Chapter 1:
It was a dark and stormy night, me and my older brother and sister were sitting in the dark because the power had gone out.
"This sucks!" Said Noah. (my brother)
"Man, i was supposed to go out with Jared tonight!" Said Chloe. (my sister)
"Yeah well i was supposed to go out with Jacob!" I replyed.
"Who cares about you twirp" Said Noah getting up and whipping a pillow at me.
"Oww you retard" I replyed throwing the pillow back at him, hitting mom's vase. It fell and shattered.
"Haha your going to be so dead when i tell mom" Said Noah getting up and going into the kitchen.
I sat down on the couch and sighed.
"Brittney, come in here for a moment please!" Came my mom's voice from the kitchen.
I got up and rolled my eyes and walked into the candle light filled kitchen.
"Yes mom?" I asked.
"Noah told me you through a pillow at him" She replyed glaring at me "And you broke my good vase" She added in.
"He threw it at me first!" I said furiously.
"No but's, now go clean up the mess, and then go to your room" She said pointing into the living room.
"Yes mom" I said going back into the living room.
I got the broom and dust pan from the closet and started to clean up the mess.
"Haha, you got grounded again" Said Noah smiling at me.
"Fuck you" I replyed back.
After i finally cleaned it up, i threw it out in the garbage, and then went upstairs to my room. I sat down on my bed. 'this sucks, nothing to do, no power' I thought to myself as i layed back on my bed. I heard noises down the hall. I got up off my bed and walked to my bedroom door and looked out. I seen a shadow run by. That creaped me out, so i ran back to my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I curled up under my blankets. Just then the door swung open. Something jumped ontop of me.
"Hey you loser, mom told me to come upstairs and see what all that noise was about" Came Chloe's voice. I was happy to hear her voice, for once in my life.
I peaked my head out.
"Oh nothing, im fine, just tripped over something, since i cant see and all" I replyed looking at her.
She sat down on the end of my bed.
"Well i know its tough moving into a new house for the first time" Said Chloe "This is my third time moving" She added in.
"Sucks how our parents had to get devorced though" I replyed sighing.
"I know, but things will get better, atleast we didn't move far, like i mean we can still see our friends and stuff" Replyed Chloe.
"Yeah, i guess your right" I replyed smiling.
"Come, let's go downstairs" Said Chloe leaving the room, i followed.
When we got downstairs Noah was sitting at the window watching the huge blizzard we were having, and mom was sitting at the table reading a book, with a flashlight in her hand.
"Im sorry mom" I said, breaking the silence.
Mom looked up from her book at me.
"It's alright, accidents happen" She said, then looking back down at her book.
I shrugged my shoulders and sat on the couch.

The next morning when i woke up, the power was finally back on. I got up out of my bed and looked out the window. All i could see was white. White on the streets, white on the grass, white on the trees. Everywhere. I got dressed and went downstairs.
"Morning Britt" Said Chloe.
"Morning" I said rubbing my eyes.
"Jacob called this morning, but i told him you hated his guts" Said Noah smirking.
"you did what!" I said, shooting my head up and walking over to him.
I punched him in the shoulder.
"Ouch you little rat! i was joking! frig, calm urself!" He said rubbing his shoulder.
I laughed, and picked up my cell from the counter and went into the living room. I sat on the window cil looking outside. I opened up my flip phone and called Jacob.
"Hello?" Came a sleepy voice.
"Hey sleepy head" I replyed smiling.
"Hey Britt!" He said happily.
"Want to chill today?" I asked.
"Sure, just let me get dressed and stuff first alright?" He replyed.
"Ok, Sure.. call me when your ready" I said.
"Alright" He said, hanging up.
I put my cell into my pocket and went back into the kitchen to get something to eat.

When i met Jacob, he was with a bunch of my other friends too, there was Amber, Hailey, and Jensen.
"Hey guys" I said.
"Hey Britt" Said Hailey and Jensen at the same time, the other one waved.
"That storm was pretty bad last night eh" Said Amber.
"Yeah i know, my power went out" I said.
"Yeah mine too" Said Jensen.
We all sat down in the snow.
"I hate my brother so friggin much" I said looking at the snow.
"Why?" Asked Hailey.
"Because i got blammed for breaking my mom's vase, because i threw the pillow that he threw at me, back at him" I replyed smiling.
"Oh yeah, hows that coming along anyway? like your parents splitting up and everything?" Asked Jensen.
"Its alright, its not the same though" I replyed.
As i said that a snowball hit the side of my head.
"Hey!" I yelled looking around.
It was Noah and his friends, Mike and Cameron.
"Haha stupid baby" Said Noah.
"Alright just leave the girl alone!" Said Jensen getting up.
Just then a snowball hit him in the face.
"Hahaha, bullseye!" Shouted Noah.
Jensen chased Noah down the street, and finally cornered him in an alleyway.
"Why do you always pick on your sister?" Asked Jensen.
"Shes a stupid rat, that's why" He replyed, walking off with Mike and Cameron.
Jensen came back to where we were and sat down.
"What happened?" I asked.
"That fucking retard, i wanted to kill him!" He said punching the snow.
"I know what you mean" I said.
"Hey, why don't we go to my place and have some hot chocolate?" Suggested Amber.
"Sure, sounds good" Said all of us.
We all got up and walked over to Amber's house.
"Wheres the twins today?" Asked Amber, as she was getting out the hot chocolate from the cupboard.
"I don't know" Replyed Jensen.
"I think they went to a wedding" Replyed Hailey.
"Ohh, i see" I replyed.
"So how old is your nephew now Hailey?" Asked Amber as she was finishing up the hot chocolates.
"Hes almost 3 years old now, time flys man" She replyed.
"Wow, it does" I replyed "I remember when he was just born" I added in.
"Hot chocolates ready" Said Amber handing them out.
We all sat around the table. I took a sip. It felt good to feel the heat on my lips, since it was so cold outside.
"I have to use the lady's room" I said, getting up.
"Alright" Said Amber "Its down the hall" She added.
"Umm.. how long have i been coming here for?" I reminded her laughing.
I walked down the hall, and finally into the bathroom. I did my buisness. When i was washing my hands, i looked up into the mirror and seen a black figure behind me, just like the one i saw at my house. I screamed, and Hailey and Amber came running.
"What's wrong?" Asked Amber banging on the bathroom door.
I just stood there staring into the mirror. I saw the black figure walk right through me. I felt cold when it did. Finally i snapped back into reality and opened the bathroom door and ran out.
"Are you alright?" Asked Hailey. I just nodded.
"What did you see?" Asked Jensen, when we got back into the living room.
"I saw a black figure, behind me, then it like walked right through me!" I said looking at Jensen.
"Don't be silly" Said Hailey taking a sip of her hot chocolate.
"No im serious, i also seen the same one at my house last night!, its like its following me!" I said, shaking.
Everyone just looked at me like i was crazy.
I just gave up and continued drinking my hot chocolate.
