Chapter 1
(Note: This one chapter of many to come. Enjoy.)


Hi my name is Tano; there is not much to tell you about me. Now I’ve seen a lot in the many years I’ve lived. You’re probably thinking what is he talking about, which is normal for humans. I think you know now what I am. I’m not a ghost or a demon. I’m an Elvin vampire. We are a different type of vampire. Yes, there are different types of vampires. Three to be exact the first is your typical vampire the ones you write books about with the sunlight, silver, and crosses burns them. Those are called Normality vampires. The second is the vampire that will mate and kill their mate, which are mostly guys. They are called ShinjuHi vampires. Then there’s my breed of vampire we can live in sunlight, crosses don’t burn, we wear silver and we like garlic a lot. I have two brothers that are the same breed as I am. We are the only ones left from the bloodiest battle ever. The oldest is Aubrey, in the middle is me, then there’s Tony the evil one; and we are called Elvin vampires.
It was a nice sunny, warm, and breezy day, a good combination. Too bad it was a school day. Yeah, I go to school. As I walked in to the High school I caught a smell of roses. Then there was a very pretty (and I mean pretty) girl with long wavy black hair.
She had to be new here I thought to my self.
She turned then smiled and said, ”Hi my name is Reana, what’s yours?”
“ Tano.” I finally managed to say after I nearly choked. She smiled again and nodded, Aubrey looked at me as if he wanted to tease me. I was surprised he didn’t.
“He’ll probably wait till she’s in class,” I thought angrily. Reana looked at the girl next to her, who looks just like her,” This is my twin Jessica; she is more of the talking type than I am, ” she said.
Aubrey started to laugh, and said “ I’m Aubrey, a pleasure meeting you Reana,” then turned to Jessica “Jessica.”
“Excuse my brother he’s a bit shy when he meets beautiful women like you.” Said Aubrey.
Reana flashed her metallic green/blue eyes, and then said coldly “ Thank you.” Jessica’s once gold eyes turned dark; she looked like she was going to kick his butt.
Aubrey quickly changed the subject by saying,“ There is a dance tonight are you two girls going?”
I shook my head in humiliation I said; “You’re digging your own grave Aubrey.” he just frowned at me and tried to keep his mouth shut but it didn’t work.
“ After you Tano,” he said cruelly.
Reana turn and said, “ We need to go to class, see you later OK?” She walked to her class in a graceful manner. Aubrey looked at me with one eyebrow raised; “ Tano, looks like you’re love struck brother. Are you in love again, if you are, don’t do the same thing you did with Zoë OK.” He said with worried concern. I remained silent, while I was thinking. Was I falling in love again, or is just a false alarm. “Who knows?” I thought to myself, as I walked to class.
After school at the dance I saw Reana. She looked really good in her black leather bell-bottoms and her dark green tube top. I tried not to stare but I couldn’t help it she looked so gorgeous. She caught me staring so I backed in to the shadows, so she wouldn’t see me. Then a Steely Dan song came on, and she started to dance with a Normality vampire. When the song was over, the vampire started toward her neck, I moved quickly to them. Then the vampire’s fangs grew. I shot an arm out and grabbed him by the neck.
“ I don’t think so,” I growled angrily as I pulled the vampire away from her.
“ Hey who do you think you’re dealing with!” the vampire yelled.
I smiled, “ You tell me. I think you know what I am, and I know what you are Normality.”
His eyes went wide with fear then he turned to run. He wasn’t quick enough though, he ended up dusted. Reana was watching with eyes in surprise, and holding an unused wooden stake in one hand. I looked at her then at the ground, afraid of her reaction. She gently touched my face making me look at her.
Her eyes where soft then she smiled the same charming smile,” I didn’t now you were a slayer.”
I remained silent.
She nodded then said thankfully,” Thank you for saving my life, but I have secret of my own.”
My eyes widen with surprise as I said;” What do you mean?”
Reana looked away then said,” I’m a…Oh never mind I’ll tell you in time.”
She turned to the door and left with out saying another word. I followed her to her house. She walked through the Dark Wood Forest. The she was attacked by some sort demon that didn’t look friendly, and having a hard time fighting him off. I was ten feet a way from them behind a tree. The demon smiled and raised Reana to finish her. I had to do something so I quickly moved to them.
