The Journey
Helpless, who draws the hand to feed the fire
Who carries forth the truth, but never wakes desire
Who makes this journey, shapes the stones, that mark the path I choose?
It isn’t me
It isn’t me
It isn’t you
For all the days I’ve spent to wonder what was best
And never know from where the words may wander next
Who makes this task so difficult, who feeds my emptiness?

It isn’t you
To give and give and get the mediocre end
And smile, and never protest, simply just pretend
Don’t want to cause a ripple in the seas that hold my ship
It isn’t me

It isn’t you
Not once to stand alive and know that all is right
But calmly volunteer the blame is mine to fight
Who makes this journey, shapes the stones, that mark the path I choose?
