This time
Disclaimer. Mine, my own my precious. Mine.
THIS TIME
You come to me,
take my hand,
and once again you swear
in the name of everlasting
love.
But the promises never last,
they are never true.
You still do drugs
you take booze with them.
You hit me again.
You make promises
but they are empty.
you promise that this time you will change
that this is all just a bad dream.
But how can it be?
For dreams make no promises.
I know all this.
You've done it before
and I have believed, forgiven
but this time I've had enough.