“Let her go!” I growled angrily.
“Why should you care about her,” he said smiling in amusement.
“Drop her now, or I’ll take you’re life and you’re head,” I continued. My fangs started to grow slowly.
“Very well, I’ll deal with her later it’s your turn.” The demon laughed.
He through me at a tree, which really peeved me off.
“I’ll kill you first Elvin Vampire,” the demon laughed.
“Oh really,” I hissed back while throwing him in the air, causing him to slam into a tree.
I looked at Reana who was lying behind the demon. Then he pulled out a sword then I pulled out mine, and we started to fight. He stabbed me in the side; I fell in pain.
“Now let me see, how should I finish you both?”
Reana then growled, ” You wouldn’t get the chance. You’ve gone to far demon, your life ends here and I won’t be so merciful.”
“Nor will I,” I said now fully in vampire form and pissed.
Reana looked at and said,” Why?”
“I knew I should have told you, but I didn’t think you would believe me,” I said dryly. Which was all I could say, because she wouldn’t have believed me.
“How touching. Have forgotten about me?”
“Oh shut up demon!”
“Never!”
“Fine then I have no choice but to take your head,” I said while grading my sword then sliced his head off. After ward I slowly turned to face Reana; who now was leaning on a tree.
“Are you o.k.? Reana,” I ask worriedly.
“I’ll survive. How about you?”
“Yeah I’ll survive. I’ll walk you home. O.K.?”
“Thanks.”
“No problem.”
We started to walk to Reana’s house without speaking to one or the other. Till we reached her door but we didn’t say much. Afterward she kissed me then I kissed back. Then we said our good-byes and I left.
I don’t know when I got home, but when I did, I found Aubrey and Jessica together laughing on the couch.
“Hi Aubrey what is Jessica doing here?” I growled tiredly and still bleeding.
“Oh we where just hanging out like normal teens do.” He said nervously looking at Jessica. Hoping that I wouldn’t guess he’d told her our secret.
“You told her didn’t you? You’re not a good liar. Also if you haven’t noticed I’m bleeding.” I growled again.
“So that’s whose blood I smelled on you.” He said dryly.
“Well duh!” I hissed.
“Ok. Ok let’s get it cleaned up before I go on a feeding craze.”
“Can I help?” Jessica asked helpfully.
I growled and nodded with pain. After they had helped me with my wounds, we talked about keeping quiet about the secret. Then the doorbell rang I knew it was Reana at the door. I jumped from my seat and dashed to the door to open it.
“Hi Tano is Jessica here? She didn’t come home last night.” Reana with a somewhat annoyed tone in her of voice.
“Yeah she’s here. Would you like to come in and talk?” I replied a little relieved.
“Yeah, that’ll be nice” she said with a shy smile on her face.
I brought Reana to the living room and sat her down by Jessica. We didn’t say much; after that it was more of Aubrey making stupid jokes than talking. This went on until 9:00 p.m. after sun down and the doorbell rang again, that was when we all got deathly quiet. I slowly walked to the door and started to open it. Standing outside was Tony, Zoë, and Joel who is our dad.
Tony looked up smiled and said,” Long time no see bro. Lets have some fun.”
Aubrey ran up and said,” You’re not welcome here leave this place!”
“We’re not going any where without you two.” Zoë shot back.
“We are not going any where with you.” I snarled.
“Oh really. It’s a shame that we’re going to have to force you two to join us.” Farther said sincerely mixed with hate.

Zoë walked toward me with a dangerous look on her face and said to me,” Come on Tano you know how much I love you.”
“No you never loved me, just my strength and power. It was I who was infatuated with you.” I replied sadly.
Reana walked up in a slow graceful stride put an arm around my shoulder and said in a dangerously calm voice,” Get a life you numb nut. This guy is mine.”
Tony laughed and said,” Some body has been busy. I’m impressed. You’re taste in women has changed over the years.”
“ Why is there something I don’t like about this picture hum? Aubrey?” Jessica said walking up behind Aubrey and put her arms around his shoulders then rested her chin on his arm. Tony looked extremely surprised now, so was Zoë.
