Prologue
Hello, my names Mika Yamamoto, I’m twenty-three years old and I currently live in Tokyo, Japan. All my life I wanted to convey myself through the music of my violin in a mix of classic-rock and hip-hop. It’s been over two years ago since I broke into the music world…well the music world of bars and some little off the coast joints. It was then that I met him; Kiyoshi Taji. Well the truth was that I had known him since high school and liked him through all four years of it, but I never had the guts to tell him how I felt then.
When he walked in he didn’t give the impression had he had changed at all. Still tall, lean and handsome as anyone I had ever known and it was then that my heart began to pound in the last chorus of the song. My heart was unexpectedly eager that I might find the courage to tell him how I still felt, when it dropped with a low note of the song, my heart hitting the floor. Walking in with him was his childhood friend, Aiko Natsukoden who was alleged that in high school they were dating. Aiko-san was tall, gorgeous, and it didn’t hurt that he was blonde, blue eyed and rich either. Aiko-san being half Japanese and American his father was hesitant to let his bastard child take over the family business, but as it turns out he would soon take over his father Natsukoden-sama’s company.
What was I thinking? Akio-san fits Kiyoshi-san perfectly, like they always had, my eyes seeing their hands coupled together. As the last note of my violin rang out it was then that Kiyoshi’s eyes locked with mine as he apparently caught me watching him through the dense fog of cigarette smoke in addition to the stench of beer. A round of applause rolled out over the people that were actually paying attention to me, though it wasn’t a lot, I saw Kiyoshi-san clapping as a cigarette hung low from his lips.
He probably doesn’t even know who I am.
