The Chronicals of The Shandow Club

*Sigh* My second story.

It centers around a group of characters I made up about four to five years ago and since I can now write it up without anyone having to tell me it doesn\'t belong in a certain section, I have decided to do so.

All of this is purely fiction and nothing written in here is real. The people do not exist and their, er, \"special abilities\" do not reside on this earth or in any other human.

. . . . . If you wish to believe that.

However, one character, Shadow, is loosely based on me. I say looesly because she and I are not at all alike, except maybe hair color and the fact she wears glasses.

Kody is a character I made out of Ryou Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh and just gave him a different life story and name. I was a little freaked out to realized that I had imaginged Kody and his parents are distant long before I knew that Ryou\'s father was an archeologist and away alot, distant from Ryou. Apparently, I figured that his personality demanded it, even though Ryou\'s and Kody\'s personalities are different, mostly because Kody has a back bone.

You might recognize Leo from my fist story, but I must warn you, he is different. Not only because he\'s set in a different time and not afraid of locked doors, but because of his past. Very different and affects his actions greatly.

Eric and Zack are oddly similar in looks, being close clones of Gary from the first season of Pokemon. I know, sucky, this was made up when Pokemon was popular, so don\'t blame me! Though, Eric perfers purple while Zack goes for blue. Only Eric has the Peace sign around his neck.

I do have an obsesion with black haired boys and grey eyes *sweatdrops* and I apologise if you do not share this admiration with me.

Well, here is my bit. Please enjoy.

Chronical 1: Coming To The Bording School

\"Now, please tell me who you are and what powers qualify you for bording here,\" said Consular David Fairfield calmly, looking at each potential student in turn, trying to determine why they\'d waited a day before the term started to come in and apply.

A girl, slim, with light brown hair down to her shoulders, and amber eyes sparkling behind brass-colored glasses as she spoke to him. \"My name is Shadow and I can turn invisible at will, as well as other objects. That, I can assure you is all you need to know.\" She smirked, making the consuler worry slightly about her sanity.

\"And I,\" spoke up one boy, smiling politly, \"Am Kody. I can generate impenertrable forcefields as well as transform into a wolf, whom we refer to as \'Iceberge\'.\" The boy was quite a sight, really. Snowy white locks fell down to his shoulder blades, rather large brown eyes with a slight sparkle of humor in them and a very pale completion gave the impression that Kody was a snowman with chocolate for eyes.

Next spoke a small boy of around 8 or 9, covered in black clothing, black spiky hair standing on end and the palest eyes Fairfield had ever seen. He had almost thought they were white before he caught the faitest glimer of green in them, so sharp and cold, like ice. At the consuler\'s shudder, the boy sneered, his eyes glinting in amusment. David couldn\'t help but feel very nervous, like he should duck before a heavy axe swung down and hit him. \"I\'m Leo. I work with electricty, creating it and manipulating it. Oh, and in case you were wondering, I\'m 13. Don\'t make the mistake of calling me anything else, got it?\"

\"Ah, yes,\" replied Fairfields uneasily. Thankfully, one of the two grey-eyed and black-haired boy\'s steped forward and smiled brightly at him. This one\'s eyes were lighter than the other boy\'s, his hair a little more ruffled, and he was shorter and broader. Holding out his hand, David noticed the boy had callused fingers. The consuler took his hand and shook it as the boy introduced himself.

\"I\'m Michael Torch and I can make six vine-like appendages come out of my back.\" The way the boy spoke of it, it was like he said this often and it was completely normal, like telling some one the type of gum you want. However, the boy\'s easiness was happily appretiated by David.

\"I\'m Tony. I can turn my body parts into any kind of electronic technology.\" The boy who\'d spoken was the second grey-eyed boy. He neither moved forward to take his hand, nor tried to affend him. His slim body remained fixed where he was, not bothering to greet the consuler like his look-a-like did. The next girl was no friendlier, making it clear how stoic she was.

Shinny, black hair fell down to her waist, heavy-lided blue-grey eyes gazed at him with indifference and her sickly white skin stood out promenantly against her blue dress and grey jacket. Her voice droned in a way that didn\'t put him to sleep, but made him, strangely, more alert, \"I am Raven. I can transform into a rather large prehistoric bird I named Socrates.\" She left no room for comment.

