Frantically, she pulled her arms back one by one and shoved them forward, ripping in, pushing down down down. It wouldn't stay in, it kept coming out. Swelling, growing, curling around her hands every time she touched it.
Why wouldn't it just stay away?!
Footsteps. She froze; the thing surged, grabbing at her hands, pulling her forward. She shrieked, ripping her hands away, slamming them into the thing rapidly. Warmth splattered her; she whimpered as a large chuck hit her eye.
The door opened. Jerking, she grabbed the top of the trunk and slammed it shut. It buckled against her grip; gasps, not her own, sounded in her ears.
"What the hell happened here?" She whirled around, grip loosening on the lid.
"I can't make it go away," she cried, lost. It surged, bursting from the steamer trunk, ruined arms wrapping around her body. Her eyes felt dead; blood ran down her hands to pool onto the floor.
A mouth at her neck; tears down her face.
It pulled, fingers boring holes into her shoulders. She let it, not wincing as it drew her into the steamer trunk and the darkness.
