From Creation to Consumption

::FROM CREATION TO CONSUMPTION- The Life of a Carbonated Soda Bubble::

It all started in a big factory in Atlanta, GA. I remember it like it was yesterday; all those many days ago I was, but nothing. Not even half the little carbonated soda bubble I am now. It seemed like it took no time at all for the ingredients to be mixed together and create the wonderful carbonation that is to be my family. It was as if I was created in a split second. I was nothing and suddenly I was alive, concious and alert. I knew everything around me as if I had always been.

But I was not alone.

For there was thousands, nay millions, of us all around. Almost as if being thrusted into a giant, dark, liquid playground full of infinite siblings. There was joy and curiosity everywhere. At once we all started talking and asking all sorts of questions of each other that, of course, no one knew the answers to. Tiring of the inane rambling we sought out to have fun, bouncing and being free. The cilindrical walls around us were like a prison. We wanted freedom and so we screamed our fizzy cries. It seemed like an eternity of our fizzing and bouncing when there was a thunderous boom from above and we finally saw light. Being the first time in our lives we had no idea what it was. Many feared the end. Others saw it as a way out. There was a desperate race to the top of the liquid. The masses were terrified as the container started to shift. The fizzing grew louder and louder. All of a sudden hundreds of our brethren were being swept out away, into the unknown abyss.

It was then that we finally knew it was the end.

Many of us silently waited, huddling together for comfort, for the end. Some were in hysterics, fizzing uncontrollably. Slowly, the abyss engulfed us all. As I went, I tried to stay calm. Comfort the others until it was all over. It was a rough trip out of the container that had been our home. The abyss was dark and wet. The last that anyone saw before the unknown took us was the shining metal of a home we would never see again. The only ones not taken died in the bottom of the can and were washed away. There has been word spread to certain containers of what has happened. It has been done in the past and this hanous act will continue in the future. We may be many in number, but there is nothing we can do.

We were created a doomed race.
