Want to Die Inside
I want to die inside
Bleed until my life is drained
Completely from my body.
Want to scream
Scream until my throat is raw;
Scar tissue forms and I cannot
Speak any longer.
The hatred seeps through me
Like running water in a river.
The sorrow engulfs me
Like the sea.
I sink into its depths
And my breath escapes me.
My existence on this earth
Feels like a mistake.
My loneliness confirms it.
Oh, that I could just disappear,
My soul fading into the wind
My heart crumbling into dust
That is carried out onto the highest stars
Where I may look out upon all that I have done
And all I will be missing.
All that I will never accomplish.
