Awaiting
In a world of pain
Companionship is hard to find.
Love non-existing.
Sorrow is around every corner.
Loneliness eats away at the soul.
Nightmares haunt the night.
People in the street weeping.
Standing among the ruins.
Their lives shattered.
Corpses lay at their feet.
Sight less eyes staring to the sky.
Forever burning their accusatory gaze.
Who will save us?
When will our cry be heard?
Sitting on a hope and a prayer.
Awaiting the day to be saved.
There is blood on the walls.
Dripping down, forming puddles
Disease runs rampant.
Killing without mercy.
Ignoring the pleas of the victims.
The silent killer strikes again.
Who will save us?
