A life of Lies

Quietly a young woman with soft brown hair and honeyed eyes steps into the forest edge finding a small deer beside the edge of a pond, the deer is young and eating the soft growing grass at the base of a tree. quietly she approches, as not to scare the little one. slowly and with care she pulls her flute from her bag, she plays a sweet song, that the birds only improve. the small deer comes to her on unsteady legs, she holds out her hand showing oats that she had been eating before she found the pond, the baby deer goes to take the oats but a loud sound scares it and it runs from sight.
She heads towards a nearby town hoping to find a place to sleep. Knowing that the nearest town was not the safest place to be but she could defend herself if it came to having to fight others to survive in this town. At the gates of the city many people look at her strange, her clothes are not like thiers, her clothes are made of hides, with sinue in her hair to tie it away from her face, the towns people point towards the inn not knowing what to say to give directions, slowly she walks to the inn and steps inside, the front counter is busy and the lingering scent of smoke and ale is nearly sickening, she goes and stands beside the open window hoping to get some fresh air. after some time she goes to the counter and asks for a room.
She finds her room and it smells as though an animal had died in there, then she relizes that the room she is in was an old storage room. The Inn Keeper not liking Drows had given her a room that they would not have given any one else. Disgusting , the inn keeper gave her this room because she did have a sensitive sense of smell.
The walls were splattered with old blood and the floor was stained black, the wood of the floor no longer its golden brown, the window had been nailed shut to keep insects out and birds out, there was a solitary spider web in on corner its creator sitting in the center, watching and waiting for something to get caught in its sticky strands.
A sickly smell was leaking from somewhere in walls, wondering what it was she checked all the walls in the room, She soon found a small hole and some strange kind of mushroom growing. Carefully she reached in and got one out, they were slimy and strange colored, blue-ish pink and grey. She understood the smell now, Poison.. She dropped the mushroom and continued to search the room, Soon she heard a faint wimpering, she hit the wall breaking a hole in it. Ah fresh air. there was a small child here hiding in the darkened corner of this little room in the wall.
\"Little one come out i will not hurt you.\" this child was drow like her, large aqua-marine eyes stared at her from inside this little hole in the wall. The little girl motioned that she was not able to talk. Leana stepped back to let the little girl out. The little girl wrote her name in the dust on the floor, Taline.
\"Taline? what a pretty name.\" Taline motioned to Leana, asking her name. Leana knelt down and said, \" Leana, my name is Leana.\"
Taline wrote a question in the dusty sunlit floor, \" Sister, my sister?\" Leana didnt know what to say, she only looked down at this girl who\'s face reminded her of her own little sister that was lost in a raid. Because Leana had lost Nina in that raid, she had vowed to never get close to anyone, but she couldnt turn this little one away.
Leana shook her head to disloge the memories, \" Taline, I am your sister, i came to find you.\" Taline jumped up and wrapped her frail body around Leana\'s strong one. Taline was crying. \"Hush little one, I\'m here now.\"
Talina tried to tell the story of how she came to be at this awful town but having no voice it made it hard for her to tell Leana the story. Leana told her to write it in the dust. Talina tells the story, harboring the nightmare for these three long years and now passing it on to Leana.
Horrors filled this young ones head, and now Leana had only a glimpse into what nightmares where scaring Talina. Memories filled her head as she remembered what had happened when the humans had invaded her home, taking her family from her, the image of her mother lying so still in that pool of deep red blood scared her and stayed still etched in her mind.
The times of her happiness she had with her family had died with them, her joy in life died. She resorted to killing things now and people who angered her. she looked down to the child, Taline, who was sitting and staring at her, shaking her head she lead her from the room and went to the shop keeper, grabbing him by the collar of his filthy shirt, \"Are you the fool who locked this little girl in that room?\" she demanded to know. Only getting a shaking answer. \"I - I only work here, the owner sits over there in the corner booth....I will get the child food.\" he hurried to the back and she headed to the owners table. Putting her hand flat on the table she stared at this man. he only looked up and asked, \"Who are you?\" She didnt answer, just drug him up from the table and brought his face to hers, \"Did you stuff that little girl drow in that slaughter room?\" she was angered and it showed. The man only answered with a nod.
