Inarticulate Emotion
My dad
sat in front of that streaming
picture box nightly,
sucked into his chair,
feet up
absorbed into every word,
every sound...
as for the family around him
he just ssshhh'd us
to be quiet.
I hated that box...
And now that same box,
except with a better picture
due to cable,
captures all of your attention
as well.
I hate that box...
