PROLOG!!!

I groaned as my feet throbbed from walking so much. It felt like we’d been walking forever! I sighed in relief, as I saw a clearing up ahead. When we got closer I shrieked in joy at the sight of a cabin, the first sign of life id seen in miles. So filled with joy, I ran toward the cozy looking cabin not removing my eyes till I reached the door. The sight looked almost as if it’d been taken right out of a book: the warm glowing light seeping from the windows, the grayish clouds of puffy smoke rising from the chimney.

All at once I fell like I was in a dream. A slight smell caught my attention as I reached to knock. The tantalizing smell of a home cooked roast filled my nostrils and captured my mind in a whirlwind of scrumptious images that just might be what was cooking just beyond my fingertips. Suddenly a loud wolf like growl sounded from my stomach shaking me from my mouth watering thoughts. I looked to my side and saw my two friends staring dreamily at the cabin door, obviously captured by the same smells as I had been.

Pushed by the motivation of hunger, I stretched out my hand and knocked roughly on the door. There was a sudden jolt from inside, followed by silence. Then with a loud clack, the wooden door flew open revealing a rather angry looking man. He was shockingly young, about 17 or so, rather tall, id say 6 feet at least, and muscular upper body. He defiantly gave of an “athlete” vibe. Yet, there was something horribly wrong with his appearance. He had fairly long sideburns, thick shoulder-length hair, and hair covered what parts of his arms I could see. Id thought it was strange at first, but pushed it to the back of my mind and concentrated on getting a place to stay for the night.

After explaining our story to him over some hot tea-like substance, he agreed to let us stay the night. He led my two friends and me over to the fireplace with some blankets and said “you can sleep here, it’ll warm you up.” We said our thanks, and then made our beds. Changing out of my snow-soaked jeans and into one of my “too big for me t-shirts” I slid in to my nest of blankets and hugged my friends. There, in front of the fire Melody, Krisy, and I finally fell into a deep sleep.

A creek in the floorboards woke me with a shock. The warm glow that had once lit up the whole room had burnt out while we’d been asleep and left nothing but darkness and cold chills. I squinted in the darkness but could not see a thing. Wanting to know what had woken me; I stood and slowly circled around the sofa. A beam of reddish light slipped through the window. As I peered out a shiver passed over me. The moon was the color of blood.

I jumped when another creak sounded from the floor boards. I looked at my feet, suddenly my breath caught in my chest as I realized the creak hadn’t been made by me. Someone else was in that room. Someone was hiding in the shadows, watching my every move! I froze. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t even blink I was so afraid id miss something. I tried to act like I was just looking outside still, but then I had the sensation washed over me. I was so petrified, even beginning to scare myself with terrifying thoughts. ‘What if it’s some mad lunatic?’ ‘What if someone jumps out and rapes me!?’ I tried to scream but nothing came out. ‘I\'m going to die! Right here, Right now!!!’ a hand touched my shoulder and I spun around ready to kick butt.

“What are you doing up? Its freezing….wh…where are your pants?”