Father looked pleased by this scene, which didn’t make me, feel any better. Zoë looked more jealous than she did surprised, and I knew why too, because from now on she will have no power over me again. Tony looked really jealous and he is never jealous of anybody. We stood there in silence mentally challenging each other for an hour.
Then Joel said,” Enough of nonsense you out numbered us this time, but we’ll be back when you least expect it!”
“We’ll be ready,” I said cruelly.
“Farewell until next time,” they replied in the same tone as mine.
“Well that certainly was interesting, can we do it again,” Aubrey said sarcastically.
“Who were they anyway and how did they know you?” Reana asked.
“It’s time for a big talk on this subject. Isn’t it Aubrey?” I replied, less enthusiastic as his expression was.
Once we all got back inside I locked the doors and windows so that any vampire would not be able to get in. After that I joined the others in the living room to tell Reana and Jessica the secret that was between Aubrey and me. I could tell this wasn’t going to be easy at all like I had planned.
“Where shall we begin Aubrey, the beginning of everything or the battle where you changed me?” I asked slowly knowing there was no way out of this.
“I think the beginning is best, Tano.” Aubrey answered sullenly.
“Very well, it was the year 21 a.d. when we where born Aubrey is the oldest by three yours, I was born after he was, and Tony was the youngest of us three of course it doesn’t matter now since we’re at battle. An Elf that some had how gotten hold of a Normality vampire’s blood, bit and changed my father in a great battle. The Elf had become the first Elvin vampire, and our father was the second. Then, when he returned twenty years later he had an army of demons, vampires, ghouls, and three dragons. Before his master vampire came and took Tony along with Aubrey as his new vampire slaves. I was left alone without my brothers, father, and soon without a mother, she had been murdered by a water dragon before the battle. Later I had joined the other Elvin Warriors and we marched to the battlefield where I was mortally wounded by our father he was laughing while he drew his sword to finish me. He never got the chance though because Aubrey fought father off, and then, changed me into an Elvin vampire before I lost too much blood. A few centuries latter a small group of dragon/vampires destroyed all Elvin vampires except Father, Tony, Zoë, Aubrey, and I. After that we promised to keep quiet about all this until now.
“We never told anyone what had happened. I haven’t even told Zoë the secret.” I looked at Reana to see what her reaction was, and what I saw surprised me. She was real calm.
“Who is Zoë?” she asked calmly.
“You met her today at the door; she used to be Tano’s love until she turned on him.” Aubrey answered with sort of gaze on his face.
“Some time in the eighteen hundreds, we where caught hunting by a Narragansett tribe and they named us Mo-Hawks. But that didn’t last long. For that reason we never hunt at day anymore.” I continued chuckling.
“Is that all your secret is, just that you are a vampire?” Jessica asked acting surprised.
“Jessica, you knew didn’t you?” Reana said coldly to her sister.
“Yeah I did know. Aubrey told me.” Jessica replied softly.
They stayed over night at my house for their own protection, with Tony, Joel, and Zoë on the loose it wouldn’t be safe for them. At sunrise I was up in a heartbeat. I walked down stairs shirtless, if you’re wondering, then the phone rang, it was Cara, a friend. She’s pretty with long brown hair down to her thighs, blue-green hazel eyes which where usually blue, and a thin patience line with a bad temper to go with it. She’s a witch/shape shifter.
“Hi Tano. Did you go hunting last night?” she asked suspiciously.
“No. Why?” I said half awake and getting my first cup of coffee.
“Is your family in town?”
“Oh no I knew something like this was going to happen.” I groaned tiredly.
“That’s right they killed three little kids and a mother with a unborn kid.” She said with her voice cracking emotionally.
“Who where they? I mean where they your family members?’’
“No they where Teresa’s and Laura’s family members.” She replied.
“Sorry for asking,” I said sadly.
“It’s ok. Meet us at the old house on St. Louis Street at 12:00 a.m. tonight.’’ She said and then hung up.
I went into Aubrey’s room. When I opened the door I saw that Jessica and Aubrey where together in the same bed. I quietly shut the door crept down the hall and burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny Tano?’’ Reana asked slyly.
I turned and said,” Jessica and Aubrey.”
