Broken
Broken
These tattered wings fold around my frail frame
Distant notions of a life half lived
Questions asked in vain
Darkness shrouds in blinding light
I have surprassed the stages of grief
Images rewind in my head
A bitter reminder that leaves my stomach soured
Along the journey no one thought about it
What could happen when you love too much
The thick haze fogs rationality
Something whispers deep within
Unidentifable and a bit serene
I don;t want to understand
I wish to remain still
Hollowed, cold, but somehow sublimly beautiful
But then you came and forced the breath
Chocking down reality, drowning in a whirlwind of sorrow
The pain borders pleasure, and this body responds
Thrieving in the balance, slowly understanding
I think I learned to hate you
Anger flushes the hurt aside
The pulse beats in my ears
Hooded and lazy, my eyes become
You've woken the monster, rearing it's ugly head
I have my hands around your throat
The questions as, now need answers
The twisted features and the cuve of your smile
Silently whisper all I need to know
You love what you've created don't you?
This conceeded, stont, animated corpse
Eyes grow wide, your last breath gasped
My name lost upon your lips
Do you hear the roar of the angry waves?
Do you feel the tide pull you under?
Not yet? Let me squeeze harder...
