SCHOOL DAYS
The warm rays of sun light gracefully streamed through the dust collecting windows, shinning down on to the loveable lump tucked safely under the bulky mountain of blankets stacked high on the standard twin sized bed.
BEEP

BEEP
BEE-
The vexing bright red mechanical contraption was effortlessly chucked across the room were it met its agonizing end when it came into contact with the dark blue wall, slightly scuffing the paint. Bits and pieces of metal scraps were flung every which way as the horrendous alarm clock uttered its last declaration, a small click that pierced through the unearthly silent room.
“JASON TIME TO GET UP!!!”
A delicate pale hand slipped forth from deep under the black cocoon made from a thick comforter, it elegantly jerked its wrist and raised its middle finger efficiently flipping off the closed wooden door but more importantly the unknowing nagging voice which reverberated off the hall walls.
“Stupid Bitch, who does think she is my mother !?”
The boy known as Jason tore the blankets from his slender form with the same hand which he had used for the international ‘Fuck you’ symbol. Jason Carter had just turned sixteen, and was blessed with a slim build commented with yards of flawless but unusual aristocratically pale skin. Sitting on top of his perfectly oval shaped head with a narrow jaw line was a teeming mop of silky yet untamable ebony tresses which just so happen to be sticking up in every direction. The loss of sight was slowly getting on his high-strung nerves.
“JASON HURRY UP, YOUR BREAKFAST IS GETTING COLD!!”
The adolescent boy sighed and mentally cursed out his idiot step-mother; sadly the woman just didn’t know when to shut the incredibly loud and ignorant mouth of hers. Sadistic ideas cluttered his thoughts as he replayed the thousands of ways he could efficiently make her silent for once since her and his basturd of a father had eloped. He mused these twisted opinions as he quickly slid his baggy green plaid pajama pants down his pallid thighs and then started to slowly peal off the constricting black short sleeved shirt that stuck to his willowy torso like a second skin.
He rushed to slip on his customary school uniform with its semi formfitting un-creased black trousers, pristine white button up short sleeved dress shirt and the odd inky black blazer which had shiny gold buttons that went all the way up to his chin like those the Japanese children wore. Well his principal Mrs. Itachi was a very culture enthusiastic person having traveled the world and married a slightly older Asian man who just so happened to be his history teacher; so he might have had some say in the newly adapted outfits.
An insanely malevolent chuckle escaped Jason’s pale throat when he recalled his earlier thoughts of stapling his step mothers lips closed; he then decided to hell with it and tossed his head back laughing in such a manor that even the craziest of demons would have been to some extent disturbed by it. Oh well he was a little…..unique
“You’re a weirdo.”
Jason quickly spun around on his heels to give the plump girl standing in his door way the darkest glare he could muster, and to a seven year old that could be pretty damn frightful. The child’s innocent light blue eyes widened at the sight of the heated glower she was receiving from the scarier and unstable older boy; she quickly turned around and ran from the room as fast as her little legs would carry her heavier being, long golden waves of hair pulled into two long pigtails on each side of her little chubby head streamed behind. Her frightened screams erecting the household into an udder state of panic and chaos.
“….shit….”
The lad let out a irritated sigh as he came back to his senses and realized he had to get his ass out of there; he hurriedly pulled on his pristine white socks thinking of a way to escape the dreaded lecture he was going to receive form that horrible female Linda. He physically cringed at the name of the vile creature; what his good for nothing father ever found in that horrendous beast he’d never know.
“JASON!!!”
The shriek made him cower even more, he knew that whinny little bitch Emily went running to her mommy and cried about how the unhinged big bad step-brother was scaring her. He hastily shoved his feet into his faded tennis sneakers before running his fingers through the messy mop of hair as a way to slightly control the fly away strands while at the same time trying slinging his black and sliver backpack over his shoulders. He scanned the room for an exit of some kind and that’s when his deep azure eyes framed by thick black lashes landed on the window, his last resort. Racing towards the closed opportunity he quickly he flung it open with little difficulty. What he wasn’t expecting was the cloud of dust that rose into the air making the escapee sneeze loudly.
“Note to self clean windows more often.”
With that scribbled down in his mental to do list he slid one trim leg out over the seal closely fallowed by the other and let fate take over, there was three possibilities A) He would fall and sustain severe damage to not only his body but his pride when his father and the witch ran out. B) same as A except that he would be taken to the hospital and be yelled at for doing something so stupid and then again for making Emily cry or C) He’d fall and either limp or walk away without being caught. He silently prayed for opinion C as clenched his eyes shut and pushed his body forward letting gravity do its thing.
Well at least something was on his side.
Jason was lucky enough to hit the ground feet first, where he let out a string of very colorful curses as the shock of the impact rapidly ran its way up his legs.
“Nice.”
Sapphire eyes gazed at the inhumanly attractive, wispy silvered haired boy leaning up against the trunk of one of the many mighty oak trees that surrounded the overly polished three story brick house. The boy who just so happened to be wearing the same uniform as Jason brushed back a long strand of silky goodness that had fallen into his eyes, a snicker severed its way from the pastel lip as he shook his head carelessly at the cute pout that graced his best friends face,
“Shut up Kage!”
