There had been several an ancient tale of a war hidden in the history of Earth, before the Greeks, before the Acheans, before the Mesopotamians. It started out as a disagreement on a law banning a spell that created monsters from mere bamboo paper and the blood of the conjurer. It left behind a discovered side-effect, though- whoever conjured it would slowly turn into the creature that they drew most often and represented. It was the first method of a summoning that anyone dared create, and it was realistic- gargoyles and demons were created by the Union, the power of the government who believed that the monsters would be used to threaten the Utopian area that they were living in. However, heroic creatures such as the angel and high elves were created to fight these back by the Rebellion, the people who believed that the government were limiting their powers and expressive imagination. There were more people and monsters behind the Rebellion, though, as the government was, indeed, corrupt. However, there were those who merely fought to stop the war itself, though in vain. They became heroes of the war, risking themselves to save either side any people that they could. However, a raid on the largest of Rebellion bases forced them to flee. A great sorcerer learned the ways of the universe, and he was with the rebels. He mixed heavenly gases from far away and formed a new star similar to their home world of Earth- it contained everything they needed in order to survive. He named it Beght, after his only daughter. His wife, Yuka, was one of the few heroes of the war who risked herself to save others. The two had been good friends ever since they were able to walk, and countless times saved each other in battle. The portal to the new world was one that quickly faded away, as it was to another part of the galaxy. Several creatures managed to get through, but Yuka was not so lucky to escape to paradise. She wanted to go with her husband, and refused to leave his side. The sorcerer was caught, tried for treason to the Union, and was sentenced to being burned at the stake. He remained calm on his execution day, and he knew that his wife dearly wanted to go with him to the planet. He’d also miss her in the afterlife, that is for sure. He recalled a fatal spell that could help them though- a spell of immortality and a portal big enough for Yuka to get through to Beght. On that day, as he was being tied, he shouted aloud in the ancient tongue to Yuka, holding her child.
"Fear not! We shall meet again one day, my fair love! Our lovely child Beghta shall not remember me, yet she shall one day when I come back. As for now, I shall send the two of you to live in prosperity among your kind." He chanted, but he mispronounced a syllable, changing the spell totally. Yuka withheld a special necklace- it was a beautiful gold chain, and strung on it were seven glowing jewels carved into beads. It held a pendant with an old symbol, a promise that she’d always do her best to protect everyone. The spell charmed the item, as it was highly magical, and the woman fell. Her soul was sealed within the necklace, and it was later passed down to Beghta, and her child, and that child’s child, and so forth. They now would know the true power of light, as well as one of the most powerful objects in the universe. The sorcerer cried, bleeding from the sharp bounds, and the wood was piled around him. As he burned he made another spell- the spell of immortal reincarnation. There was no way he’d be able to release her from the amulet, it was too strong a spell, and he was weak. So, giving his life up, he chose not to ascend or descend, but to wander on the plane until one like him was born and inherited his powers. Beghta was finally smuggled into Beght, as well as her necklace containing her mother. Peace seemed to reign in the young world, until one day, there was yet another power struggle. The necklace was lost at a point of time and it fell into misguided hands. Beghta had died some years before, but left behind a son to inherit her bloodline and legacy. The power of ruling Beght and its 12 major elements was left in the capable hands of sorcerer’s sons and daughters, all of which were affected by the spell in one way or another. They became immortal by some other spells, as some of the more hungry wizard parents wished, but others were modest. Half were mortal, half were not. The 6 who always are gods and goddesses are the god of fire, god of Beghtian soils, goddess of the sky, god of darkness, goddess of the heavenly bodies, and the Ultima god of power who reigned without error. The six others held key powers in maintaining the balance, though. They were the god of lightning, goddess of water, god of ice, goddess of nature’s green, goddess of wind and flying properties, and the goddess of light. This group of all the gods and goddesses formed what is now referred to as The High Council. Countless times female descendants of Beghta would take the place of light goddess, and the one she would love for the rest of her mortal life, the reincarnation of that great sorcerer, was a matching god. Either way, feuds over the necklace continued, until a strong memory spell came upon the remaining mortals, making it sound just like a myth, then legend. Only the immortal gods and goddesses of the High Council would know, and Beght grew dark when a descendant of light failed to show for over 6000 years...
