Prologue:

*DISCLAIMER: This is mine ALL mine!!! MINE MINE MINE... don't use my idea, my characters. Unless you get my permission... which I don't see happening.

*Summary: I know where the story is going, but if I give a proper summary it will reveal too much too soon. There is vampire romance, revenge... deaths a plenty... domination. bit of Adrian and Jonathan's story will be told in flashback in later chapters.

And at the moment I am not sure how explicit things will get.

update: The story is about Adrian's daughter.. and Jonathan will be around. And maybe I can do Adrian and Jonathan's story as a prequel? let me know what you think?

Prologue:

“Adrian let me in!” Jonathan yelled frantically pounding on the heavy wooden door, normally he would have splintered the door into toothpicks but this one was spelled and even he couldn’t get in by force. Getting no response from the other side of the door he resorted to begging. “Please… let me in. You can’t do this… ”

“Go away!” Adrian’s normally smooth voice was twisted and harsh, full of pain and mental anguish.

“Leave me Jon… there’s nothing you can say or do to change my mind.” Came the mental reply as if speaking were too much effort, with the sending of the thought came more information than he’d meant to share with Jonathan. So much pain, and hunger, Adrian was on the edge of madness! Jonathan recoiled from the door as if it suddenly burst into flames.

“Good God! How is it that they kept this from me for so long?” He moaned. Adrian… please release the protection lock from the door, let me in… Please talk to me! It had to be done, don’t you see? It was to save you! There was no reply.

“ADRIAN! YOU OPEN THIS GOD DAMNED DOOR NOW!” Jonathon thundered punching at the door driving splinters of wood into his hand and leaving bloody dents in the door. “You DARE to defy a direct order from your SIRE?”

“What are you going to do about it? Kill me?” Adrian countered. “Mind the splinters, they hurt like a son of a bitch!”

He had a point! Damn him!

“I’ll stand out here doing whatever the hell I want dammit!” He threw all the power of his body against the door, shaking it on its hinges, but not breaking through. Again he threw his body against the door; he grunted in pain, but reared back to slam into the door yet again. He could feel Adrian weakening; eventually the door would give under the assault. “Open the door…and let me in.”

“Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!” (giggles) Go away Jon!” Now there was anger. THUD! “Damn, I must have forgotten the do not disturb sign..” (sigh) THUD! “Oh dear, he’s going to huff and puff my door down!” (more laughter)

“Please Adrian... just talk to me for a few minutes…” Jonathan leaned heavily on the door, panting from his exertions. “If you still want to die after that, I promise I’ll leave.”

“You promise?” Adrian finally whispered.“ If Jonathan gave his word on something he never went back on it.

“I promise!” Jonathan ground out. The spell fell away like a shroud, Jonathan pushed the door open with his fingertips. The room was dark, but he didn’t need light to make out Adrian’s form twisted and lying in his bed. “My God! Adrian what have you done?” Jonathan asked sharply.

“I’ve chained myself to this bed.” Adrian laughed stating the obvious and held up one slender bruised wrist, the chains attached to him clinked loudly shattering the silence of the room.

“I see that..” Jonathan held his temper in check, now was not the time for that. “But why have you done this to yourself?”

“Diana died, Jon…” Tears streamed down Adrian’s face; his breath hitched as he fought against losing control.

“I’m so sorry Adrian…” Jonathan murmured. Diana had been the love of Adrian’s life, but in time he’d deal with his grief there was no need for this torturous death. “When?”

“Right after delivering my daughter…” Fresh sobs wracked Adrian’s emaciated body but he smiled and proclaimed. “I’m a daddy!”

“Holy… mother of… God…” Jonathan whispered; absorbing all the information he was being fed with a mixture of emotions. “Congratulations.”

“On WHAT JON?!” Adrian surged forward snapping to a stop at the end of his chain only inches from Jon’s face, a snarl on his lips. “I’m a god damn vampire now! How do I raise a child? They need things I can’t provide!” He sagged back onto the bed leaning on the headboard. “Things like school, and they like to go outside and play! They need sunlight!” Adrian bowed his head and moaned. "I’ve lost everything…”

“How long have you been without feeding?” Jon asked carefully, he could tell it had been days at least.

Adrian turned away staring over Jon’s shoulder, refusing to answer.

“Clearly you are not thinking rationally… how long has it been?” Jon asked again this time compelling Adrian to answer him. “I’ll rip those chains out of the wall and force feed you if I have to!” He threatened.

Adrian stared at him dully before answering. “A week…”

Jonathan sucked in a breath with a hiss; in a flash his hands were on the chains straining to break them.

“I spelled them before you came in.” Adrian barked out a harsh laugh. “I’m not stupid you know.”

“The HELL you’re not!” Jonathan growled pacing the length of Adrian’s bed. “You have a daughter; she’ll need her father now that her mother is gone.”

"My sister has her... she'll be fine without me.“ Adrian argued then looked up with accusing eyes. “I didn’t ask for this Jonathan!”

“I know you didn’t… and I’m sorry. ” Jonathan withered. “When they brought you in mangled by those mongrels… I didn’t know what to do! You were dying in my arms; I just didn’t want to lose you…”

“You have anyway.” Adrian sighed, turning away from him. “Now… leave me alone.”

“But, I love you Adrian!” Jonathan declared. “I can’t watch you do this to yourself!”

“Then don't! You made me a promise…” Adrian reminded him softly. “Now… go… please!”

Tears burned in Jonathan’s eyes, he hadn’t cried in centuries! He blinked furiously fighting the unfamiliar burning sensation. He forced himself with halting movements to walk away from Adrian’s bed and slowly towards the door.

“Jonathan?” Adrian called out suddenly.

“Yes, Adrian!?” Jonathan turned toward him, hope flaring briefly in his heart.

“If you truly love me…” Adrian began. “You’ll open the drapes before you leave.”

Without a word Jonathan strode over to the windows and with one hand ripped the entire curtain hardware out of the wall. Heavy velvet material slithered to the floor around him; when he turned around, tears rolled freely down his cheeks and then he was gone. The door slammed shut behind him, but he didn’t go far.

He slid down the splintered door surface driving bits of wood deep into his flesh.

“I love you too…” Adrian whispered.
