When the past is haunting you

When consciousness took me over, I felt afraid. I had never felt afraid in my entire immortal life before, so this was a completely new experience for me. And it frightened me even more, the unknown emotion.

I slowly opened my eyes and scanned the area around me. It didn’t look familiar in any way. It was pretty dark in here, but enough light to witness the moonlight shining through the barred windows. Barred? I was locked inside a room! Slowly I stood up, careful since I wasn’t totally stable yet. My thoughts raced, but couldn’t discover how I came here. When I found my balance, I walked towards the window and looked outside between the bars. I was in a tower! I saw the abyss, the trees, the hills. What the fuck?! My mind was spinning with thoughts, and suddenly some sort of vision popped up in my head.

A girl, real tall, slender, red long hair, beautiful front, and an even more beautiful behind. I remembered...an alley. Real dark and a muddy ground, just like an alley should be. Kisses.... But afterwards my mind went blank again. Outside there was nothing that looked familiar in any way, so I gave up upon the useless staring.

I walked around the small cell, thinking, knotting my brain. It was nerve-racking, the silence and the small space. I felt thirsty, and a thirsty vampire wasn’t some one you’d like to meet in a dark alley at night. The minutes, hours seemed to pass and I got more frustrated by the minute. I walked over to the door, grabbed the handle and gave it a firm pull. It didn’t gave in, even when I tried again, even my vampiric powers weren’t enough. Strange, I felt so weak, and this just proved my point. I WAS weak. I decided to sit down on the cold floor and decided to wait, whoever brought me here was bound to drop by sooner or later. Hopefully before I starve...

Hours passed, at least this is how it seemed, and when I heard steps outside the door, I immediately jumped up. Finally someone! When I saw that girl again, I would demand to know how I came here! I heard how some one placed a key in the iron lock and twisted it to the side. Then the girl, ( I assumed it was the girl) grabbed the handle and opened the door. My eyes went huge when I saw the person walking in with a huge grin. This was one of the last persons I expected. I was so shocked, the words stocked in my throat. I must have looked like a fool here, it caused the person in front of me to chuckle.

“Evan…” His name on my tongue was spit out with venom. He closed the door behind him, careful, he didn’t gave me a way to escape so he locked the door behind him and walked into my prison. The grin on his face only increased and worried me immensely. The fact that my old arch nemesis stood in front of me was enough to give me a headache!
”Well, well well,… Never thought I saw you back here…. Heather..” My name rolled of his tongue like a was a disease, a disease that plagued him. He narrowed his eyes at me, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. I hoped I didn’t showed my fear, so I put my hands on my hips and decided to play the bitch.

”I could ask you the same…” I snarled in a typical me-fashion. He laughed, this wasn’t the evil laugh I was used to but a genuine laugh, full of humour. Apparently he found this situation very funny.
“I don’t know where you’re laughing about but I don’t see anything funny here.” He stopped laughing and leaned against the stone wall. He eyed me up and down, I felt his eyes roaming over me. He sighed, then watched him watching me. He still had his thick dark hair, broad jaw and pointy nose. He was tall and broad, almost a head taller then me. His dark eyes bored into mine by the time we were both done looking at each others bodies. He raised an eyebrow and smiled at me. A smile that was an evidence of his evil.

“I’m laughing because you are so funny. Roaming around here like you own the place already, you’ve barely been here for about 2 hours.” The smirk came back and it made me wanted to wipe it of his face.

”I wouldn’t be roaming around here if ‘some one’ didn’t brought me here in the first place.” I sneered as best as I could. But he only enjoyed my pedantry.

“My dear Heather, you should know I always get my revenge.” He sang-song as he strolled around me like a cat sneaking on its prey. It gave me the creeps.
“Revenge for what.. What the hell have I done to you 20 years ago that you still need to punish me for?!” I practically screamed. I was frightened beyond my imagination and Evan around me didn’t helped much. He knew what he was doing, that was obvious. But I really couldn’t remember a single thing, nothing that I had done to him.

“You can’t remember do you..,, you stupid twat! You can’t remember because it meant nothing to you! But it destroyed my life back then!” His cool compure suddenly seemed to vanish, which scared me greatly. Ever since I had known him, he always remained cool and collected. I decided to switch subjects.
“Why have you brought me here in the first place?” I said as calm as possible.
