In a dark room of an underground building beneath a busy nightclub in Rome. Two men from an agency that doesn't exist sit in awkward silence. The elder of the two, the man wearing all black, thumbs through the pages of a report. The other, the man in the blue suit, fidgets, annoyed.

"This is such a waste of time. I need to fix my team before the next mission.", He thought to himself.

"Do you know why you were called here?"

The man in blue replied with a nod, thinking it was a simple reprimand for the near failure of the most recent mission. "Good. Then it'll save me the time of having to be tactful about this. Your remaining two team members are being sent to a new squad and you are being relieved of your duties as team coordinator. As of right now, your new job will be processing of new members." The man in black made no attempt to lighten his tone as the man in blue visibly grew shocked and scared. "Do not worry. We still see you as an asset. We won't kill you. Dismissed."

"Yes, sir." And with a slight bow, the man in blue rushed out into a dark hallway.

The halls were poorly lit with infrared camera's every few feet. Each door was set with biometric locks for palm print and retinal scanning. Guards armed with M60s marched up and down the halls. As the man in blue walked down the hall, he was stopped by every third guard until he reach the elevator. "53rd floor." The doors began to close when suddenly, a frantic figure entered his view in the hallway.

"Wait! Hold that lift!" The woman yelled.

The man in blue frantically fumbled around the elevator controls to find the door open button before he remembered that there are no buttons. "Elevator, wait." The doors stopped closing and the man in blue watched the guard frisk the Indian woman who'd called to him. A half-dozen red dots focused on her head and heart, the laser sights of the guards' rifles. "What is it?"

"Mr. Colmes, I've found 2 prospective members." She said as a guard helped her back to her feet, off her knees. The man in blue took a moment to allow her to regain her composure. Also, allowing himself to better take in his view. She was a beautiful woman, no more than 30 years of age. She wore a white lab coat over a black blouse with the top few buttons undone. Her short, dark red skirt fell low on her hips, and ended above the knee showing off her long, black stocking-covered legs.

"Doctor....?" Asked Colmes.

"Dr. Rati Kaur." She replied.

"Forgive me. My transfer was just revealed to me."

"Yes, yes, anyway... I found 2 exceptionally powerful kids."

"Kids? How young?"

"Low 20s."

"Oh. What are they from?"

"Well, they're not from anywhere. They're new anomalies.", she began, continuing despite the obvious reluctance on Colmes' face, "We found Taurean Williams and Andre Robart. An aerokinetic and a unique astral projector."

"We don't have time to train children."

"Sir, if you'll just watch the footage in my office, you'll see their skills aren't requiring much training."

She called out her floor and the elevator began its descent, filled with awkward silence. Colmes had to stop himself more than once from staring at Dr. Kaur. She noticed but she would only smile and pull her shirt closed at the top. As the elevator settled on the 73rd floor, below ground, not above, Rati rushed over to her office. She fumbled the files in her arms around to get her hand free for the palm reader and flipped her head back to get the hair out her eyes before they reached the retinal scanner. Rati said nothing as she sat at her desk and directed Colmes' attention to the monitor next to the door.

On the screen was an young black man with medium length dreads tied back in a ponytail, standing in the middle of a basketball court in the fall with leaves at his feet. Colmes watched with disinterest in his eyes until finally something caught his eyes. The boy motioned energetically to the agent next to him, just as a vegas magician would. Then with a wave of his hands, the agent is lifted into the air, flailing about as the leaves whip up it at his body. The boy gently places him on the floor and walks over to the basketball hoop. He wrings his fingers as the pole on which the backboard rests and slowly, it is pushed up out of the ground, again, with leaves whipping all about.

"Ho-ly shit." Colmes remarked. Rati smirked and set up the other file to play. The screen showed now a thin Caucasian teenage boy. He was wearing a hospital gown and lying on a gurney. He was still for a few seconds before blue flames ignited on his chest. A blue burning figure rose out of his body and hovered for a few seconds. The agents around showed slight fear and a bound man with a black cloth bag over his head and a heart monitor was pushed in front of him. The blue spectral entity flew through the man and the man fell. He flat lined instantly. "Who else knows about them, Doctor?"

