||The Dream Catcher||

I can't see your star.

The mechanical lights of Lisbon frightened it away.

And I'm alone now,

Me and all I stood for.

We're wandering now.

All in parts in pieces, swim lonely, find your own way out.

I can't see your star.

I can't see your star.

How can the darkness feel so wrong?

The faint sound of Mozart caused Lithy to snap back from her imaginary world into the harsh recesses of reality. Her eyes fluttered as her brain took consciousness of all around her and she turned her head towards the door. Her burgundy hair flowing gracefully to her left shoulder, like the Ravens feathers as they fall to the ground in that dark and distorted manner. The music was coming from behind her bedroom door where Zoe' had left not too long ago. Her cold violet eyes blinked slowly as she stared at the ebony door to her right. A faint light from the hallway escaped into the room from the crack along the door and Lithy's eyes fixed upon the very spot. She then realized it; the door was open. Slowly and majestically she stood up and seemed to glide across the floor to the o and reaching out her pale arm, she gently pushed the door open. Her lifeless violet eyes widened ever so slightly as the door opened and her eyes landed upon the wall of the hallway before her. She poked her head from the doorway, out into the hallway and looked around. Not a soul was in sight and she began to slowly tip toe out of her room and into the hall. Her white nightgown moved with every step she took, making the hanging lace dance among the rest of the garment. Her cold and pale hands tightly gripped the small table beside her door once she was completely out of the room. Her gaze traveled slowly down the hall, taking in the dark brown and gold carpet under her feet, the golden lights and the way their angelic light cased shadows upon the crimson walls, balancing out both darkness and light. She silently began to walk down the hall swiftly, trying not to be seen nor caught.

Her pace slowed to a stop when the carpet became cream tile and everything brightened to white, creams, gold's and silver's; the hallway had finally ended. It now opened up into a stairway and a balcony that led down into the giant and lavished ballroom where the music was coming from. Lithy's eyes moved down into the ballroom where waves of people danced in beautiful and noble attire. Her cold eyes softened as she let her eyes follow the graceful dancing of the noble men and woman in her home. It was one f the most beautiful things she had ever seen, besides the memory of her mother's face. The music was entrancing, making her body sway with its rhythm unintentionally.

"Well, Hello there." Came an unfamiliar voice from behind Lithy, causing her to jump. She violently turned, her heart practically in her throat from the fear of being caught. A Tall man, about the age of 17, with shaggy black hair, pale skin and piercing golden eyes that caused him to have a cool and sexy look about him but also and dark aura. His eyes stared down at her violet orbs and they seemed to cut through them, into her mind like a hot knife through butter.

"I haven’t seen you around here before...then again, I don’t see many people in their nightgowns during a ball either...your name?" He spoke softly and casually with her.

"Lithium Lorence'." Lithy replied softly, starring up at him with an almost child-like though impassive face. He blinked as though confused.

"But Mr. Lorence' said he had no children." He muttered softly to himself.

"Father does not call his child...he ha-"

"Lord Cain! Get away from her! She's mad!" Came Mr. Lorence's voice as he hurried up the stairs. Lithy's eyes widened when she heard her father's cry and took off down the hall to avoid whipping as long as she could.

"Who was she? She claimed to be your Daughter, Mr. Lorence'." Cain spoke softly, suspicious now.

"She was a maid in my home, the sister to Zoe' the newest addition to our maid's...she lost her mind many years ago in a terrible accident, I'm sorry."

"It's fine. She did no harm." He spoke softly, moving his eyes to the hallway where Lithy ran down. She was gone, and it was empty now.

Lithy ran down the hall as quickly as she could, fear was present all over her face as she looked ahead to the open door that led to her room. She would be safe once she was behind that door once more, safe for now.
"Lithy!" Zoe's terrified voice came from Lithy's room, Zoe' must have seen the door open and rushed in to find her not there. Lithy was instantly at the door and rushed in to find Zoe' pulling things from the closet, searching for Lithy frantically, hoping she had not left the room. Zoe' instantly turned, tears falling down her cheeks, she was so worried for her friend and was up and hugging Lithy by the time Lithy knew what was going on. Lithy's arms loosely wrapped themselves around Zoe' as Zoe' held her close. She had worried the only friend she had to tears, and felt horrible about it.

"I thought you were with your father..."Zoe' spoke with her French accident, tears still falling freely down her rosy cheeks.

"I was...but not the way you were thinking." Lithy replied softly, almost lifelessly.

"I'll get you out of here Lithy...I promise you you'll be free from this prison very soon...Give me a little more time, I'll find a way." Zoe' slowly let go of Lithy and smiled down at her as best she could, still with tears in her eyes, standing still like glass.

"I know you will Zoe', just don’t drive yourself too far...I don’t want you to get hurt or sick Zoe'..." Lithy spoke quietly, as though trying not to be heard as a faint pink rested itself on her cheeks. Zoe' blinked slightly then smiled sweetly before kissing her cheek.

"Don't worry about me, Lithy. I'll be fine once you are." Zoe' smiled before she started for the door. Lithy turned to watch her leave and a very faint smile crossed her lips.