The boy named Kage just rolled his brilliantly eerie dark crimson eyes before stocking forward slowly effortlessly so him and Jason were soon eye to eye.
“JASON GET DOWN HERE!!!!”
Both boys turned to look at the sizeable house then turned to gawk at each other once more before quickly sprinting down the chipped sidewalk at top speeds; their sneakers banging in step to a rheumatic pattern.
Eventually they stopped only to lean against the other panting desperately for some much needed air but at that second the unsightly yellow bus that stopped right in front of them make it difficult to breath as they choke on the disgusting black smog that roused up around the back of the automobile.
“Sometimes I just hate life.”
“Dido.”
The hideous bus door swung open and both stepped on only to give the overweight bus driver a sincere smile; the lady may not have been the best driver but all the students loved her anyway. Mrs. Walden smiled back at the boys showing of her coffee stained and crooked teeth, her face wrinkled by age however seemed to glow somewhat as her soft brown eyes twinkled happily when her two favorite students hopped on.
“Morning boys.”
“Morning,” they chorused together before sauntering down the thin strip of walking space to their seat which they always shared, ignoring all the looks of disgust and admiration they were given the latter mostly by the younger students.
“Hey Guys over here we saved you a seat.”
A loud voice toppled over all the other conversations as a brunette haired boy stood up on his seat and started waving enthusiastically towards the seat across from him and his tall, muscular blond bench mate; the other boy’s head was currently bobbing to the thunderous rock music that blasted out of his head phones. Both lads wearily walked to the empty space; Kage waited patently for Jason on slid in close to the window before continuing himself.
“Hate to burst your bubble Zack but we always sit here. I mean our names are carved into the frame work,” explained Kage as he gently eased himself into the seat then motioning to the sprawled out childlike letters that made up the statement ‘Jason and Kage’s seat ’. A drop of sweat became evident on the side of Zack face and if this was like any good anime which he avidly watched he would have face planted right onto the unsanitary bus walkway.
“…I knew that.”
“Sure you did short-stack,” replied a deep velvet like voice as it chuckled at the unconvincing expression on the smaller boys face.
The trio glanced at the boy who sat beside Zack, who was smirking at the looks of confusion written all over the others’ faces.
“I thought you were listening to music Damien?”
“I was,” replied the boy Damien off handedly as he pulled down his head phones to sit around his thick neck. Jason sighed desperately and allowed his body to fall forward making his head hit the back of the seat in front of him with a reverberating smack; Kage winced while Zack and Damien made little faces.
“That had to hurt.”
“I think he hit the wood.”
The boy sat up holding his now bruise forming head cursing under his breath about everything going down the shit hole when a snappy young girl that had been sitting in front of him turned around with a disgusted glower on her face. He knew this girl she sat behind him in math class and what was one would call preppy, with her crinkled dirty blond hair pulled into a tight bun that was being held up by thousands of colorful butterfly clips, and the layers of cotton candy pink lip gloss painted on her other wise thin lips. In class she would always chatter with her equally vain friends about boys and what she was going to do or did on the weekend, when not doing that she would try her luck by putting the moves on him and his click. In truth Jason loathed her with all his might; she was up near the top of his to kill list right next to evil step-mother and ass kissing step-sibling.
“Don’t hit my chair you lo- …..Oh hi Jason I didn’t know that you were sitting there.”
Her voice was quite high pitched and made Jason wonder if his ears had start bleeding, and sadly he was actually hoping they were so he would have an excuse not the listen to her many useless rantings.
“I sit here all the time. I’ve sat here since grade school, and I will continue to sit here throughout high school now please leave me alone.”
He was wishing that would be the end of this conversation but only those trained highly in the behavior patterns of vain high school girls would know that they don’t let things end all that easily.
“Hey Jason you know Steve is throwing this mad party on Friday and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?” she asked batting the fake eyelashes that had been plastered on earlier that morning.
Jason shot his friends a desperate ‘Help me or else I’ll go crazy and slaughter a whole bunch of baby seals’ look which only he of course could pull off.
“No he wouldn’t, now go back to the damn pot hole you crawled out of. He’s mine got it M-I-N-E MINE!!!” shouted Kage as he slid closer and wrapped an arm around his friends shoulders; he rested his head in the crook of the other boys neck. Jason tried but couldn’t hide the deep blush that covered his usually pale face but knowing his friends acting skills when he saw them played along.
“Oh Kage not now we’re in public.”
“Its not like anyone will notice,” mumbled the silver haired boy as he lightly nibbled on Jason’s unsuspecting ear making his best friend gasp, shutter and lean closer to his own body.
The girl shrieked in disgust and jumped to her feet grabbing her hot pink bag and raced off the bus just as it pulled up in front of a large moldy, paint chipped building afraid the she would get infected with the homo-cooties.
“I owe you,” muttered Jason.
“Damn right and I plan on collecting bitch!!” laughed Kage as he picked up his own black messenger bag and fallowed the rest of the crowd off the school bus. A shaky and nervous smile played across Jason’s mouth as he too stood up.
“Why do I get the feeling he’s not joking?”