The next boy, the last of the group, steped forward and offered his hand. David took it, looking at the youth in surprise. The boy was clad in black leather pants and tank top, his slightly taned arms and stomache exposed and a gold hoop earing hanging from his left ear. He had deep, emerald green eyes that shimmered like the gem stone it resembeled. His voice was not too deep, but not to high either, nor was it too soft or too loud. It was just right and pleasing to the ears.

\"I\'m Duke and I can also change into an animal, except mine\'s a really big black panther named Jiger. I can also teleport by jumping into shadows and reappearing out of another.\" A question pounded on Fairfeilds mind once Duke had finished.

\"You say that the animals you turn into have names,\" started David slowly, \"Why is that?\"

\"So that when we talk to them, we have something to call them,\" informed Kody calmly.

David was taken aback. \"What? You talk to them? We have some transformers enrolled here, but none of them can to talk to their animal halves. Why you?\"

\"Because,\" cut in Shadow sharply, her smirk in place, \"They\'ve spent months perfecting their talents and have developed them so throughly, they\'ve advanced their begining mutations to this point. We all have, and from my information, Raven should be aquiering a new ability soon.\"

David didnt\' say anything to that. What was there to say, really? Fairfield shuffled the papers on his desk, trying to distract himself momentarily. He found application forms and felt this would be a good time to bring that up.

\"Alright,\" he said, handing each teenager a set of application forms, \"Now, fill these out in the lobby and bring them back to me when your done and I can give you your class scheduals and dorm room nubers.\"

The group nodded and filed out of the room, papers in hand. David watched them, not one muscle moving until the door had shut entirely.

Out side the door, the group conversed quietly.

\"It says we need to put our first and last names on here, but won\'t that raise suspision?\"

\"Yeah, and it says we need to fill out contact information as well. Who are we going to put down? The parents that don\'t know where we are?!\"

\"Calm down! We can figure this out.\"

\"Oh, crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcra---!\"

\"Shut up Michael! What do you have in mind, oh smart one?\"

\"Ha ha, shut it. I\'m just saying, I can make up people and addresses for us. I can put it in the national records as real people once we\'re in our dorms. Sound good?\"

There was a series of nods and \"okay\" as the group agreed to Shadow\'s plan. With lightning speed only the accademiclaly enhanced girl could manage, Shadow wized throught the forms, filling out all the information and locking it away to remember later. Sixteen minutes later, the group of seven re-entered the consuler\'s office to find him talking to a brown haired boy sitting in one of the leather chairs.

\"So, let me get this straight. You want me to step in my shadow and follow the spiked club?\" asked Fairfields skeptically. He had his hands on his desk, his fingers touching at the tips. The boy\'s back was to them, but the group could tell his was at least fifteen or sixteen.

\"Exactly.\" The boy\'s voice was firm, telling them that despite his odd words, to him they shouted a clear message. Shadow, being the genius, figured it out almost immediatly and smirked smugly.

\"You want him to---?\" started Shadow before she was interrupted by the boy.

\"Yes,\" he replied simply. \"But don\'t tell him, it\'s crucial he figures it out himself.\" Shadow was surprised that when the boy turned to face her smiling wryly, she saw milky white eyes. The boy was blind.

David sighed. It was another of Eric\'s future updates---literally. But every time he gave him insight to the future, it was in riddles and he never figured it out until it had happened. Hopefully, with someone who could understand Eric\'s cryptic meassage, namely Shadow, he could be more prepared.

\"Well, I don\'t want to go against a future-tellers wishes, now would I?\" smirked Shadow in mock inoccence. Kody, Leo, Duke and Tony all rolled their eyes, Michael not catching the sarcasim and Raven not bothering to react.

\"I\'m pleased to meet you all,\" stated Eric, standing up and walking to Shadow, taking her hand and kissing it lightly before repeating the action to Raven. \"I\'m Eric Sorten, but please call me Prophet. I\'m greatly pleased to make your aquaintence, Raven, Shadow, Kody, Leo, Tony, Duke, Michael.\" All to the group looked at Eric in surprise. How did he know their names?

\"I must take my leave now, but until another time.\" Eric took his leave, not once bumping into anyone as he went, even though he was blind. Kody was the first to recover.