She walked toward me in a cat like way, then she put her arms around my shoulders raised herself so she could kiss my cheek. I moved my head toward her lips and we kissed again and again. I gently slip my arms around her waste then Aubrey walked out of his room to were we where and stared at us in surprise.
Aubrey finely said,’’ Well! Well what do we have here?”
Reana and I turned to see he was laughing historically on the floor.
“Oh yeah if that’s so funny how about you and Jessica in your room?” I said slyly.
“Why you little…’’ his voice trailed off when saw the look on Reana’s face.
Reana annoyed, asked,” Did you and my sister…”
Aubrey jumped, “ Uh bye,” running for dear life to his room shutting the door behind him and locked it.
“Now were where we?” she turned to me and smiled.
Then I felt awkward about the situation all of a sudden but it wasn’t a bad thing. So I bent toward her mouth and kissed her allowing my self to be taken away by the moment. When I parted from her lips we stepped away from each other embrace.
“We have some business to take care of tonight Reana.” I said wantonly to her.
“ What’s that Tano is it your family members, did they hurt anyone?” she said worriedly.
“Yeah they killed some kids and a pregnant mother.” I said in a monotone voice.
She was aghast from the look on her face, but that’s neither here nor there. Then I her told that we where to meet Cara tonight at twelve midnight. She nodded with a ready to kick butt attitude. Although I new this was going to get ugly, I no other choice but to tell her. The way I look at it, we need all the help we can get. Although Cara isn’t going to be too thrilled about the new comers in the gang, she’ll see my point of view sooner or later, hopefully sooner. So, we got ready to meet Cara. She would be there with the gang prepared to fight. Yeah I have a gang, well, I’m part of a gang.
We left at 11:00 p.m. to the old house; we were there at 11:30 not bad timing or anything; we where early, really early. Although I wasn’t ready or looking forward to this, it was going to get pretty interesting from here to the battle. As we walked up Cara turned around and looked at us then smiled an evil smile that she usually does.
“You’re early, who are the two girls; friends of yours?” She said with her usual coy self.
“You could say that their names are Reana and Jessica and I know you hate it when I drag innocent people in a fight without asking.” I replied sarcastically.
“Good. You probably already heard about me I’m Cara the leader of the group that fights against vampires, werewolves, demons, anything, you name it.’’ She said informally.
“The others are Laura, Suasan, Teresa, and Sarah. We need to go and find the rivals they’ll destroy everything. “ Cara said nicely which is scary very scary.
“Where are we going cousin? Hopefully vampire hunting.’’ Suasan said dangerously. Suasan is an elf/shape-shifter, with long brown hair, all ways worn in a braid.
“Of course we’re going vampire-hunting Suasan. That’s what we do you know that as well as I do.’’ Cara replied evilly looking at her best friend Laura who was about to fall over with laughter.
“I think we should go find some fun; come on, I know where they are.’’ Teresa said eagerly to kick some butt. Teresa is a witch/ shape shifter with long black hair to the thighs. She’s also short-tempered like Cara but a little less vile.
We started to walk towards the hide out were Tony, Joel, and Zoë live. It was a really interesting experience with all the ducking and dodging we did to get to this point. Before we got there we encountered three demons, which isn’t easy to do. They were working for my father of course, that was an educated guess. They weren’t pleasant either, might I add. They were very demanding.
“Stop right there. What are you doing here? This is private property. No one passes this point.’’ One demon said rudely.
“We’re here to talk with Joel,’’ I said evenly with his tone.
“Oh yeah, well maybe he doesn’t want to talk to you.’’ The second demon said.
Then it went further from there, with us insulting each other’s ancestors until the three demons attacked us, then the fight was on from that point. It was their mistake, for attacking us with or without Cara and her gang. Cara was handling her self-well, so was Reana. The others started to get into it also. Then, out of nowhere, my father came and started to yell at the remaining demon in a language that only Aubrey and I could under stand.
“You fool you try to deify me you’ll pay for your treason like your brothers. My orders were to not harm my two sons and their friends! You imp go do some thing else while I decide your fate.’’ Father said angrily to the demon.
“Sorry, good help is so hard to find these days. So you’re here to join us, Tano, Aubrey?” he continued.
