River of Souls
Haiku
Lovely boy, float through
My hands like water on rocks.
Shaken, then stirred up.
Eyes like fireballs,
No wonder the boys' faces
Follow that backside.
The coalminer's face
Carries hard lines and soft lips;
A chance for rebirth.
Freckles on his nose,
Paler than a lassie's breast;
Enter the redhead.
The stillness of his
Shoulders like frozen cherry-
Blossoms; stone flower-carvings.
Scales and skin contrast
Red sheets stained white with come;
Evidence of love.
Tendrils of doe brown--
Cerulean watching eyes--
My lover knows me.
I love who I love,
As you adore who you choose.
Are we so different?
You took my lover,
You stole my virginity,
What else do you want?
Look at his mouth pout;
His cheeks blush redder than blood,
His moans arouse you.
Listen to him sing.
Watch him dance for the people.
He's looking at you.
He asks every night;
You always ignore his voice.
When will you listen?
Did you know him much?
I heard he liked boys--like that!
He needn't have died.
The eyes of the church
Watch every move you make
Will they forgive you?
The drumbeat rolls on
His heart bleeds a fire hot red.
There's ice in your eyes.
Soft lips meet their match,
Skin and skin touch on sheets;
Primed for the climax.
Death you didn't watch;
Eyes you couldn't meet after;
You loved him so much.
Rain falls slowly down
The windows blur with water
Reminds you of him.
Church bells ring gladly…
White petals litter the concrete…
Joined by the law now.
A hollow giggle
From a golden child of war
Is too hard to hear.
White wings on silver
Smooth skin on hard, callused hands.
Love from slave to lord.
A/N: Each grouping of three lines if one separate haiku, meaning it has it's own meaning. This may or may not be continued, depending on how many positive reviews I get.
