The Prodigy Poems

Darkness Calls
by: Prodigy

Mother yells,
Father hits.
I wipe my eyes
Upon my mitts.
I dream of sand,
I dream of sun.
I wonder why
My lifes begun.

I ask my friends.
They talk of hanging and shooting.
My enemies laugh,
And of my demise they are rooting.

Now I climb the steps
To the roof above.
If only I'd been shown,
The faintest touch of love.

I run and jump.
My body waits for the break of the fall
In a crumpled heap
I hear darkness call.
