The Snake
by WhooperJr

J.T. can see the sun’s final setting as he sits in the park ontop of the twisty slide. The day is warm, for it is still summer. School yet to start, only a few weeks away. This matters little to him of this moment. The need to be anywhere but home, where the angry words are always shouted. Sometimes they are even shouted at him.

J.T. is not the most beautiful of boys. His brown hair and eyes making him even less special in looks. Scrawny build as a growth spurt has yet to hit this twelve year old’s body. His parents are both struggling with debt and bills, so often are stressed when they home. Today’s words began because his father was laid off and his mother blames him for being lazy. J.T. is not sure about that, as he sees his dad as the hardest working man. Sometimes their angry words make him feel so bad, he has to get away! Sometimes he feels his birth was an accident and he should not even exist.

The park is his refugee. All the kids have gone home to watch television and eat so there is no one to bother him. J.T. lays curled ontop of the slide. Looks at the clouds to see the shapes. Sometimes they look like animals. Sometimes they look like planes or boats even. It becomes so easy to just close his eyes....

It is dark when J.T. opens his eyes again. Wipes the sleep from them as the lights outside the park hardly light it up. The air cooler but still comfortable. So alone, in the park, as it closes at sunset. So alone in life.

Voice speaks out in the darkness around him, “ Dear, child.... What are you doing here alone?”

J.T. jumps as he can’t see who it is, “ Go away! “

Voice, “ Ssssooo alone.... My dear child, you could befall dangerous people being out alone. You sssshould be at home.”

J.T. is reminded of snake, with all the hissing on the s sounds, “ You’re not my mom or dad!” he bites back.

Voice, “ No... I am not. But I sssenssse you are avoiding home.” It seems to slide closer.

J.T., “ No.... I don’t want to go back.”

Voice, “ You wissssh you were dead?”

J.T. felt his pain coming back, “.... Yes, I do! They don’t love me. They think I’m a burden!”

Voice, “ You want to belong. To be loved. Everyone doessss... “

J.T. feels something cool and scaly slide around his body. The snake seems to be caressing him gently. His body shivers from this, part from fear and part from fascination. He is reminded of a snake his friend had shown him before the boy moved away. The feel of the pet on his arm pleasing in ways he could not address. Even now, it feels so good. He reaches out and caresses the scales.

J.T., “ I wish I could see more of you. I bet you are pretty.”

Snake, a bit shocked, “ You wisssh to ssssee more?”

J.T. whispers, “ Yes, please... “

Snake comes into view. It is indeed lovely, or so he thinks, from what light he has. Scales seem to be greenish, possible a rich shade in the daylight. His hand reaches out and pets the snake’s head. The unblinking eyes are so alluring, as he seems to be smiling. Its head somewhat larger then J.T. and length of his full body hard to determine.

Snake, “ You want to belong to ssssomeone? You can join with me, young one. “

J.T., “ But how can I do that? I’m not a snake.. I’m a human!”

Snake, “ Only the brave can take that sssstep and change their path. If you want ssssomething enough, you mussst reach out for it. Bessssides, what do you have to losssse?”

J.T. thought about it. Maybe, he should? His parents would never have to worry about caring for him again. Can he become more then human?

J.T., “ Okay, I want to do it! “

Snake quickly moves his head forward nipping J.T. in the arm, making him yelp in shock and pain. What is the snaking doing?!

J.T., “ Hey!”

Snake, “ Sssshhhh.. just ssssomething to relax you. It will wear off sssssoon.”

J.T. tries to run but the venom is already in his system making his body sluggish and numb. The boy falls from the top of the slide, to be caught by the snake and gently lowered to the ground.

Snake, “ It ma be sssscary at firsssst, but ssssoon it will be over. Sssssoon, you ssshall never be alone.”

J.T. wanted to cry out but his throat no longer worked. Watches as the snake’s mouth moves to his feet, taking them in. Can’t really feel much, but faint sensations down there. Thinks the snake is soaking his feet down with its own saliva. The mouth moves forward to the ankles pushing the feet into the throat. J.T. watches with growing fascination as his ankles and shins vanish into the tight warm throat. This reminds him of watching the pet snake eat the rat. So scary now and still so fascinating. The snake seems to be enjoying this as well, tasting his yummy flesh as he slurps him down. Snake soon comes to his hips, J.T. can see his lower half is an odd bulge in the snake’s body. A growing bulge as the snake takes more of him in. His numbness now fading so he can feel the warm, tight, and wet tunnel that is pulling him down.

By now, J.T. lost any interest in escaping. As if a secret desire is being played out that not even he was consciously aware of. Even at his age, his body found this arousing to an degree. Mouth moves past his hips taking in his hands as the snake’s lips climb across his stomach. Past his chest and shoulders so all that is seen is his head. Tongue licks his face so lovingly, like caresses of a mother’s hand that he has not felt in a long time. His body being pulled further into the tight darkness.

Is this becoming one with a snake? he wonders as he an no longer see. His head swallowed on one last gulp. Body sliding down even more, in dark comforting tunnel. Wonders if his mother’s womb was anything like this? Beat of a snake’s heart maybe even more better then his mother’s could have been. J.T. is so sleepy now. His body feels so strange anyway but a comfortable numb. His mind drifts away from his body. J.T. then realizes he is being digested.

It is okay though... no pain nor fear are here. This is place that nothing but pleasure and happiness can exist. Something else seems to pull at him now. The snake, he can feel it pulling at his soul. To become one and never alone. To never be rejected. J.T. gladly gives gives in and the snake consumes him.
