THE PROMISE

THE PROMISE

Once you told me you’ll stay with me forever...
Forever turned out not to be as long as it was supposed to.

You’re so far away from me now,
I can tell something is missing.
I can’t feel your joy, nor your sadness
Not even your anger anymore

Why?
What the hell happened to you?
It was supposed to be a game you know?
Yours and mine, ours only,
To have the whole world just wondering
And forever outside of it
Now it’s over,
No more games or reality for us,
You’re gone,
Something killed you and all that remains
Is a well done corpse,
A mere copy of what you were.

So, why continue?
Let us welcome death
Let her come and get us
For life isn’t worth living without you.

Still is what I’m expected to do,
I’m supposed to continue walking
And never turn back to see your grave,
The one in wich I supposedly dispossed of your corpse.

Except there is no grave,
I still carry your corpse with me,
I have not been able to throw it away
And I will never do so
I’ll keep it with me
As long as it takes for life to end.
If only to make you fulfill your promise.

You promised you’ll stay with me forever...
