Anyway i hope you enjoy it!....................Um, what are you still doing up here? Go Read!
The Worst Day
My name is Dexter Jones, I have dirty blonde hair that comes down to my shoulders because I never feel like cutting it. My eyes are hazel blue and I’m a sophomore in a high school where everyone has to where blue uniforms. This is a story about how one bad morning had changed everything that was normal and good in my life. I am usually the one that gets in trouble in school for either skipping classes or getting into fights. But this is a different kind of trouble the kind that you never want but you get it anyway because someone else gave it to you.
This is how one of the worst days of my I’ve ever had changed the rest of my life and here’s how it began. Early this morning, which is odd to begin with because I never wake on time I’m usually the last to get out of bed, anyway I got up out bed like I normally would. Though, my vision didn’t clear quickly enough and I ran straight into the door of the room I share with my little brother Max. I heard him laughing as I fell on my butt, which of curse I don’t think was funny in the least bit, but that was just me if I was watching I would have been laughing my ass off. The little rat got up and walked over to the door pretending to hold it open for me, oh how nice the little rat‘s being, a little too nice. His dusty blonde hair lay flat for once and his green eyes shinned brightly with mischief. I swear when I graduate and he gets in high school, everyone will know that he’s my brother without having to know his name. He looks just like a mini me, and sometime he acts like a mini me I wonder why our parents haven’t gone crazy yet.
He steps out the room after I stand and get ready to leave the room when “Bam!” I get a good familiar taste of the door, again and trust me its not a good taste to have first thing in the morning. He slammed the door in my face making me trip and hit the ground rather roughly again, my poor bum is screaming at me for literally falling for that trick. He opened the door and looked at me while he was laughing like there’s no tomorrow, oh he was so going getting. Once I finally got up he closed the door again to place a barrier between us, as I made way to chase him down the stairs only to be stopped by my dad. The man was fast I didn’t even see him grab for my arm, he was dressed in his usual black suit yet the jacket was sitting in the chair that was next to him. His light brown hair was neatly combed to the side and he looked like he was still in his twenties, bright blue eyes shinning.
“Stop chasing your brother!” he said strictly.
“But dad he slammed-…” I tried to explain.
“I don’t care get ready for school take a jacket it’s raining.”
“Yeah, yeah…”
“Yeah, yeah you to, go get dressed.”
I went back upstairs and into our room to get my stupid school uniform I hated the stupid thing it made me look like a wimp, my sister Brittney was in the bathroom taking a year to get ready. I don’t know what for I mean we have to wear the same stupid blue uniforms anyway, how much makeup do you need to match it? It’s not going to change much you get dressed go to school see the same people and then go back home.
“Brittney, get the hell out the bathroom!” I shouted through the door.
“Dexter, try not to swear dear!” my mom shouted from where she was in the house.
“Brittney get out the bathroom!” I tried again.
“Thank you!” man she had ears like dog.
“Go take a crap some where.” Brittney said from the bathroom.
“Brittney I gotta pee.” I whined.
“Go outside…”
“I would if it weren’t raining!”
She finally opened the door dressed in the girls version of the high school uniform and looked out the window in the hall with no-it-can’t-be look. Her golden beige blonde hair flowed down her back in the style that she had took so long to put it in, curls. I took this as my opportunity of getting the bathroom and walked into the bathroom to do what came to do. I came out two minutes later completely dressed in our school uniform and with my usual messy hair since I only combed it around I’m not much for gel like Brittney and Max. The amount they use nearly puts our parents up for bankrupt about every other month and they want me to use it too! They must be crazy!
I made it to the kitchen safely and walked over to the cabinets to get a bowl and then poured some captain crunch. I sat at the table with my parents and wondered if I was like Max when I was his age and if I’m going to be like Brittney when I’m her age. Max soon came into the kitchen ready to go to school, and remember the thing I said about the gel. Then again I guess if you like your hair greased back like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter, then what the hell, I don‘t care. When I looked at him I remembered how much I hated being the middle child sometimes. Brittney came down stairs acting like a movie star as usual and that’s the last thing I want right now. I have this bad feeling like I’m going to come home pissed as ever today without even trying and my beginning mood is a taleteller.
“So Dexter it’s not too late, I still have time to do your hair.” She said oh so elegantly. NOT!
“No thanks it’s going to get wet anyways.” That was me.
