Stains of Crimson

It was an average day for me, or it would have been. For I was mostly unaware that this was my last day of freedom, my last day of being me, being myself, being alive. It was another cold night, I was kicked out of the bar, it was a day until my twenty-first birthday so I thought I might be able to dodge it, I didn\'t. I can now recall that the wind was colder this night, even with my wool jacket. I decided to walk home, detour through the park to make it quicker. Tommorow I would age again, slowly this process would increase until I grew old. I always thought about these things on my birthday, growing older. How time went so quickly and my existance would stop, I believed in no heaven, no hell. Only imagining death as a darkened sleep forever.
I stopped at the swingset and sat myself down on one, swaying myself back and forth, it seemed like yesterday I was here with my friends, being young, pure. And now aged to this? Barely getting by with what I already had. I had hardly any money to live on, or feed myself, I was laid off and was staying with a friend who would soon kick me out when I could not pay rent.I used my fun money for the only thing I found fun anymore, drinking. I never really got terribly drunk, now I was just a bit drowsy.
The chains of the other swings rattled and I felt the air go down ten degrees again as the hair on the back of my neck stood up I swung higher and higher, looking at the full moon that hid behind the dark clouds. And I continued tothink about it, death? Who created it, why does it happen? Why did time happen and why did I have to age? But at least I would have no money burdens being dead, but great darkness seems ..forever when it is. Rotting there slowly in the ground would get to me.
\"Then maybe you shouldn\'t die,\"
That\'s when I heard the cold voice, a quick pale hand had grabbed the chain of my swing and make it stop dead in it\'s track I looked at the caped figure, who\'s skin was paler then most people, was he albino? I looked into his cold eyes and saw fear, then I remembered I was asked a question, a very stupid question I thought it was at the time. \"Don\'t die? What are you bloody mental? You can\'t stop death!\" I looked at him like he was insane, but at this moment I was the insane one.
\"You don\'t think outside the box do you?\" He asked me, he looked intimidating and I swore I saw fangs when he smirked at me, I was right, but at this moment I thought I was just seeing things in the darkness. He didn\'t give me a chance to reply and started again. \"If there were some way, I could keep you as this, the way you are now, forever. Not aging, not dying, eternal life, would you serve me for that lifetime, as my servant, my lover?\" His tone had grown colder, and my heart sank at his tone, of what he said, did I fear death enough to serve someone for a life time? I look back now and wish I was not so afraid.
\"I would.\" Was my quiet reply and in an instant as I had answered a sharp white pain was at my neck, th-this person bit me, tears flowed down my cheeks and I tried to push him away but his fangs were locked into my flesh, I felt weaker with each suck, my vision was fading, I dizzily looked up at him now as he finished drinking from me, he was no longer pail, and blood trickled down his chin, I saw him bite his wrist and put it to my mouth as his blood trickled across my lips.
\"Drink.\" he ordered in a darker, much more acid like tone and I obeyed, I drank the sweet blood greedily, and he pulled back, I whimpered as I felt my body change, I could feel my canines grow, my fingernails into claws, everything hurt, then everything went numb.
My wounds were gone, my senses were more alert as I looked up at the man who had done this to me with more clearer vision, I could smell the blood on his lips, hear the wind rustle the grass, I didn\'t know wether to thank him, or hope I did not have to serve him after all.
\"Tell me boy, now that I own you, tell me your name, and reply to me as Master.\" I knew what I feared more than death at this moment, I feared this man.
\"Adrian, Master. My name is Adrian.\"
But at that point I had no identity, I was property. I was owned by a vampire.