“No we’re here to destroy you and you friends.’’ Cara stepped forward drawing her sword from its sheath.
“We are also here to avenge Teresa’s family members and mine. I for one am going to enjoy making your life a living nightmare.’’ Laura said evilly. Laura is witch/elf very bad tempered and puts a new meaning to “a bitch from hell’’. She has long black hair worn in a ponytail at the top it’s in a round bun then it as hair flowing down to her ankles.
“I’m here to put to an end to the suffering of thousands of people you have killed over the many years you’ve lived. It’s time to get yours Joel! Justice has come.’’ Sarah said with hate and knowledge rolled in to one. Sarah is a witch/elf with a bad attitude.
“I think they are a little high spirited aren’t they Tony?” father said slyly.
“I’ll say they have some really cute girls exceptionally the brunet with the sword she has nice legs.’’ Tony said referring to Cara, which had a disgusted look on her face.
“I hope you know that I take that as a offence.” Cara said as if she was talking to a jackass. I would do the same thing if I were in her place.
“Well aren’t we the little brat to day. I wonder if your having p.m.s.’’ Tony replied evilly.
“Watch your self vampire she can be worse when she’s pissed and I don’t think you’d want that.’’ Suasan said coyly.
“Oh! How scary, I’m shaking in my boots I’m so scared.” He replied sarcastically.
“You should be!” Cara snarled with full anger she attacked with her full force and killed the other demon; blood splattered all over the front of Tony. His reaction was the same as ours because we never expected it to happen.
“Now are you scared Tony?” Cara said triumphally.
“How did you know our brothers name Cara?” Aubrey asked.
“I’m also part Elvin vampire I didn’t tell you that, but I thought with your keen vampire since of smell you should’ve known that by now.’’ She said.
We where in deep, because Tony was pissed now, and he attacked Cara, but her boyfriend Zeth attacked him from the side and slammed Tony through a wall. Cara attacked Zoë and they got in to a major catfight but with sharper toys. Then Cara transformed in to a wicked dragon and bit one of the vampires that work for dad in half. Then she barbecued the rest of the vampires with fire, which scared the heck out of father, to tell you the truth it was pretty cool to watch. Teresa turned in to a very wicked black tiger and pounced on the nearest demon, then started ripping to shreds flinging blood all over father.
“Retreat and regroup now into the colony.’’ Joel said angrily then turned to us and said,’’ this isn’t over yet!”
“You’re right this isn’t over until the fat lady sings.’’ Suasan said trying to add a little humor to the situation.
It didn’t help at all; we were still glaring at each other. Then Zoë attacked me and I ducked. Which let her flying to the ground in front of Cara, who was glaring at her with pure hate. She slowly got up and started to swing her fist at Cara, who socked her once in the jaw, with a mean left-hook, which sent Zoë flying back to the ground. Then Cara drew her sword and stabbed Zoë in the stomach then twisted the sword. With on last cry of pain Zoë died.
“You little wench, you killed her.’’ Father yelled in shock and horror.
“Nah, you think? You should be a super hero named’ Captain State the Obvious’.’’ Cara shot back at him.
Father started to run for his life Tony wasn’t far behind; Tony looked back at Teresa then smiled. Teresa’s face was very pale.
“Why did he look at me like that; I mean it looked like he had an interest in me.’’ Teresa said slowly.
“Well we should go and rest tomorrow is a school day see you there.’’ Cara said and walked to their hide out where they lived since their parents died.
Reana asked,” can we stay with you at your hide out?”
“ Yes, oh and Tano and Aubrey, you two might as well,” Cara said.
We walked to the old mansion on St. Louise Street. It wasn’t a long walk, and when got inside we went into a room to sleep. I was asleep only an hour when I heard Teresa’s door open. I silently followed her to the front door; she opened it and let Tony in.
“I want to join you and your group. I know you don’t believe me, but give me a chance please.’’ I heard Tony say innocently.
“Why should I give you a chance Tony? You killed some of my relatives.’’ Teresa said coldly to him.
“This is why you should trust me.’’ He said then fiercely kissing her.
“Car-hmmm,’’ Teresa tried to call her friend.
“If you scream I’ll be forced to hurt you and I don’t want to.’’ Tony whispered into her ear.
