Awakening
A black-haired boy with stunning emerald eyes stared in utter annoyance. Robert, the black-haired boy, dressed in black with fish-net coming out of his muscle shirt rolled his eyes as the counselor asked him what he believed to be an idiotic question. Robert averted his eyes from the fly that buzzed about trying to escape the room it had been trapped in.
“Robert, have you felt uncomfortable around somebody?” the counselor asked staring intently at the gothic boy. As usual Robert didn’t answer the old man. The counselor wrote something down on his lined sheet of paper.
“Have you, perhaps been under stress or do you have girl problems?” the old man asked in a soothing voice.
Robert slowly looked up at the old man; gray hair, glassy blue eyes and an emotionless face looked back at him. Robert felt no need to tell this man anything about himself, about his personal feelings or anything that connected itself with him.
“Robert, your parents are worried about you. They say you come home at late hours and look drunk. You have become more violent, you miss school and also and more importantly, your friends tell me that you are acting suicidal…” the counselor said with a concerned voice. “I’m here to help you…” he added sincerely.
“I see the shattering walls, the darkness that lingers… I see their silent and unheard screams… They, who have been judged and misled, seek to be welcomed… He has shown me and showered me with the curse” Robert explained. The old counselor’s shocked expression changed to curiosity as he stared at the black-haired boy.
Robert slowly closed his eyes and tilted his head, then got up and exited the intoxicating room. The old man’s gaze remained fixed on the spot where the young boy had so recently sat.
Robert walked along the sidewalk and past people who gave him a look. When you are Goth, that’s what happens. Strange and curious glances are always sent your way. Sometimes it bothered the young teen, but he didn’t do anything to show whether he liked or disliked their looks. The sun was setting in the distance giving the sky a bloody red colour. Robert unconsciously clutched his hand in a fist. “Death” …that’s what the red sky reminded him of, and death reminded him of… HIM or perhaps a better word is “IT”!
The night came slowly as Robert hid in the shadows of the abbey. HE or IT would be coming shortly… Panic was in his mind and it sheared through his blood, and the menacing look of the… monster came in sight. He could see half of his body, arms and face. The side he could see had a glaring golden eye. Under the eye, in the very middle, was a black line. The most catching characteristic was his black wing which had a spike on the top.
The fear showed visibly on Robert’s face, and the monster’s bloody red lips turned into a smirk as his golden eye showed a glint of amusement.
“Nothing to fear” it purred, sending chills down Robert’s spine and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. Half of the smirk Robert could see changed into one of amusement and lust as it licked its lip with a black snake-like tongue.
“We’d better be on our way.” it said in a husky voice. Robert trembled and swallowed hard.
“Come or we’ll be late,” it said, raising its arm.
Its hands were a sickly pale blue and were boney. His nails were black and long-like claws. In a swift movement, he moved his hand and the shadows engulfed Robert and the creature.
Robert slowly opened his eyes. He was surrounded by darkness, but he knew, somewhere in this shadow of a nightmare, it stood, gleaming, smirking at him.
Everything had happened so fast for Robert. He was walking by an abandoned house when he had heard a childish scream. Robert being the curious child he always had been had hurried towards the yelling and came upon a little girl with curly blond hair. Her clothes were dirty and she had dirt on her right cheek. Her big blue innocent eyes stared in fright at the creature that stood only a few feet away from her. The same creature, same monster, that had hunted him all this past week. It called itself an “angel”… “An angel of death”. Robert taught bitterly at it. It killed and lusted for blood. It forced Robert to watch him kill the young, engrave his mark, and drink their blood… Robert was fortunate. It did not kill him… but it gave him his cures, showered him in darkness, made him live a life reborn.
It was bloody hell… the demon… the devil! Robert could do nothing to stop its murderous thoughts, its killing spree and its lust. He now wondered…if this was how it was going to end. Had there been others like him? Was it just him? What did it want with him?
Nothing could now stop Robert’s train of thought he knew. He figured it out… and the last sight of Robert was with a smirk playing upon his ruby lips as his only visible golden and gleaming eye scanned what was to become.
Hope you liked it, ^-^
