Accusations

This is, I suppose, a sort of dream. I don't remember my dreams regularly, but on the off chance I do, I tend to write them in story form. The man displayed within this story might pop up in another I upload, I have no idea. But, the confusion with which you might read this story, I apologize for now, before you depart to this script. With this, I bid you, Adieu.

In Salem, witches were feared, were thought of as the servants to the demonic ruler, and were killed as results.

Unfortunately, in Salem, everyone was thought to be a witch. Children, old women, herbalist healers, even some well known and highly thought of men of the town were accused, tried, and found guilty of all accounts.

Many people died by the tree in such a short matter of time, due to paranoia and foolishness. No one was safe from the threat the noose that took so many innocent lives symbolized.

But some were more suspectible than others.

The people of Salem screamed in anticipation, the hanging that was to be expected looming darkly over their eager heads. However, silence hushed when the witch was brought to the gallows.

No one had seen this boy that stood before them before, as no one had been given any reason to pay attention to him. Now, as they saw, they stared in wonder.

His hair was long, down to his shoulders, the deep black colour lightened to colbalt in the sun that shone through the trees, falling to hide his face. His form was unnaturally slender, his skin stunningly pale for what the work of Salem should have done. Though his face was hidden, one feature could be seen, One feature, hidden and glowing.

His eyes watched them, filled not with fear, not with the desperation of one who knew he was going to die, but the calculating look of a man who knew the ones around him would perish. Dark as they were, so dark that the dots of black that should have been there were not seen, they seemed depthless. Emotionless.

The Minister wrapped the noose around his neck, yet there was no reaction. His eyes continued to watch. To wait.

The noose snapped taut; the corpse swung gently.

And the people of Salem shuddered, as one, when they looked upon the beautiful, young face forever frozen, beauty turned to horror by the insanity in those eyes. Those eyes which had not changed from life to death.

Later, much later, Salem realized their mistakes. And many looked back upon those taken from life by force and by foolishness, and many never recall one in particular. One dark haired, beautiful youth.

Of course, they never truly see me until I give them reason to.
