Welcome Home Justice
When Carla arrived home that afternoon, she went about her usual day. She cleaned the house, folded laundry, helped the girls with their homework, made dinner, all before Stephen got home from work. Yet when he came home, the fireworks started to fly. She could sense something was wrong very quickly, so she told Harmony and Haruka to finish their schoolwork in their rooms and she'd call them when dinner was ready.
"I can't believe you Carla. I just cannot believe that you don't want me in the delivery room when the baby is born. I have always been there with you and for you Carla and I don't understand this behavior change in you. Wait...is this baby not mine? Have you been cheating on me? Is that what this is about?"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT! HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF CHEATING ON YOU!!! It's just, I know how desparately you have been wanting a boy, and I don't want you to act so horribly in the hospital if it turns out that this baby is a girl. And since we don't know yet, I would like to find out by myself so that I can have time to deal with it without you in my face so much. I swear, Stephen, except for when you want a baby, you totally ignore this family and me; so wrapped up in work I don't know how we have survived this long. Just eat your dinner and do your work, and let me deal with this baby."
