in rage another bolt of lightning cracked through the once calm sky. Satan sighed he knew his brother hated him when he was like this but this was how he always would be.
“God, I’m sorry… you know how things are.” He sighed in defeat not wanting the fight that was defiantly going to erupt if he kept things up. The last time they had fought the Earth had been plagued by natural disasters to say the least. Neither of them wanted to have that happen, God because it forced him to make hard choices, Satan because it required too much work.
“Please… I promise I won’t kiss you, I’ll keep my taint to myself. I just… please just let me hold you. I hate seeing you like this you know that.” He half whispered almost pleadingly. He knew why God was here his twin always came to this or other likely spots when he was feeling down. Satan hated seeing the beautiful man in turmoil, hated seeing those blue eyes looking so sad yet he rarely offered comfort.
“How am I supposed to trust you?” whispered the blonde as rain began to fall from the sky and the rumbling of the storm died down.
“Have I ever not kept my word on that?” he asked cautiously, making sure to pick his words carefully.
What he was about to do was wrong and he knew that but God didn’t care. Despite it all his brother was the only one who could ever comfort him when he was like this. All the angels in heaven could try but they could never compare to how it felt to be wrapped in his twins arms. Dropping his eyes to the ground he gave a nod giving into the one thing that would make him feel better.
Satan watched the most powerful being in this world admit defeat realising yet again that he needed what his brother offered to rarely. Closing the small gap he slid his arms under the pristine white wings and pulled God against his chest. Slowly and finally his twins’ powerful arms snaked their way up his back wrapping around him just below his own contrasting wings. With a sigh Satan nuzzled his head against the others tanned neck content to be lost in the pure scent that was so unlike any one else’s. His body relaxed the months of tension in his muscles seeming to drain away as he stood there holding the only man who understood what he went through day by day.
They must have stood that way for hours or they would never have been interrupted the only side that would dare knowing better. Behind them a slight disturbance to the air brought Satan’s head up so he could look over his shoulder. Standing there small winged and horned was a very confused looking Demon obviously not sure what to do. God shifted in his arms curious to know what had possibly caught his brother’s attention. Looking between the two bat like leather wings he cursed and shoved away from the embrace. His wings ruffling in fury as he looked at the Demon and then at Satan, trying hard not to let his anger affect the world. Anger and shame could do horrible things to the weather coming from their keeper.
“You bastard,” he sneered before spreading those magnificent wings and vanishing.
Satan sighed before turning his attention fully on his minion to find out what he really wanted.