“To late I’m already here!” Cara said walking in the room with a camcorder in her hand and she pressed play. The camcorder repeated want was said then she pressed stop. “ If you really want to join us then you have to let her go, and then you have to deal with Tano; who is behind you at the bottom of the stair case.’’ She said wickedly to Tony.
I walked from were I was watching and said cruelly,” Hi Tony why do you all of the sodden you want to join us? Is it because father is finally getting tired of you, or you are you a spy for father?”
“Neither, I’m the one who’s tired of father telling me what, and how to do it, and who to hang out with. Also I love Teresa, I’ve been watching her since she was in diapers.” Tony said with a satisfied smile on his face.
“Very well you can join us since you would never lie but on one condition; when we fight father you don’t turn on us,’’ I said sternly to him, which nodded and smiled.
We all walked into the school together like some big gang or a group of friends. Which I guess we are a gang or a group of friends. The only times we parted was when we went to class. We ate lunch as a group and left as a group.
That night we went to the hide out where dad was and started to spy on the forming army. Tony looked sick because he will never be able to look at father the same way again. Cindy who is Cara’s other cousin accompanied us. Cindy is witch/shape-sifter/morscyth/elf and very and I mean very short-tempered; she’s not as bad as Cara but pretty close.
We where never seen until three in the morning by a ShinjuHi vampire. He looked at us as if we were fresh meat. Tony prepared to attack, but the ShinjuHi attacked first. Tony and the ShinjuHi jumped at each other’s necks then the ShinjuHi bit Tony and Teresa screamed. Cara then took the matter into her on hands by summoning up her Celtic power and annihilating the ShinjuHi vampire into nothing but dust and sand. The cool thing was, after that, Cara’s eyes were glowing a wicked green color.
When Cara went to confront Joel, we followed quietly be hind her. Laura looked real scared from what Cara did to the vampire. Teresa was helping Aubrey carry Tony, who was concentrating on healing himself. Sarah and Suasan were stringing their bows for battle. Reana and Jessica were silently thinking of a good attack. Zeth was behind Cara grasping her hand and then kissed it once before letting of it.
“Ah, you’re here, and the turncoat Tony. I’ll have your hearts on a silver and gold planter.’’ Joel said cruelly.
“So what’s the occasion?” Cara asked.
“The awakening of Satan of course and you are the sacrifices. Grab them and bring the leader!” Joel screamed, standing in front of a grotesque, black portal.
Cara started fighting for her life using her Celtic power then she was hit from behind. She tried to get up but she was pinned to the floor by three Bracket Demons. They put us in a cage, except Cara, who was taken to Joel in chains, which she easily got out of, then she drop- kicked the nearest thing next to her, which just happened to be Joel. Cara quickly turned into a wicked deep green almost black dragon and she torched the army of demons and vampires.
Joel quickly got up and threw a fireball at Teresa and Tony; Cara made it go right back to father, torching him. This experience was very interesting from my point of view. Of course Teresa was about to collapse in sheer relief. Then all of the sudden a great black flame came out of the portal devouring Reana, Jessica, Teresa, Zeth and Joel’s blackened corpse. I had tried to get free of the vines that had grown around my ankles. Then when I got free it was too late for my love, who was now dead; along with Tony’s, Aubrey’s and Cara’s (who was devastated and angry). She unleashed her hidden power destroying the portal and what ever was behind it.
Afterward we annihilated the hide out so the portal will stay sealed for good. I said good-bye to my dead love and left without the others. I’ll never be the same again, or so I thought. I slowly walked in front of a hospital and heard three babies cry gently with their mother’s happy sobs. Then I knew I would see them again in time.


Epilogue


It’s been five years sense the battle and the death of my love. Aubrey started to look more lively, Tony too. Cara and I married and had children, with good paying jobs as detectives. Laura started to talk to Aubrey, and Tony and Sarah started dating. Susan fell in love with a rock star that goes by the name Draven. Every thing was perfect until I received a letter saying the end is near, and then the doorbell rang. I slowly walked up to the door and heard a rough voice say,’’ I’m back for revenge Tano my son,’’ the only thing that went though my head at that point was here we go again.