“You’re such a pig.” Brittney said
“And you’re a cow.” Me again
“How dare you, you little dork” Her again
“Yeah, yeah I’m walking to school today anyway.” Me
“What!” Her once again
Finally tired of the conversation, mainly because my dad looked at me with that look, I quickly put my bowl into the sink and walked over to the door grab my things to head out. I walked to school in the rain under an umbrella instead of waiting for Brit and my little brother to go with. My best friend Wayne Jordan had come to join me in the rain with an umbrella of course. He seemed a little surprised that I wasn’t in a car driving past him with a help me sign on the window, like yesterday. Come to think of it, he was laughing at me that day too.
“Yo, what’s up man? How come your sister isn’t giving you a ride?” He asked…what’s the word…oh…calmly.
“I didn’t want one.” I said flatly.
“Understandable, what’s up?” He asked.
“Nothing man…” I said.
He just nodded and we made it to school about ten minutes later only to have a strange shiver go down my spine. I stopped in the middle of the hall only a few steps from my locker and looked around at the other students. Wayne turned and looked at me as the feeling disappeared suddenly I just started walking again. Something was bothering me today I didn’t know what it was though and I wasn’t paying attention in class. Not that I ever do, I just hadn’t joked on anyone yet, which isn‘t normal for me, cause I would usually be getting detention right about now.
Not to mention that shiver kept making its way up and down my spine like someone is watching me without blinking or something. That’s when the teacher thought she could get back at me for all the wise cracks I usually made. Bad idea; to even think she might get away with it, she crazy, guess I got my daily detention. You know I really don’t feel like being mean today, my head was still hurting from its introduction to the door this morning.
“Mr. Jones can you tell me what the Boston Tea Party is and what year it took place?” She asked smugly.
“You’re the teacher you should now.” I said completely board
She does this fake you’re-getting-me-mad laugh that I’ve had the blessing of hearing before on a daily basis, did I mention that detention is my favorite past time. I look up at her then stood up being respectful; well maybe only partly seeing as I really didn‘t feel like doing this. I have to hold back my extremely board tone and make it sound like I was happy, because I was heading straight to detention no questions asked.
“Well the Boston Tea Party was when I chose to fall asleep in class and what had happened was I didn’t care.”
“Well you know you should care because I don’t think your grade agrees with you.” she said.
“Oh so it like that now, huh?” I asked quietly.
“Yeah it’s like that…” she said back, she’s too young to be teaching.
“Well if you ask me I don’t think your face agrees with you, you should take that mask off.”
“Do you want a detention Mr. Jones?”
“Do I have a choice or is that another quiz question?”
“I bet you think you’re so funny.”
“Not as funny as that valley girl laugh of yours.”
Her eyes went wide with anger and flames, and I was sent out the room so fast I hardly had time to breathe another word. Everyone was weak some were laughing so hard they fell straight out on the floor and that’s only because nothing happens in this school, it wasn‘t that funny. Or it could have been when the teacher slipped and fell on the floor because the heels on her shoes were too high and she was stomping too hard causing the heel broke under her weight, I don’t know could be either. While I was walking down the hall with one of the assistant principles I saw my parents. This was gonna to go down in restriction history especially if my mom gets her way, I‘d say for about the rest of my high school career. We all walked into the office, my dad looked at me with a big goofy smile if he decided my restriction I would get about two weeks to a month. To me he was still a child so he was always on my side even if I did what I did today. He just said I would be punished about a week if my mom was ok with it. Less likely to ever happen.
“James Isaac Jones, he insulted his teacher and you say a week. He needs to be punished for the rest of the year.”
“Lily Patricia Jones, he’s just a boy he didn’t mean anything by it.”
“Just a boy! He is old enough to know when to keep his mouth shout; he is in high school after all! This is an embarrassment to our family!”
“No you yelling in front of everyone is what’s embarrassing.” The assistant principle came up to me.
“You can go to your next class now.”
“Aight”
Man today totally sucks, I just want to go home and get back into bed. That way I can start the whole day over again and manage to catch my brother before he slams a door in my face. That's when I feel it, warm honey slowly sliding down my neck. The shiver in my spines started to kick up again and i knew someone was seriously watching me. I turned to look out into the hall from the main office only to see........
Ohooo! You have got yo be more careful, you never know when you're going to hit a cliffhanger. Though, i like cliffhangers only because they make me want to come back to the story. Anyway i hope you enjoyed this story!
