The Darkest Path
She walks ever solemnly,
Down the forlorn road,
Unable to shake the feeling
That she was alone.
Her eyes began to wander,
Her hands began to shake.
The truth of her security,
Began to seem so fake.
Her world began to crumble,
Her faith began to fall.
She reached up to the heavens,
But no one was there, at all.
Soon depression took her,
Drowned her in it’s hate.
She tried so hard to find her way,
She struggle to be awake.
But as the nightmare took its course,
And dragged her deeper within,
She saw the gates of Hades’ door
Which opened to let her in.
She was greeted by giggles and laughs,
But she could not see the sky,
The façade of their sweetened smiles,
Had to be a lie.
And suddenly the faces changed,
To allow a new one in,
The sweet smiles rearranged
Into a devilish grin.
She began to tremble
From the tumult of it all,
If only someone had been there
To save her from her fall.
Down the forlorn road,
Unable to shake the feeling
That she was alone.
Her eyes began to wander,
Her hands began to shake.
The truth of her security,
Began to seem so fake.
