The Time is now...

Riding to the cliff on her trusty friend, the horse named Minen, Artemis haults to look at the city below. She was followed by her only friend Felix. He was right behind her on his very own horse.
\"What do you suppose this city is like?\" He asked, only recieving silence.
\"Come on...\" She rode back and down a hill. Reaching the city, Artemis and Felix looked around as they stride down the road. The buildings and houses were torn apart, no one was found in sight.
\"this world makes me sick....\" Artemis jumped off of Minen and tied him to a post, patting him on the head and removing her canteen from his side, she walked to a nearby well and looked into it. Lowering the pale into the well, while Felix ties down his horse, she orders him to look around.
\"Felix, check those houses over there. You find annything, come tell me.\", She started to fill up her canteen.
\"Right.\" he unstrapped his gun from the horse, and placed it on his belt. Inside of one of the buildings, Felix searched through the doors and looks through the halls. Everything was dusty, the sun shined through the broken windows.
\"Damn... this place sucks. I\'m surprised it didn\'t fall over already.\" He touched a wall, it collapsed. He gave a slight chuckle, and continued to look around. he followed the stairs to the basement, he found several doors and chose to enter the middle one.
\"Well this is very intresting... who would have thought I would find nothing but money.\" he shut the door. Trying the other doors, he found some canned food and a few new clothes.

Artemis was washing her fur from the dirt, when she heard a noise coming from one of the houses. She quickly removed her Colt 45\'s from there holsters and held them closely to her face. Hearing the noise again, she turned and fired a warning shot at the side of the house.
\"Who\'s there!?\" she called out. She was greeted with silence. Standing with her guns aimed at the house, waiting for any movement, she walked slowly towards it.
She stood against the busted wall, and peered her head around the corner. Something jumped up out at her, knocking her guns from her paws. She jumped back, she was no confronted by a crazed coyote. He struck at her, taring her shirt a little.
\"She removed the kitana on her waste from the sheeth, and held it in front of her. the coyote jumped at her again, she struck at him slicing his arm off. He screached in pain, but did not let up on the fight. Punching at her, but being blocked by her forearm. he wrenched in pain, he had broken his fingers. revealing her hand from its glove, showing it was completely metalic.
\"What The fuck!?\" the coyote reeled back. he didn\'t seemed all to effected by the damage, especially the one from his bleeding arm. He struck at Artemis again, only getting his stomach sliced open.
His innards started to spill out, he fell to his knees and tried to place them back in, they were full of dirt now as he slowly began to fade. Artemis came from behind and sliced his head off. Blood splattered over her clothes. She after wiping the blood off the blade, she sheethed her sword.
\"You were holding back some anger weren\'t you?\" her shadow laughed.
\"not now Clydesdale... I\'m not in a cheery mood.\" she walked back to the well.
\"When are you ever?\" he receeded back inot her shadow quietly.
She tried to wash the blood off, but it left a distinct stain on her clothes. She grunted, \"Hey, what happened!?\" felix walked up to her, noticing the blood and the dead body.
\"Just a little fight.\" she looked at the bag he held, \"What did you find?\".
\"I found some canned food and some change of clothes. It looks like you need it, too.\" he threw her the bag. She caught it and searched through it. Inside she found a black tail coat, a white button up shirt, and some black trousers. She started to take off her shirt, when she noticed Felix staring at her.
\"Do you mind?\" she angrily growled at him.
\"Not reallly, I think you have a great rack.\" he obnoxiously replied, recieving a nasty snarl. \"Oh come on, when am I going to ever see any real breast in this world?\" that remark got him a warning shot from her gun, the bullet shot next to his foot making him jump and turn around. \"Fine fine...\" he grunted.