\"How does he do that?\" he asked.

David sighed, \"He can see into the future. He probably knew where you were going to be standing and moved around that way. He is, welll, a mystery to the staff. He just showed up, demanded bord and said he was going to wait until she came. Who \'she\' is, we don\'t know, not that he was going to make in an easy answer anyway.\"

Leo snorted. \"I don\'t think I\'ll like him.\"

Kody rolled his eyes and smiled slightly, saying, \"Since when have you liked anyone, anyway?\"

Leo shrugged, his eyes narrowing slightly. Turning to Fairfield, he snapped, \"When do we see the dorms?\"

\"Ah, yes,\" David grabbed a small sheet of paper and led the group of seven out of his office, passed the lobby and into the entrance hall. From there, he led them up a stair case, then another, until he got to the third floor and led them down a very long hall way.

\"We managed to get you rooms right next to each other. Shadow and Raven, you get this room,\" David pointed to a door marked \'91\', \"Kody and Leo, you get 93, Tony and Michael you get 95 and Duke, you share a dorm with Eric, er, Prophet. I\'ll have to come back with your scheduals later, as the staff has to figure out what\'s still available as electives. Get settled in, the staff already brought your stuff up.\" With that, David Fairfields left, leaving the group of teens alone in the hall.

For a long moment, no one moved. Then, ever the daring one, Leo stepped forward and turned his door\'s handle. He threw the door open.

Inisde was the scene of a normal dorm room; two twin beds, both covered in white sheets and blankets, a side table between them, a closet on one end and a desk and chair in the corner. Two suitcases sat in there as well, one black one and one blue one.

The other three opened their dorm rooms, Duke being greeted by Eric, who had the volume on his ipod all the way up. Other than the rooms being plain, there was nothing wrong with them, and Michael was the first to start adding his personal touches, Shadow close behind him.

~~Two hours latter~~

\"Ah, I believe it is time to eat.\"

Shadow looked up at the clock hanging above the door. It\'s little hand hovered close to the six, the big hand inching towards the twelve. She glared at the clock for a minute then turned to Raven, who sat on her bed, reading a book written in French. \"How do you know?\" she asked.

Raven blinked at the clock. \"Because Socrates smells food and hears the sound of many foot falls.\" That was all Shadow needed to know as she shut down her laptop and closed it, standing up to leave. She turned to Raven, who was mysteriously standing right next to the door.

\"Should we tell the others?\" she asked. It would\'ve hurt her pride months ago to ask that, but Shadow soon realized that there was a very prominent reason Raven named her second form after a brilliant man. Raven shook her head.

\"There\'s no need,\" she droned, \"There is a mind in each dorm that will notice the change in air currents.\" And so the girls headed out of their room and down the stairs to the entrance hall. A huge crowd of students were filtering through a door on their left, talking animatedly with each other.

As the two girls stood there, they were joined by Kody, Leo, Michael, Tony, and Duke, Michael and Tony out of breath from racing the whole way.

\"Where\'s Prophet?\" inquired Kody curiously. Duke shrugged, saying that Prophet told him he didn\'t eat, or at least didn\'t need to.

They entered the loud and bustling dinning hall, blown away by it\'s size. It could have fit a whole church in here comfortably, cross and all, it was so tall. Six tables stood in the room, one of them in a perpendicular direction to the rest and two parallel walls covered in floor length windows. Each table was laden with food, plates at every seat, waiting to be filled. There was an empty space at the fith table, which the group quickly claimed.

All of them ignored the rest of the students, concerning themselves with just their group. Most of the students in the room had been at the school for three weeks, having time to make friends in the time before the term started the next day on the second of September. Everyone had a partner, a friend that they sat with and spoke with, swaped jokes and ate with. The group had it too, only with themselves though, no one else.

Shadow raised her glass in the air, the others following her gesture. She then said, so quietly that no one but those sitting next to her could hear:

\"To the Shadow Club.\"

\"To the Shadow Club,\" they repeated, clinking their glasses together.

That was the fist piece. I will add more latter, and I must warn you that most of these stories will be thrown out of time line, in which case I\'ll tell you in the author notes.

Sorry, Zack wasn\'t in this one, but he will show up, I promise.

Thank you.
