Painted Doll
what secrets do you hide?
Behind that makeup and lace.
Do your crimson lips
keep your tongue sealed away?
Keep it from telling the world
of your midnight tryst?
Behind the green eye shadow
do you hide the sorrows
of one so sad?
Perhaps underneath the caked on rouge.
Lies cheeks gaunt with hunger and age.
Pale faced beautiful painted doll.
