Laura’s lips closed in on hers, and
begged entrance to her mouth.  Her eyes closed
and she pressed her body against the other girl’s.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Laura kissed a trail down her neck and
nibbled on her collarbone.

Joelle’s
shirt was gone in an instant, followed by her bra.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  She wasn’t sure what happened to it, but she
could now feel her friend’s bare hand on her breast, feeling about.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Laura was clearly new to this, but that
didn’t matter to Joelle.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Joelle simply
adjusted Laura’s hand and her movements.

Joelle
fiddled with the buckle of Laura’s belt and slid it out of each belt loop of
her jeans, and pushed Laura’s shirt over her head.

“’Bout time you got that undone,”
murmured Laura, kissing against Joelle’s belly.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Joelle moaned in
response.

“W-we could…m-make this more
interesting,” Joelle pressed.

class=SpellE>Oi? How so?”

Joelle
grinned and pulled Laura into the bathroom, and started a hot shower, and Laura
finished undressing herself and stepped into the shower, grinning.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  “I think I like you better all wet,” said class=SpellE>Joelle as she climbed in.

“I bet you do…” answered
Laura.  Once again, Laura’s soft lips
found Joelle’s breast and licked and sucked and
nibbled, sending vibrations of pleasure through Joelle’s
body.  Joelle
ran a hand through her friend’s curly dark brown hair.

“What are you thinking about?”style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Laura’s sparkling blue eyes narrowed in on class=SpellE>Joelle’s glazed over look.

“Hmm?”

“You’re lost in thought,” said
Laura.  “I can tell.”

“Oh, I just, um, well, it’s…”
stuttered Joelle.
After a couple deep breaths and a nervous laugh, Joelle
managed lamely, “It’s nothing important.
Just...work.”  Laura smiled
slightly, the right side of her mouth perking up.

“I’m here for you.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Anything you need,” promised Laura.

Oh,
sure,
thought Joelle.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  If you
only knew that I wanted to throw you on the couch and take off your clothes and
claim you as mine…I should not be imagining this.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  This is wrong, and it’s never going to happen
anyway.
Instead of saying all that
out loud, Joelle nodded in agreement.

Joelle
came to a conclusion:  style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>God has a sense of humor, and I don’t like
his jokes at all.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  I just had to fall in love with the only nonsexual on the planet, and it just happenedstyle='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'> to be my best friend.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Convenient.

Joelle,
I think we should work on Christmas shopping tomorrow.”style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Joelle smiled.

“Yes, that’s a great idea.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  I still have a lot of people to buy for.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

Joelle
leaned over and kissed her friend’s cheek.
Laura smiled.  Yeah, sure, they
had been “dating” for three months now.
Nothing had really changed.  They
still went to the movies, and out to eat, and each paid their own way.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  They would talk, but sometimes class=SpellE>Joelle felt like there should be more to a relationship
than just having fun.  They should trust
each other deeply, and keep their promises.
Maybe they should kiss more than a peck on the lips.

“I guess…since I haven’t had the
same experiences as you, I’ll never know exactly what your situation is, and
how to help you through it,” confessed Laura.
“I guess, in that regard, we can never wholly and completely trust each
other.”

I
guess, in that regard, we can never wholly and completely trust each other

I guess, in that regard, we can never wholly and completely trust each
other

I
guess, in that regard, we can never wholly and completely trust each other

That line haunted class=SpellE>Joelle constantly.  class=GramE>Every day at her very boring job, every time she heard Laura’s
voice over the phone.  class=SpellE>Joelle couldn’t stand the thought that Laura didn’t
completely trust her.  style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>Yeah, sure, we all have secrets, thought
Joelle.  style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>She can’t honestly mean that.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  But it’s Laura…if she didn’t mean it, she
wouldn’t have said it.

Hell, Joelle
had gotten farther with her cousin than she had with her girlfriend.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  (It was an accidental kiss, and her cousin
stuck her tongue out…Not really as gross as it sounds.)style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  She was positive Laura wasn’t going to
change, and Joelle couldn’t very well “break up” with
Laura; she was after all Joelle’s best friend.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  She was stuck and she didn’t know what to do.

I’ll
just pretend that the thought of breaking up hasn’t occurred to me yet,
decided
Joelle.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  I’ll have my little fantasies and my books to
keep my mind off her.
  But nothing
ever would do such a thing.
