One Wonders However, If Opposites Really Do Attract

It\'s been a while since I wrote my first fan-fiction, I hope I don\'t disappoint, cause my first fic went over really well. These are my characters, and all that jazz. I really hope you like it, and I have to tell you, this first chapter is really kind of slow. Hope you like it, and Read and Review (how generic does that sound?)

Chapter One: One Wonders However, If Opposites Really Do Attract

For three years they all watched. They watched him follow her with adoring eyes, always behind her, seeming to bask in her presence. In the morning, she was the first person he said hello to, in language arts he sat behind her, at lunch she was all he talked about, he walked her home from the bus. Everyone knew that John was going to date Molly.

. . . they were all surprised when that didn\'t happen. Needless to say, rumors ran rampant.

\"It\'s just Kent, Molly\'s way out of his league.\"

\"What will John do? He\'s so nice. I doubt much.\"

\"It won\'t last two weeks, they don\'t do anything.\"

\"Oh, Molly\'s too nice! He\'ll probably dump her! It\'s so sad.\"

I\'d love to say the story ends there. Say that Molly and Kent lived together forever, all was happy, and John found a nice girl from South Carolina who he settled down with many years after. Oh God, how Id love to say the story ends there. But sadly, it doesn\'t. In a perfect world, rumors are wrong, and happiness is shared with everyone. . . .we don\'t live in a perfect world. Far from it. The rumors were dead on, Molly was out of Kent\'s league, John did nothing, it lasted to weeks, and Kent dumped her.

In most cases, if that had happened, she would be the laughing stock of the school, this did not happen however. No one could hate Molly, they all felt awful for her, and in the end Kent was shunned and started seeing a bitchy cutter named Natalie. He was mocked and ridiculed. But soon all was forgotten, like the sun warms the chill and moisture of the rain, the downpour of malice melted away with the sunshine of her smile.

That often happened. Molly\'s smile, or more so, her happy nature had that effect on people. It was later found out that Molly wasn\'t even upset over the ordeal, and was going out with Kent to be nice. People found that odd, but none the less, the attention died down. But one thing stayed consistent throughout the relationships. . . John. Even while Molly went out with Kent, even when she was dumped, and even when all was simply \"forgotten,\" John could always be seen right behind Molly, always.

It was an odd sight, watching him follow her. Molly was often described as a porcelain doll. It was a fairly accurate description, at least when compared to the other girls at her school. While they were long, lean and beautiful, Molly was just different. She was a mere 4\' 11.5\" and had a beyond small and petite frame, with an adorable face. Her lips were large, and crimson, looking as if they had just been bit all the time. To go along with her doll-like features she had the complexion of frosty glass, always a little flushed. No, she wasn\'t the type of \"beautiful\" that a foot ball player would go for, she was the epitome of \"unique beauty,\" and nothing less could describe her. Her frail small frame deceived her character beyond reason. If her looks were described as \"unique beauty,\" then her personality\'s description was undoubtably \"firecracker.\" Only two of her physical features seemed to match her disposition, her knowing smirk, and her eyes. Her eyes were the oddest shades, and often changed color, but most commonly, they were an odd shade of orange, framed by large black eyelashes that mismatched her flaxen hair.

The reason Molly and John looked like such an odd pair was simple. While Molly was small, and delicate looking, John was your average foot ball player. A little bulky, just lost most of his baby fat, and was a good 6\' 4\". He towered over her, and weighed as much as one Molly and a half. It was almost comical since their silhouettes resembled and an adult pedophile after a well-developed 12 year old. Their fashion senses clashed as well though, between his clean-cut sweater and khakis, and her odd punkish grunge, they looked like opposites indeed. One wonders however, if opposites really do attract.

Sorry that\'s so. . . listed, but it was kind of my character BIOS. I promise that it will get better, and there\'s going to be serious drama! I usually update with a chapter every day, so check it out tomorrow if you\'d like.
Sincerely yours,
O.G.