"British, American, Persian, and Japanese intelligence."

"Do we have them?"

"They're upstairs."

"Excellent, Doctor. Bring 'em down. Welcome them to the team."

On the first floor the two boys from the videos, Taurean and Andre, respectively, sat in a dark waiting room. Taurean sat bobbing his head with the tempo of the bass from upstairs while Andre stared down at his knees which were tightly pressed together. Taurean looked over at him."Cute." He thought to himself. He examined Andre's features. His soft lips. The gentle curve of his nose. What a light shade of bluish gray his eyes were, and how the strands of his hair that fell into them shined. Andre had a thin frame which would have been rectangular if not for his hips. As Taurean's mind drifted into a fantasy involving those hips, the security door behind the front desk opened and Rati stepped out. She sat in the chair closest to the lobby's coffee table and beckoned for Taurean and Andre to come closer.

"Hello again, boys." She said, crossing her legs.

"Hello, Dr. Kaur." Replied Andre, barely above a whisper.

"Hey, doc." Said Taurean, making no attempt to hide the fact that he was staring at her chest. She looked at his eyes and pushed her blouse a little bit more open, as if to let him get a better view.

"You may call me Rati, boys. It's my first name. You each know that you have unique powers and that your powers could help or hurt, as you wish. But we want you to join us. We want to help you learn to use your powers to help people."

There was silence for a few seconds before Taurean opened his mouth. "That was incredibly lame. But if joining means being around people who look like you and you, I'm in!" He exclaimed, pointing at Andre then Rati.

Andre blushed and looked at his lap again. He wasn't too keen on helping people. He has no attachment to mankind, being treated as he has. The first few times his power showed itself were purely accidental. Fits of extreme pain or emotion would make his body collapse, freeing his spirit. This was not looked upon to quiet in the suburbs of Toronto. Many feared him, few trusted and loved him. After the accidental death of a teacher, he had no place at home. He wandered Canada for a few month before meeting a telepath/empath named Armand Paquin. Armand brought him into a group of other with telepaths, telekinetics and astral projectors. He soon found he has no place with them. They were jealous that his ability seemed to come from different origins than theirs. That they had to work to gain skill and his was natural. Shortly after, Rati found and brought him to a research center where he lived for a few months. Now, after all these months of being an outcast, he has a place. He looked up at Rati. "I'm in, too. Thank you."

"Fantastic. Welcome aboard, gentleman. Your training and briefing begin immediately!"

Upstairs, Colmes scanned through the files of the 'nightclub', looking for unique individuals. He was not going to take this demotion in stride. He was determined to assemble a new team. He needed someone with experience.

He found one.

The man he found was a peculiar fellow. An Anomaly but a lower class one. He was born nocturnal. Oversized pupils which allow him to make due with less light. This gave him the edge for stealth combat. He could go in with less electronic equipment, travel using commercial means, rarely needing to cover-up a shipment of tool for his craft. His name was Kisho Yoshida.

Born in New York, New York to Japanese immigrants, he was an average student infatuated with Japanese culture. Mostly samurai, anime, and video games. In the year 2000 when he was 15 year old, his parents died in a car crash and he moved to Japan to live with his grandparents. He learned kendo and judo in the bane of becoming a modern samurai. After joining Japanese intelligence in 2010, he went so far as to even model his field armor after that of a samurai. Now after 17 years of service, he lives on a lovely estate nestled deep among the mountains of Hokkaido, still a part of Japanese Intel but now only used as a last resort.

Two others catch Colmes' eye as well. One was an English super genius, specializing in audio science and engineering. He could do with speakers what most others needed rocket launchers for. However, now after some 'international hijinx', he's being held in a low-tech high-security prison off the coast of Wales. Put there after his capture in Japan by none other than Kisho Yoshida.

The second of the two was not quite an Anomaly. He was found on an expedition into Greenland, a boy at the time, human, somewhat, but mostly wolf-like. Due to the fact that most scientist are not that creative, he was named Fenrir after the Norse bringer of Ragnarok.

Speed, intelligence, wisdown, experience, and raw power. These 5 had the potential to make a great team. So now, Mr. Colmes had to make it so.