After changing, Artemis and felix rode their horses intot he sandy scenary. They had no idea where they were going, but they had no place to call home in a world without care anymore. It was starting to become night, so Artemis and Felix set up camp. While Felix got the fire started, Artemis was cuting open the canned food, saving some for later as rations. Sitting around the fire, eating their canned beans, Felix looked at Artemis.
\"What?\' she looked up froma spoonful of beans.
\"I was just wondering if you could tell me about your old pack...\" he asked a bit shyly. She looked at him, and sighed.
\"My pack was some of the greatest fighters out there. we would travel from city to city, joining some tournaments to gain food and water. We had plenty of enemies aswell, some rival packs. But we were the best.\" Felix\'s tail swayed, he was enjoying the story.
\"We went to a fight in a city, about half way cross the world from here, where we suppose to fight the riening champions to the ultimate tournament, but we soon found out that the only way they were champions was because they attacked their opponents in their sleep and killed off the strongest.\" she gazed down at the spoonful of beans, and gulped it down. Felix felt her sadness, he started to eat his food again.
\"I was up, talking with my best friend. We were great pals, he and I trained with the pack leader often. When we heard someone stalking in the bushes. we tried to wake the elder, but it was too late. The reining champs were complete cheaters, they attacked while everyone was still undressed and not ready for battle. My pack was slaughtered...\" She threw down her can and layed down in her sleeping bag. Felix set his aside and and layed down aswell.
\"So how did you escape...?\" After a few minutes of silence, Felixed asked. She tunre in her sleeping and looked at him, \"I ran... I ran for life, I took Minen and ran away, damnit. OKAY!?\" She started to cry, felix felt uneasy watching her.
\"I\'m a fucking coward! I ran and saved myself! I watched as the others were killed. But I was too scared to do anything!\"
After a few more minutes of nothing, but the sound of Artemis sobbing, felix had to know {\"What happened to your friend?\". Artemis wiped her tears away and spoke softly.
\"I don\'t know what happened to her... she probly died with the rest of them...\" She covered herself, closing her eyes. Felix felt he should keep quiet about it now, he covered himself and fell right to sleep.

The next day Artemis was up before Felix, as usual, she was training. punching and kicking air, letting off some anger. Her combat Boots crunched the sand under her, when Felix woke up he watched her as he packed the thngs away. All the time he was thinking \"I wonder why the heat isn\'t affecting her, with those heavy black clothes on\". Felix packed everything onto the horses, who were eating some grass they found in the sand. When Artemis was done excersising, she mounted her horse. \"Come on Felix, Minen.\" she raised his reins, he went forward. Felix mounted his horse and followed.
They reached a city not too far long the path they took, and found it full of others who were tired and ragged looking. Striding down the road, they looked at all the musty and dirty faces of the furs staring up at them. Artemis kept her head high, looking ofr the village leader, but Felix kept his head low. He hated seeing others like this.
Once they met up with wh was said to be the leader, they talked with him. \"My name is Artemis, this is my companion, Felix.\" she looked at the leader with her piercing purple eyes, her dark-gray hair covering her right eye.
\"I am Perogon. I watch over this village, I am the pack leader. What is the reason you came here?\" he kept himself up on a cane.
\"Me and my companion need a place to rest tonight. We were wondering if we were allowed to stay here tonight, we are willing to compensate by providing some food and water. She held out her canteen, which had plenty of water to keep the village replenished for about a week.
The elder looked at the canteen contently. \"You may stay...\", she handed him the canteen, which he snatched from her hands. he drank from it, but made sure to only take as much as he should. He was an old leader, but knew that his pack was his responsibility.
\"Where are we to stay tonight?\" she wanted to leave his sight as quickly as she could.
\"stay in the room just a little down the hall from here. Felix headed out before her, she followed.

