Dark Peace
Disclaimer: This story does indeed contain a small rape scene. If this offends, I apologize. But that is not until later chapters. Also these are my own characters. Please do not use them with out asking. ^_^. Appreciate it. R&R. Any ideas are welcome to be expressed and will be taken into consideration. Thanks. Enjoy!
~Dark Peace~
The dark hides many horrors. . . Each as sad and horrifying as the last; some are worse. Each curse different and each deadly. . . Two factions on opposite sides, working against each other. . . Two prides fighting for territory and for a war whose origins are lost in the sands of time. How will it end? Who knows? Let the story unfold as seen the eyes of the Damned.
Chapter 1: The Vampyr
My name for this life is Hirioto of House Chaton. My mother is head of the line. . . We are Vampyr. I call her mother because it is her ichor that flows in my veins. I am her fledgine. I was once a mortal cow . . . Prey for all those who live in the shadows. But now . . . Now I am of the strongest of the four lines and am no longer prey to those of my kind . . . The Great Queen, the ruler of the Vampyr and the original Vampiress, fledged only four Vampyrs and each began their own line. In order of age from oldest to youngest: Draconis, Chaton, Bandine, and Roman.
The line of Bandine, begun in the 15th century, is the weakest of the four lines. Those of this line do not kill their prey immediately. Instead they prefer, instead, to feed off several “cows” for three or four years; using a specialized bond to keep the prey in thrall and other Vampyr (of the same line or other lines as well) from taking their “toys” (as they call those poor mortal cows they feed on). Branna Brandine, the first of the Brandine line, was a beautiful woman (though not as beautiful as Lionel Roman, as she was rotund and her face was kindly but could never be called precisely beautiful) and after receiving the Vampyr ichor erased all the mortal flaws on her body. But it was not for this that she was chosen. She was chosen for her subtle manipulation of those around her. The Great Queen saw much promise of strength in Branna. Unfortunately that promise of strength never came to fruition. This line is a special line to the Great Queen. . . She favors them as special pets.
The line of House Roman, begun in the 15th century, is the next weakest. This line is renowned for their attraction to the arts, particularly music and dance. All those of the Roman line have an astounding ability with some form of music and/or dance. Lionel Roman was chosen for his melodious bass (both voice as well as strings). He was a dancer in his prime when he was changed. His lithe agile body was only enhanced with the Vampyr ichor. Now he moves with a grace that is likened only to that of a feline on the prowl. Those of his line are chosen for ability with music. They charm their prey with sweet music and dance. This is their down fall. Many mortals are not swayed by music and dance.
The Draconis line, began in the 14th century, is the strongest next to my own and they are chosen for their beauty of body. Soterios Draconis was even more beautiful than Branna, and he knew it . . . but his spirit was as beautiful as it was deadly. This combination is what drew the Great Queen to him. She knew immediately he was special, and unappreciated in his time. She also knew his beauty should never be squandered in death and the grave. She gave him the elixir of immortality, her own ichor, a precious gift indeed. To this very day, his beauty outshines all of his line and all others except that of the Great Queen herself. Those of his line use their beauty to charm their prey, and killing them slowly.
The line of Chaton is the strongest of the four lines. This line is not known for its beauty or manipulations of bonds, but for its strength of will. Laurili Chaton was a strong willed woman in the 14th century. She ruled over her little plot of land with a gentle but firm hand and was never challenged, until the men began to fear she would forget her place. They laid siege to her home. Laurili held strong for many, many days, until the supply of food ran out. She finally surrendered and was held for treason. On the day she was to be executed, a woman walked to her and hugged her like a sister. This was the Great Queen. With the ichor of the Great Queen now flowing in her veins, she escaped the prison unseen, but leaving an illusion of herself there and holding it with just the strength of her mind. Mind control is the greatest strength of this line, but also its greatest flaw. This line can hold a mortal under their sway for as long as necessary however it uses much of their strength and requires most of their concentration. Mind control is not very productive when trying to do large scale manipulations.
The lines, though ruled by the Great Queen, form a council to make important decisions that will affect all lines. This has insured our survival for all these millennia. Unlike those creatures who fight us: the Were’s. Our people have been fighting since the dawn of us all. The reason has been lost in the sands of time.
