The Girl

The Girl
The pain she hides so deep inside
The bruises on her face
She covers them so carefully
To hide her own disgrace
No one sees the tears she cries
They cannot fathom all her pain
What do they know of being hurt
Of hiding from the shame
The clothes she wears, the way she looks
The way she lives her life
This is what she is punished for
Who knows all what she hides
Do you want to know this girl?
Do you want to know her life?
Just take a long look in the mirror
And see what is inside
Everyone should know this girl
She lives inside their hearts
For everyone to some degree
This girl is just one part
The things you see and what you do
Reflect on the way you feel
So keep in mind that this young girl
Is the one who will feel the pain
So try your best to keep her safe
And guard your heart with care
Don\'t believe all the things you hear
Just remember that she is there