Felix layed on the bed next to the window, and looked out at the people \"What do you suppose they do? Just sitting here, doing nothing but waiting to die?\" He observed some young cubs playing with a ball.
\"I can care less about what they do. or how they survive.\" she checked her guns. Felix just frowned at her response and continued to watch the children play. \"I\'m going out to catch some food.\" Artemis strapped her sord to her side, and headed out the room. Felix just couldn\'t help watching the kids, they reminded him of his past. When he was a cub, in this nasty world, he lived with his pack who was the only family he had at the time. They were a quiet pack, but strong. He was proud of the way they lived, they had a drinking supply that lasted forever, and they hunted the small prey in the wild for food. They were a great pack, till that one day someone came with their own pack and challenged the Alpha for the land. well, by challenge he meant that thye surprised attacked the Alpha and took over the city. Making everyfur beg for their life before decapitating them, some were lucky enough to escape with their lives, but it failed in vein as they had to go through the harshness of the dead land without food and water. Felix knows what it is like, walking through the desert, without any supplies. He looked back on his past. Walking through that scorching hot sun, only to find it futile to carry on. He thought he was dead for sure, when he fell to his knees and fainted, only to find that he would wake up in the arms of the young Artemis. She had given him some water from her canteen, and had made some food for him. That is why he feels that he needs to return the favor to her, he will follow her to the ends of the world, as he chose her to be the Alpha in his new family.
Noticing a change in how the villagers were acting, Felix went outside to see what was happening. A pack came to the city to claim it as there own. They hd found that the city was siitng ontop of a water way, but they had to dig through the city to get to it. They tried to challenge the sickly villagers for the claim. The Villagers hadn\'t a chance, they tried to talk their way out of it. the challengers had a feel about them, they seemed familiar to the fox. Sniffing the air, he realized that the packs leader had the same scent as artemis. Before he knew it though, they started to attack the village.

After hunting, it was becoming dark. Artemis was on her way to the village, she saw some dark smoke coming from the village\'s area. Her pruple eyes widened as she dropped her catch and ran to the village. When she reached it, she saw that a wild pack was attacking them. She started to run for the house Felix was staying at, looking for Minen aswell. \"What\'s going on!?\" Clydesdale asked from within her shadow, \"The village is under attack! Clydesdale-\" before she could finish, he knew what she going to say. he removed himself from her shadow and strecthed.
\"I\'ll take care of what I can.\" he smirked and ran after some of the attackers.
Artemis reached the building and checked on her horse, Minen, he was doing okay but was a bit riled up. She calmed him down and untied him from his post. She mounted him and jumped out the window.
\"Where is felix!?\" she shouted over the noise.
Felix was struggling with some canines of the pack, who were trying to kill a couple of cubs. He shot one and kicked the other. He was knocked out by a sneak attack from behind. before the enemy could make a final blow, a long chain that wrapped around the canines waist that had a sharp blade at the end of it. The blade pierced his eye and stabbed through his head. Quickly pulling on the chain, removing it from the carcass of the enemy, Artemis wrapped it up in her hand. Jumping from Minen, she checked up on Felix, he was okay but had a slight head injury. She smelled more of the Canines coming up on her, she turned on them with her guns. She fired at them, killing two but one remained. He kicked her guns from her hands, she was going to pull her sword on him, but he was to quick for that. He knocked her sword from her waist, and kicked her in the gut.
She spat out some blood, and wrenched back in pain. She stared at him evily, and got into a fighting postion. He attacked first, rushing at her. She dodged him and elbowed him in the ribs, followed by a kick to the side. He dodged the kick and punched her in the muzzle. She was knocked back, but came back with a punch from her metalic arm and broke the canines jaw. he fell to the floor in pain, she walked up to him and stared at him. She lifted her boot, and smashed down on him as he gazed up in terror. She stomped down several times, crushing every bit of his skull under her boot.

Felix regained conciousness, the first site he saw was Artemis angrily crushing the skull of the Canine. He looked on in horror, he got up and ran to her side, grabbing her by the shoulders he shook her.
\"Snap out of it artemis! stop he\'s dead!!\", he slapped her, and recieved a terrible growl from her. he looked away, \"We need to help the other villagers. \"He said not looking at her. He picked up his gun and and reloaded it, turning back to her she looked at him with the fire burning in the background and the sun setting. He looked handsome and heroic. Snapping out of it, she grabbed her weapons and ran to help the vilagers.
After killing some of the other attackers, felix realized something, the leader! where was he!?
Artemis ran to Perogon\'s place, with felix right behind her, the rushed the door open to only find perogon laying dead on the ground with a kitana through his back. Sitting in his chair was a young female wolf, \"Who are you!?\" Felix asked in anger, only to be answered by his own friend.
\"Alex?\" Artemis cried out, as she saw the spitting image of her old friend from her old pack.
