Memory of Love
Night descends to a gem riddled sky
Arm in arm you face a lovely sight
A cloak of shadowy darkness over you and I
Together we dance under the moons light
Forever seems your love will be mine
As life passes by with gentle care
Your smile as radiant as sunshine
My eyes giving a loving stare
One night I find you gone
Nowhere are you to be found
I run about in my gown
Then I hear a tinkling sound
It is you and another I discover
Arm arm just as we used to be
Under the nights dark cover
My heart not wanting to believe
Light shifts as they stand in the night
Shadows leaving as the moon shines
Revealing the woman’s face to my sight
Revealing a visage of familiar lines
Wrinkled fingered touch an aged face
As weary eyes study a youthful mirror
It is myself standing in your embrace
Shaking me to my souls core
I stare in awe and wonder
A sorrowed tear falling with a splash
My love and me and not another
Only to have the image shatter like glass
Now I lay here all alone
Remembering how your life passed
My sweet lover long gone
My eyes closing to join you at long last
Arm in arm you face a lovely sight
A cloak of shadowy darkness over you and I
Together we dance under the moons light
Forever seems your love will be mine
As life passes by with gentle care
Your smile as radiant as sunshine
My eyes giving a loving stare
One night I find you gone
Nowhere are you to be found
I run about in my gown
Then I hear a tinkling sound
It is you and another I discover
Arm arm just as we used to be
Under the nights dark cover
My heart not wanting to believe
Light shifts as they stand in the night
Shadows leaving as the moon shines
Revealing the woman’s face to my sight
Revealing a visage of familiar lines
Wrinkled fingered touch an aged face
As weary eyes study a youthful mirror
