Darkness and Light
The stars shine in a darkened sky
The moon dances between you and I
Here we stand so close yet so far apart
The only sound the beating of our hearts
Ribbons of darkness are my shield
From your arms wishing me to yield
Tendrils of moonlight are your sword
That would make you my hearts lord
Here we dance and here we spin
Our love a dangerous sin
Darkness yearning for the light
In a deep star filled night
Hold me close and feel my heart
Pray the gods do not make us part
For shadow plies within my veins
Your Brightness lighting forested lanes
Hold me within your loving arm
Shield me from those who wish me harm
Banish the shadow over my heart
That will slowly tear us apart
Here we dance and here spin
Our love a dangerous sin
Darkness yearning for the light
In a deep star filled night
