The Lerancho Project

She slowly rose to her feet, gun shots could be heard from the distance and bullets grazed her finely sculpted face. She turned around and walked away, ignoring the gaping hole in her chest and the missing arm. She could not follow her only attachment to her humanity. What little sanity and control she once had escaped her, and ran off with the other lerancho. Her one and only, her promised one from a life she could not remember but vaguely. The blame of that was placed on the malfunctioning microchips implanted into her brain by Casio, and as well towards the will to forget a world she could never go back to. A world of sanity compared to this hell.

She gave one last look towards the space pirate ship that had stolen her beloved, and the last of her emotions.

But, as with all things, equal exchange was in order. She let her emotions run away with him, lost forever to her, but in exchange, the fates gave her the best of her instincts.

Unknown to her or to anyone for that matter, with the last of her will gone the chips in her head soon had complete control over her actions. N.E.C. could make her do anything without even a nod from her if they wished it now. But since these chips only filtered her will and nervous system, they would soon have too much energy and not enough data in them. Soon, they would backfire.

No. 702A walked back to the lab, to tell Casio what had happened. Another arm replacing the one she had just lost. Flesh and bones filling the void in her chest. Her lungs re-inflated themselves and the heart that was half there stopped spurting out blood and re-grew it’s other half.

She had no idea that soon, memories of her old life, before the experimentation took place, would come flooding back to her. Memories she had not remembered for six years.

If she could have remembered enough to look back on it, it would have felt like a dream she dreamt long ago.
