The Young Child

The Young Child

Who would have thought on that day that they would meet? It was a day like many others though today was nice and sunny making it warm out for a change. Although there were clouds out which were starting to build up in great numbers, this however did not stop a middle-aged man known as Garth from coming into town on that day; he was a bit fearless of storms one might say. The reason that this man was fearless was the fact he had a power inside of him which could destroy and protect many when used in the correct fashion.
As he walked through the town, he glanced about window shopping. Though the town was not huge in size, it did have a decent number of items for the day and age. Though this was a modern aged town in a modern aged world, one thing that had remained from the past was the law of the sword. The world was set in a medieval fashion where many still fought with swords, guns, fists, bows and arrows. Kings still ruled this world and that would be how it would be for all time it seemed.
While Garth was walking along and looking in the windows, he caught the scent of fresh bread from the local baker who had set out the fresh bread that he had made up. It was getting later in the day, the winds were picking up and to have a nice fresh hot slice of bread would be perfect to warm Garth up. Starting towards the door of the bakery, his attention was caught by a sudden crash which sounded like thunder and small pieces of garbage flew all around. He glanced about and stepped to the side of an alley, low and behold he could see a young girl, who couldn’t have been over the age of 11. He found it sad for the war that had been fought eight years ago ended up leaving many children without parents or parents without children, such a sad thing it had become.
It had been a bloody and cold war being fought by two kings and even Garth had fought in it. It had been his last war and he vowed that he wouldn’t fight again. The things that he had seen were terrible. They were the kinds of things that would make a man go crazy. One such memory remained in his head. It was of his ally’s going into a home and gutting the children and then taking the mother and beating the shit out of her, breaking bones, ripping her flesh apart, and then raped her over and over again until she finally had died. Such evil was within those men. However, it is unknown as to how they were killed. It was said when they found the bodies of the men the flesh was burnt and their hair was standing on end. The scent of death was found all over the home. The truth of the matter was that Garth had killed them and he had been brutal about it. He vowed that there would be no more harmed in such an evil and cruel fashion, so help him! He would not fight for an evil king. It was then he slay those who stood there joking and laughing about such vile crimes. Blasts of lightning were struck into men’s chests. The scene was that of a massacre and because it only took a split second to throw his fist, many didn’t get to defend themselves. After the bloody show Garth left the army and went back to the land known as the Thunder Planes and built himself a home. The river known as the Thunder Planes River had the power of lightning flowing through it and in the night one could hear the thunder blasting from the river. In times of war, it was loud and raging then in times of peace it was peaceful.
As Garth looked over and saw the young girl, he frowned at her youngness. He never had had a chance for a child of his own for his one true love died in his arms. He was just 19 years old when she was slain by a surprise attack from an enemy who had slaughtered his whole city. As he stepped forward, the young girl cowered from him with fear. Her small body was covered in bruises. The black and blue markings covered her arms, legs and even her neck. So unfair that such a sad little girl had to live such a harsh life. However, he had found her. Perhaps he could change things for her. As he stepped forward towards her, he spoke softly to her \" Easy now young one for I am not going to hurt you.\" Even though his voice was very gentle when he spoke to her she still seemed unsure for she had heard that story many times before. Those times had ended up with her getting hurt.
(I will add more later just thought I would get this up for now expect the next part very soon)
